Kyoto Ramen Hawaiian BBQ

This might be the best "fast food" Hawaiian place I've been to in the Bay Area! My bf got the loco moco and he said the gravy was the best -- and that's including in Hawaii!!! The patty was a bit dry, could tell it was frozen. But most times at these types of joints, they are lol. I got the garlic shrimp and I loved how it came already peeled. Mac salad: 5/5Veggie portion: 5/5Rice portion: 5/5Love that they have chili oil at each table. Decided to eat in even though we ordered take out and they realized and brought us waters without us saying anything! They were pretty busy with lots of to-go orders so I would def order ahead.

Got the garlic shrimp as a gluten-free option, it was a good amount of food for $16. As you'll see in the second photo, I was able to take basically half of my plate home for another meal later. It looked like they had just recently opened based off of the sign in the front. Parking was easy since it's in a shopping center, and the food came quickly. You walk up and order and then sit down, they bring the food to you when it's ready which is a service I appreciate. Went around 3 PM for lunch, and it didn't seem busy at all so we were able to find a seat very easily. To be honest, I've had better garlic shrimp, but I also lived in Hawaii for a couple of years so I think my standards are just high. I still very much enjoyed the food I had, and I'm assuming that the Ramen would probably be a more reliable choice For people who can eat gluten. Very casual and quick vibes, like a lunch spot durning work or quick meal with friends. Wouldn't be the best for a date.

I ordered 1 tray of the chicken teriyaki for 40-50 people for my 40th birthday party. Everyone was raving about how juicy, tender, and delicious the chicken was! I highly recommend this for catering. Great price too. Good service as well.I also ordered 1 tray of white rice for 40-50 people.

Everything is reasonably priced. I got the spicy tonkotsu ramen and it came out quick. Water cups were brought out fast, but the water was room temp :( so I asked for a side of ice. The bbq is also good. Service could be better, the cashier could be more welcoming.

Don't let the 100 reviews fool you like they did me-- This is the best kept secret in town. I am moving nearby, and noticed after a day of signing paperwork (unfed! so hungry!) that I had this spot bookmarked nearby. Wednesday night @ 6pm... all tables but one were occupied. That doesn't include the constant stream of folks coming in to pick up their to go orders... this place is POPPING. Casual dining; order and pay at the register, then find yourself a seat. I asked the cashier what's good- he asked my preference. His answer was not correlated whatsoever to my stated preference, but I rolled with it. Chicken katsu curry (I asked for it extra spicy because like I said, this wasn't my stated preference). The wait wasn't speedy, but not too short (they took the time to cook this meal- not microwaved). Flavor was solid! Not comparable to some of the best Japanese curry & katsu that I have ever had, however it is a VERY close competitor and when you compare value, I think it's the ultimate winner. What threw me for a loop was the portion of food- this was enough food to literally feed two people. With a 15% tip, I only paid $17... I believe that they served me two chicken breasts worth of katsu, plus a healthy portion of rice, plus curry, plus broccoli. PHEW. Luckily I was starving, but I still took almost half the meal home! Excited to return and try more of the menu!

My Family and I were craving some Hawaiian BBQ and wanted to try something new, so I looked on yelp. After sorting through many restaurants and reviews I found Kyoto Ramen Hawaiian BBQ. Their menu had a WIDE variety. They honestly have a little bit of everything. Ramen, Tempura, Hawaiian, Poke, Seafood, Burgers, Fries and so much more!After taking a deep dive through the menu, we decided on 4 chicken combos. We placed our order over the phone. The gentleman who answered was very nice and repeated our order to make sure it was correct. He informed the order will be ready in 10-15 minutes. When I entered the restaurant there were a couple of tables to eat, which was nice to know for the future. When I went to the counter to pay for our food I was informed they only take card. Which was ok but kind of inconvenient especially since I planned on paying with cash. After a couple minutes my order was ready. After making it home it was time to eat. Let me tell you. It was well worth the wait. The food was absolutely AMAZING! Portion size was good, great value for your money. There were zero complaints on the food. Everything was cooked to perfection and it was delicious. I live 2 towns away and I'll happily make that drive especially when the food is this good.

I found Kyoto Ramen when it popped up on my Yelp home page. I bookmarked it and made a mental note to self to give it try. I was in the area today and this stopped in for a meal. First impression is the menu. It's too big! They serve everything from ramen to sushi to hamburgers. I was in the mood for ramen so I ordered my go to Tonkotsu ramen. Here's my impressions on food, service and ambiance. Food: Tankatsu ramen was delicious. Broth was flavorful with healthy portions of noodles and pork. I do want to come back and try the Hawaiian bbq. Service: Excellent. Ordering was easy and I received my meal quickly. I was brought a glass of water to my table.Ambiance: I'm seated at my table in the dining area and staring at supplies that should be in the back of the kitchen. Toilet paper, paper towels, napkins, a bloom, dust pan. For this alone, I can only give three stars. I'll gladly update my review once these items are relocated from the dining area.

We were out and about with The Princess and it was getting to be lunchtime. Where to eat where we could sit outside? We found Kyoto Ramen Hawaiian BBQ on yelp.com. We figured worst case scenario that if we couldn't sit outside with the dog, or if it was in direct sunlight, we could always find a park to go to.Fortunately, the two tables were in the shade. I sat outside while she went inside to place our order while we waited outside. She came back out with a Hawaiian Sun to drink. The server came out later with a plastic cup of ice, asking me if I'd like ice water. No, thank you.When our order was ready, he served it to us outside. This was service the way that service should always be whenever possible. Making the effort to make guests feel like guests and not just customers. She got herself an Aloha BBQ Mixed Plate with Kalbi Ribs, BBQ Beef and BBQ Chicken, Two Scoops Rice and One Scoop Mac Salad. I got a Triple Mix Poke Bowl over Brown Rice with Hamachi, Maguro & Sake. I opted to add all of the add-ons with Creamy Poke Sauce. The server checked with us one more time to make sure that we were still happy with everything and we were. I finished my Poke Bowl and she had some leftovers to take home. We both enjoyed our meals and even The Princess got a couple pieces of meat. We will definitely be back to try some additional flavors.

A hidden gem in a quiet plaza! This place serves Hawaiian , Chinese, Japanese, and Filipino food! Literally the best mix of Asian fusion ever!It's a fast food, casual, sit down dining, and service is pretty quick.The cashier didn't speak the best English, and or wasn't even accommodating, but overall def would come back to eat here again!

Very generous portions, and actually very good service here. Prices are very reasonable, we're very glad we found this place!
