La Farine Bakery

My favorite bakery in Berkeley. They have a wide range of baked goods, pastries and cakes. I can safely say that I've tried most of their items and here's what I consistently get. 1) Fruit tart 5/5 - Both the individual or cake size is delicious and I love how they vary the fruit from cake to cake so you can choose your favorite. The berries are always so sweet and plump even not in season. But because it's so fresh I recommend eating it the day you get it or else the crust will get soggy 2) Croutons 5/5 - My number one croutons used from Whole Foods but unfortunately they're seasonal. Now I have a place I can get them any time I want 3) Baguette / Roast beef sandwich 5/5 - The best sandwich at this shop and of course the bread it's on is freshly baked 4) Granola 4/5 - I also get this to top my and my daughters yogurt. I like how it has a lot of seeds and isn't too sweet5) Croissants and varieties 3.5/5 - Although these aren't the best I've ever had, they're predictable and easy to have throughout the week for breakfast. Bonus: the ladies helping are always so sweet :)

So is my daughter's 17th year around the sun and she wanted a chocolate cake with raspberry whipped cream. I instantly thought of how good La Farine Bakery cake was the last time I had a slice. So luckily they had one left ,and I purchased it. We had a wonderful small family party and the cake was good, but not quite how i remembered it. The only thing was the cake was a bit dry and the raspberries were very tart and made my daughter's tongue sore. But, I still would recommend maybe during the summer the raspberries would be better

Consistent cakes & Fruit tarts that we keep returning for most of our celebrations.Their prices are average & quality superb.Since they have had several break in's & money stolen, I hope people continue to support them & help keep small business' like these alive & well.

I just love La Farine! Exquisite croissants, delicious bread, amazing cookies, and everything is beautiful!

The fruit tart at this bakery is one of the best I've tasted! Parking was easy in the back of the building, and there are other businesses in the area like the popular Farmer Joe's marketplace. I was in and out of the bakery within 5 minutes. Staff is friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this bakery if you are looking for fresh bake goods and fruit tarts!

They have the best fresh cookies ever...variety of deliciousness to choose from. They also have yummylicious quiche better to irder them before hand it sells out fast the staff mentioned they open at 700am order ahead of time those are the first to sell out.

This is my go-to spot for the most delicious fruit tarts! Each one is beautifully made, with flavorful filling. Headed to a party and w no time to prepare? This is it! Not only do they taste amazing, but they also make for a stunning centerpiece. Every time I bring one to a party, people love it--and there are never any leftovers!

Love, love, love their fruit tarts. I was never a fruit tart person but this place has changed that forever. The fruit tarts are delicious. You can tell the fruit is fresh. The filling is not super sweet and they don't add any of that sugar spray most tarts have. You have to try the fruit tart!

Local bakery that is our go to spot. Come to grab some pastries for breakfast tomorrow, cookies, and a baguette. I also love their fruit tarts. The bakery is clean. Service is always great and efficient. They were stocking the bread and bringing in more pastries and goods from the truck when we were there today.

They have a great fruit tart and baguettes. Parking can be tough out front but you can park in the CVS parking lot and walk across the street. I haven't tried everything here because I just can't stop buying my regular faves. I have a friend that flies in from AZ to buy the tart and take it home!
