Maitland Market Cafe & Deli

The best sammies on Bay Farm! The hot and cold choices should please any palate. They even offer freshly grilled hamburgers. Don't see what you want on the menu, just ask. Deli is now open 10 am to 4 pm Monday through Saturday. Owner great guy. Crew is friendly and always willing to help.

If you want decent price sandwhiches that are tasty. I'd say come here. Me and my coworker haven't had a bad experience so far. So we would order again.

I've ordered sandwiches here a few times as the quality was fine when I first started, but has gone downhill since.First few times:- The service was pretty slow, so I would always allow for about 45 minutes after I called the order in before going to pick up- One of the next times I ordered from here, they gave me parts of bread instead of a whole roll for a sandwich (in my pictures). One half of the sandwich had a sliver of bread...Today:- Not sure if there's new ownership. The person who took my sandwich order on the phone really couldn't understand anything I said, resulting in basically the opposite of what I ordered. I said a sourdough roll, which he didn't understand. It sounded like he guessed what he was writing down. I said no Mayo, which he didn't understand. I then said no mayonnaise, which he still didn't understand. They put mayonnaise on both sandwiches I ordered. I said light mustard, which he didn't understand. I then said just a little bit of mustard. They put extra mustard. I said extra pickles, they put 3 slices. The jalapeños that came in my sandwich were dark and had very brown seeds, meaning they were not fresh and probably old.

Been working in alameda for 10 years and have come here from time to time. Have gotten various delicious burgers! Recently got the "Smash Burger" but the thickness would not be what I consider to be "Smashed". And I ordered NO onions but got extra onions. The Burger I got was called the Avocado Bacon club but had no Avocado! I'd love for them to have a chance to make it up to me next time I go... if you're reading this Maitland, let's make this right. :)

Ok, I'm updating this review and this time with my Island Burger. I'm telling you guys, their special sandwich's and burgers ARE SO BOMB! I am going to say this again, if you can't get in contact with them over the phone, going in to order is a lot better because communicating with them in person helps them and also you with how you want your food to assembled. The Island Burger, is officially my new flavor. Literally mushrooms, special mustard sauce, arugula and a fluffy bun are my main key words when going out to have a burger. The lady who usually takes orders and makes them, made my burger that day extra special like it was sent from heaven. This Deli/liquore store is my little gem not just for food, but scratchers too.

Sandwiches are decently priced. Tasty and leaves me wanting to try more of their sandwiches. I ordered the Cali Special and Carlito's Way on dutch crunch since it was recommended by the worker. The worker was nice and always offered to help every customer. I like the Carlito's way more but both are good. Next time, I want to try their fries and burgers!

Bay Farm Island (BFI) is part of the City of Alameda! But the residents of BFI shouldn't have to go to the "Island" to get a decent sandwich. BFI has Maitland Market Cafe and Deli. The other day I ordered some sandwiches to take to work. I ordered the Judge on Dutch Crunch, and the Mobster on Sourdough Roll. These were nicely, well made sandwiches. My sandwiches were delicious, not too salty and had the right balance of condiments. I like the Dutch Crunch roll. Service was speedy and efficient. Located on the corner of Maitland x Flower Ln, street parking and a few spaces in front.

Maitland Market has a LEGIT Sandwich Shop! Stop going to Safeway or some deli on the other side of the island. Freshly made, tasty and large, all for a cheaper price.

Truly one of the best sandwich spots on the island.Parking is easy, the people are nice, and the food is great!I highly recommend this place!
