Went to buy some veggies and normally I pick on my own. But the vegetables I wanted had a assigned pickerI asked for 2lbs + of choy sum and when I went home I noticed that more than a lb was yellow and wilted veggies I think she filled half of my bag of unsellable veggiesWon't be buying veggies from them if I can't pick myself

I took my dad out to see the doctor on Friday, and bought groceries by the way. When I saw this milk tea, I wanted to try a new product. I didn't pay attention to it because it had expired for 1 month.

Stumbled across here the other day was blown away by the fact they still had a enioki mushrooms. I'd basically given up on finding them months ago as every other place including 99 Ranch stopped carrying for some reason (speculated it's because of the pandemic and how they previously had to import them from Asia, but I'm not sure). Not just that, but they had a massive dried mushroom section and quite a few other fresh mushrooms. Some other veggies of notes are the fresh bamboo shoots, some of the freshest lettuce and nicest looking cilantro I've seen in a while. Definitely had one of the widest selection of vegetables around, especially for green-leafed Asian veggies. The meat section was pretty good as well having nearly any animal part imaginable. Since was making hot pot at home, I got a normal chunk of beef for 5.50 a pound and some tripe (around the same price), both of with were super tasty. Wide selection for all the different types of meatballs, fishballs, etc. I just wish they had some frozen sliced meat for hot pot, but no biggie (gotta learn to make your own 腌制麻辣牛肉).When it comes to sauces and snacks, New Tian's a couple blocks down is a better bet. Oh, and if you are making a non-spicy hot pot, then you will need to go to New Tian's to get the base because this place only has the spicy stuff. If you don't speak Chinese and/or don't really understand how to use the ingridents, then I can understand how this place will frustrate you.Support this business as much as you can.

Oh come on people. Of course the store is gross and smells like fish, it's an Asian super market in Oakland...what did you expect? Porcelain floors and nicely dressed cashiers? NOPE. Sometimes their produce is bruised, over priced, or rotting...haha...but they have good enough deals on the everyday fruits and vegetables my family eats that we overlook that other stuff. I'm not sure if I would recommend their raw meat or frozen stuff, because to be honest, even my family doesn't mess with that department. For ok prices on fruits and veg, great/competitive prices on snacks and drinks, and fast moving/talking/witty cashiers come here. If you're a princess who can't deal with flies in the air, go to Safeway.

I like this supermarket... has all Chinese products mostly fresh from here California . Vegetable and fruits are fresh. Prices are all reasonable. In addition, employees are nice and friendly , but please do not expect they all speak English .

I'm a vegan white girl who loves Asian food. I wandered over here from my office around 3pm for a shopping adventure. I didn't even try to ask for help (seemed pointless given the language barrier) and I got a lot of weird looks from the customers, but I found everything I wanted and more. The produce looked fresh and they had tons of sauces, noodles, etc, and the prices were reasonable. I even loved the Chinese music they were blasting throughout the store. Of course, as a vegan I stayed away from the meat area and ignored the smell. After I gave the cashier my credit card and she rang me up, I noticed the "credit card over $30" sign, but the cashier didn't balk and I thankfully paid for my gigantic $13 bag of groceries with my Visa card. All in all a good experience and I will be back!

The only reason why I'm giving this market 4 stars is that it has my favorite packet for making Sichuan boiled fish, and it costs $1.99! In addition, I LOVE the prepackaged pho spices here. I've since acquired all the ingredients separately myself, but the prepackaged one was great for those times I was just getting started learning how to make pho and just wanted convenience.

Medium sized Chinese market. I like this place now that the large Orient Market is closed. There's meat, fish, veggies, asian drinks, and the usual Chinese stuff. I mainly get produce and stuff like oyster sauce here. The prices are good and the veggies are fresher than Safeway IMO. I love bok choy sum for $1.29/lb.The shopping baskets are pretty filthy so skip those.

Actually a pretty decent market, and I think the largest in Chinatown. Lots of selection, and relatively little mystery Chinese food stuffs. At a pinch, come here for your shopping, probably better than going to Smart and Final across Broadway. Best part? They have the mochi.

I went to the supermarket to buy a pheasant on July 7,2023,when I opened the plastic bag with it, I smelled a bad smell, then I prodded it slightly with my fingertip and found it was a little rotten. I had to throw it in the trash. Why did they dare to sell rotten food? Are they too bold?not even the least moral. I do take pictures about those.
