Got the wedding cake from Venus and used the flowers provided by my wedding florist. The cake turned out to be just the way I wanted. Very simple and elegant. We enjoyed the cake tasting experience and picked lavender earl grey, which was unique and not too sweet. Venus was responsive and helpful and the price was reasonable. Highly recommended!

Venus did a wonderful job with my daughter's first birthday cake, cookie favors, and French macarons favors. It was a very delicious Meyer lemon cake. Well detailed designs and yummy on the cookie favors and the French macarons favors.

Venus has been so professional, kind, & understanding through this entire journey. My husband & I truly appreciate her time & letting us move our May 2021 wedding to May 2023 because the Pandemic. Venus created the desserts for my wedding and they were delicious, highly recommend. We got an earl grey cake for cutting and then a little spread for a dessert table - verrines, cupcakes, etc. with a variety of flavors. Love her flavors and she worked with the venue to make sure none of the desserts were melted or stale by dessert time.

Venus supplied an array of desserts for our wedding--including mango and strawberry panna cotta cups, fudge caramel custard trifle cups, and tiramisu cups. They were absolutely delicious and a hit with our guests! Venus also did a great job of making sure the desserts were delivered on time, refrigerated properly before serving, and setting them up in an elegant fashion. She was very easy to work with throughout the planning process, answering numerous questions about the various dessert options and providing recommendations on flavor combinations and dessert quantities. I would highly recommend Venus for all of your dessert needs!

Venus is a treasure and her cakes are magnificent. For our wedding, the most important thing for us was to have a cake that tasted at least as good as it looked. Our tasting was a blast, we got to sample a half dozen flavor combinations from Venus's wide assortment of bright and exotic offerings, while getting to know Venus, hearing fun stories, and learning that she grows her own passionfruit! Who doesn't want that in a baker?With multiple great flavors to choose from, we ultimately fell in love with a lemon + thyme cake with passionfruit curd and cream cheese buttercream. We had a very rough idea of what we wanted it to look like, a modern design with flecks of colors and rice paper flowers, and with just a vague description and a couple reference photos, Venus executed it perfectly. The finished cake was gorgeous and delicious, and the price utterly reasonable. We can't wait until we have an excuse to commission another!

Our wedding planner introduced us to Venus. And boy, Venus is so popular. I'm so glad we reached out to her months in advance. Even though she makes cakes/desserts for multiple weddings per week, she knows when she has too much on her plate because she wants to make sure each couple/ party is well taken care of. I love how her style is less sweet (for all my Asian family members) and how detailed she is with her work. We initially met at her studio to pick up our cake and dessert tasting boxes. I thought it would be a 5-minute appointment, but my husband and I had a great talk with Venus. She is very knowledgeable, you can ask her about the different clients she has had and how she tailored it. She also knows a lot about the different venues and even brought up little details to consider on our wedding day that never crossed our minds. She did mention that she might be cutting back on the number of clients so my biggest advice is to book her ASAP. Her cake/desserts were a big hit at our wedding! I highly recommend!

The wedding cake of our dreams! Venus is a true gem! We hired her initially just for our wedding cake and left the tasting with additional desserts to add to our reception menu.Her flavor choices and combos are outstanding, and we had an amazing tasting experience with her at her studio. Bonus points: she has great food recommendations too! Overall, Venus was one of the best vendors we worked with for our dream wedding, will definitely be ordering more desserts from her in the future.Thanks so much Venus!

We had the best wedding cake I've ever had at our wedding. It was really important to us that the wedding cake actually tasted good as well as looked good. Venus creates beautiful unique flavors, and really caters to Asian palettes. The cake tasting was so much fun; some of the best cupcakes I've ever had. We settled on vanilla sponge with Earl Grey butter cream and milk tea custard dollops. Our guests LOVED our cake, and many guests went back for second and third slices. Venus was such a find, we will definitely be back to order more cake for anniversaries and events.

Venus makes the most delicious desserts! Our wedding planner had recommended her when we had mentioned we were looking for Asian-inspired flavors. We ended up ordering a small 20 serving cake just for decoration/ cake cutting, and a spread of macarons, verrines, and panna cotta as a dessert buffet. I'd say that communication was hit or miss as we tried to also order desserts for my bridal shower, but she never responded to that request. I still give La Vie Douce 5 stars because the desserts are truly that tasty and unique!
