Amazing super nachos! I live laugh love and breathe the super nachos. The carnitas super nachos really just hit the spot night after night, I would like to shake the chef's hand and personally thank him for creating the heavenly Super Nacho's, loaded with guacamole, sour cream, beans, cheese, and even a EXTRA bag of chips. I recommend ordering the Pina agua Fresca to go with.

Good but not the best Mexican food in Berkeley.I got the Quesabirria and Al Pastor tacos. The consomé was lacking some flavor. Overall, enjoyable tacos. The protein flavor was good but nothing crazy. I paired my tacos with their pickled veggies. I love their pickled veggie and sauces bar. Really spacious interior. Food is ready relatively fast. Also, fun fact, Las Cabañas is a fan favorite spot for Cal Sailing team dinners.

Ordered to go this time, had to try the super burrito. It's good fresh homemade food. It's lacking some flavor, but well worth the freshness. Love their shredded chicken it's good and guacamole is always fresh and green! Wasn't too happy with the chips but not bad. I Will definitely come again to try different things on their menu. The place is always clean inside, lots of seating and big screens TVS.the service is ok. You order at the front counter and seat yourself.

My new favorite place to get tacos! I am obsessed with the Al Pastor and quesobirria. My mom loves the carnitas. They are friendly and quick. The food is consistent every time! I always get my food to go but there is a lot of seating and the restaurant is clean. I highly recommend!

Las Cabañas is obviously a local's favorite, seen a bunch of folks just pick up their order. The food has that basic but great Mexican taste. I got the carne asada fries and my plate was full, I should have got a little box to go..FYI. Go light on the salsa. A little goes a long way. But if you want more. The salsa bar is self-serve..

Nina and I saw this place in a Chronicle write up of the best fish tacos in the Bay Area. It was amongst the top 10. We came here today for lunch. It's in the little strip mall on MLK where Ono Bakehouse was, in the block north of TJ's. I had passed by it when walking to Ono Bakehouse from the rooftop parking lot, which looked closed today, w/ grill-work grates closing off the entrance and exit ramps. I wanted to go to TJ's after lunch, so I parked in their lot and we walked over. There were several people at tables eating in and the restaurant looks like it does a robust takeout business, judging by the wrapped packages stacked on the counter. It's an order and pay at the counter type of place. Nina ordered first, two Baja fish tacos which come w/ chips and two cups to fill w/ salsa from the salsa bar. She ordered a pineapple agua fresca to drink. I ordered two Baja fish tacos as well, w/ horchata to drink. I took Nina's drink to the table and the sweet young woman at the register brought mine. We sat at a table that was half booth seating w/ the other half chairs. Nina went to get salsas and I went to use the single unisex bathroom, which was nicely tiled and immaculate. By the time I returned to the table our food was being served. The tacos were flour and they were generously filled w/ fried fish, probably cod, judging from the taste, topped w/ pico de gallo and a slice of avocado w/ a wedge of lime to squeeze over them. The tacos were so generously filled that we needed to eat some of the pieces of fish w/ a fork before we could close them. Although I prefer corn tortillas these were good, not too thick and I had the corn chips to give me my corn fix. These chips were thicker than the ones at Taqueria La Cocina, and lightly salted. We were both pleased w/ our lunch and will return. The space is beautifully decorated, w/ a colorful mural painted on the south wall, which Nina had as her view as we ate and talked. My back was to it. I should have taken a photo of it but didn't think of it until I got home.

We've eaten at Las Cabañas several times now, and it has been hit and miss. Things we liked:- They are open late.- Their carnitas is (are?) excellent -- tasty and generally good portions.- We've been happy with the tacos, and the burritos are decent.- The salsa barThings we didn't like:- Our chimichanga had too much cheese and not enough meat. - The taco salad was too small and not special in any way.- They were out of sopes the night we tried to order them. The service has been adequate but not noticeably good. Parking is free on the street nearby. Value is acceptable. We have not had the chance to order their fajita special, which might be a better deal (it basically means a complimentary agua fresca with your chicken or beef fajitas).Bottom line: This is on our list of options, especially because it is open late, but we have already found better spots in the area.

I have finally decided after the umpteenth time of coming to pick up food that should be ready and they just start making it when I'm literally the only person in the restaurant, I have to write a review about the service. It is terrible. All the employees are nice, but they don't know how to manage their time, orders, or the various apps they take orders with. If they weren't literally the closest restaurant to my apartment, then I would never be returning simply for the service. Food is delicious though when they get your order right, which happens maybe 50% of the time (they miss add ons or put stuff in you ask them not to put in). Please know what you are getting into if you order. Sadly, I will be returning as it is close, open late, and the food is good, but the service is severely lacking.

Food is amazing i ordered the chilaquiles but i thought it was hilarious the small amount of chips they give you especially when there's more than one person eating . Their salsa is very good though

As a first-time customer, my experience was underwhelming. Upon entering, neither of the two employees at the entrance acknowledged me. After waiting, I had to ask if I should seat myself, only to be told that orders are placed at the front. I ordered a caldo de res and sat down, but the cashier called me back to ask if I wanted chips. She handed me a very small disposable container for the chips and an equally small plastic cup for salsa, about 1/2 of what can be found anywhere else and she pointed me to the small salsa bar. The soup had good flavor but was nothing out of the ordinary and smaller that most soups in San Francisco. The space was clean, with cute art on the walls, a single bathroom (lacking toilet seats and toilet paper). They have multiple TVs in the dining area which is convenient during a sporting event.
