KYU2 Sushi is such a reliable comfort spot for me in Emeryville! If you're looking for great sushi that won't break the bank, this is the spot. The staff here are seriously the sweetest, and honestly, I wish more people knew about this place--they deserve all the love.I mainly come for their sushi rolls, and they never disappoint. The quality is solid, and they even get creative with cute sauce decorations that make your plate feel a little extra special. The restaurant is super clean, and the vibe leans quiet and chill--perfect for a low-key sushi night.There's never a wait, and we're always seated right away (a rarity for good sushi places, right?). I will say their happy hour deals have thinned out over the years, but honestly, I don't mind since I'm all about their specialty rolls anyway.If you're in the area and craving sushi, definitely check them out. We love coming here. Never had a bad experience and the Sushi is delicious. We often get the specialty rolls. Dragon, 49ers, Spider are among our favorites, Unagi & Tuna are so good as well. The fish is so fresh. Great selection of Sake as well. The staff is super friendly & prices are reasonable. Give them a try.

Wanted to like this place because the staff are so nice, but the food here is not good. We ordered the chicken bento katsu and the chirashi don. The chirashi don is not good. The sushi rice tasted like it was rotten. Also the fish isn't fresh.The chicken katsu wasn't bad. I most likely won't come here again.

KYU2 holds a special place in my heart. We came here for dinner. This place is very cozy and clean.Fishes are fresh. The special rolls are very good combination of ingredients and presentation is beautiful. Here also has small plates for appetizers, we ordered fried potatoes, , fried calamari. It's all good. Special thanks to Nuchy for giving us the best service as always with her sweetest smile even when the busy time.

A cozy place to rest and consume comfort food. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable explaing menu items that we didn't understand. I read that otherreviewers found the service slow. That was not myexperience. Our party of 3 arrived at 11:31 as they were opening and we were served quickly.

Working in the area and wanted to satisfy my Japanese food craving for lunch. There were only a couple of patrons there but the place was clean. Service was good but the price point to what you get was kinda disappointing compared to other similar places I have been to.

Yes, the artwork with the sauce is truly beautiful. However, this was a really disappointing rainbow roll. For $17 it would have been nice to have more than three scraps of fish.

It makes me so sad that KYU2 does not get more love! I first fell in love with KYU2 sushi for their veggie roll with cream cheese and sweet potato *chefs kiss* I have not been able to find that kind of veggie roll anywhere else. The sushi is always delicious and beautifully plated (see photo)! They have good happy hour deals and even let us have the HH deal on our beers at 7pm on a Saturday It's a cute date night spot, I love the kitschy decor and the pop song covers. The staff is super warm and sweet. Don't sleep on KYU2 sushi in Emeryville!
