Lo Cost Liquor

My favorite go to liquor store to stop by each time I am in Berkeley. Snacks 10/10 service 10/10 the owners and workers are very good people. Real deal. Ambiance 10/10 the love they show to their regulars is by far the best.

You'd think a liquor store called "Lo Cost" would maybe be low cost? Or at least "normal cost". I've been searching and searching for this specific drink that they do not sell in San Francisco or most of the Bay Area. The official drink's website (Beatbox) showed that this store had them in stock and the available flavors. I wanted to call just in case because I was driving a pretty good distance. Not to my surprise, no one picks up the phone even after a few attempts...so I drive there anyways. When I get there they did not have as many flavors as the site said. I figured I drove all this way so I'll pick up two for now. Just about anywhere else you can buy one of these Beatbox drinks ranging from $2.00-4.99, so I assumed it would be around that price since I've paid $4.99 at other small liquor stores and around $2.00-3.99 at big chain stores like Total Wine, but when the guy rang me up...they were almost $7 each............talk about a rip off!!!!!! I ended up buying it because I drove all this way and I already put my card in assuming it would be $5 at most...I would definitely not come back here as they don't have any signs of pricing anywhere and you'll get ripped off.

Lo Cost Liquor isn't compared to mainstream liquor outlets. wines $2 more. beers all unpriced. small bottle of north carolina beer $3.5. yikes.buys: smartfood "cheddar" popcorn (1.49)-yummy,-priced snacks better deal than unpriced alcohol.on draught:-parking available.-probably opens late into the evening.

Related to what another reviewer wrote - great management and the way they work with the community gives them an extra star.

Low cost management has always been willing to work with the community big ups to cuddy!

This has been my liquor store for the last 3 years. The owner is great and friendly and he recently started stocking a particular drink at my request. Great service, great prices, and friendly and knowledgeable staff. Best in town!

Employees had good service and were quick to give me what I needed. The prices weren't too high either!
