La Chona Restaurant

A local shop owner mentioned La Chona for a bite to eat while we were in the area.The food was great, traditional Mexican dishes. We came in for lunch on a Saturday. There was a fair amount of seating available to pick from.We had the super burrito, a steak quesadilla, and quesabirra. They had a lamb or beef option for the birra, and my partner got one of each. He mentioned it was a lot of meat in each, and that they could have used a bit more cheese.Limited parking.

Went there just looking for something to eat and ended at this place ordered 6tacos and wet burritos at first the girl was giving us the wrong order so we swapped plates then she also gave us the wrong burritos bout time i realized it he had already eaten half and the cook noticed what was going on and came then ended up making me a whole new burritos free of charge so I ended up leaving paying for two burritos and six tacos but left with three burritos and the taste was excellent

Food is good, tasty and hearty. Really love their homemade tortillas. Delivery is also quick.

Walking into this restaurant I immediately felt the true hispanic feeling and welcome. As soon as we sat down the server brought us chips and salsa and gave us the menu to be ready to eat. The restaurant had a pleasant ambiance with music playing in the background as well as the 49ers vs Raiders game which was also very entertaining. In terms of food I ordered a Burrito Regular de Asada as well as an Agua de Horchata and both were amazing. The Burrito had a HUGE amount of meat and flavor which is very rare nowadays where the burritos are instead filled with mostly rice and beans. At this restaurant though it was the complete opposite where I was able to taste the meat in every single bite. For the Horchata I also very much enjoyed this drink and its flavor. The only thing I wish was different was that the Horchata had ice so that the drink stayed cold instead of getting warmer over time. Other than that though I really enjoyed eating here and would 100% come back and eat here :)

Restaurant needs many improvements, starting with the smoke absorption hood in the kitchen: the place is filled with a lot of smoke throughout the restaurant that makes your stay uncomfortable when eating inside its location and secondly, the music they play is too loud that the same employees have to shout at each other to communicate and finally the restaurant charges you a fee for paying with a debit card. Restaurante necesita de muchas mejoras, empezando por la campana de absorción de humo en la cosina :el lugar se llena de bastante humo en todo el restaurante que te hace incomodo la estadia al comer dentro de su locacion y segundo la música que ponen esta demasiado alta que los mismo empleados tienen que gritarse para comunicarse y por ultimo el restaurante te cobra una tarifa por pagar con tarjeta de débito.

It was my first time, recommended by a friend and I Must Say it was delicious!!! The service was horrible because once we sat down all kitchen cooks were lined up staring like we were going to go to war. Waitress was not welcoming. So if you plan to visit be advice service isn't great but food(menudo) is great!

En mi opinión no es un lugar familiar mas bien es una especie de cantinaLa comida de muy mal gusto sin sabory mi plato de fajitas mix me la dieron bien quemada y la carne y el pollo con los camarones se veia bien negra por la plancha que se ve que no la limpianEl servicio al cliente frioy muy distante del cliente los precios altos para el lugar sucio y desorganizado y el humo de la cocina bien fuerteojo si van a pagar con tarjeta hasta en eso el servicio muy malotiene que pagar $3.00 extrapor último fue una aventura estacionarme y salir del lugar que es bien pequeñito Lo siento por dar estos comentarios que suenan negativos pero esa fue mi experiencia Yo no vuelvo!

I was told my order would be ready in 20 min. Took almost and hour. Molcajete was around the usual price for one but did not have nopales, cebollitas, or chiles. It was not very flavorful at all. Tacos campechanos were good. Tortillas were hand made. But the shrimp cocktail was not great. Shrimp are tiny, barely any avocado and flavor was not there. Would not recommend.

Excellent customer service and tacos were massive. I only ordered 2 and they suggested i sit down and they wanted to serve me even though was a small amount being ordered. Brought chips and salsa out too
