Another regular visit to Kunjip for galbitangs and the quality remains high. We went on a weekday during lunch and it was quite empty. Service was speedy and food was fresh as usual!

Dating all of the way back to when I first started Yelping (oh so long ago), Kunjip has been high on my list of places to check out. At the time, I had heard tons of awesome things about them and, more impressively, that has only continued in the years since then. So, needless to say, I don't really have a good reason for not coming here sooner, especially since I've managed to check out other Korean eateries around Santa Clara that were lower on my list. That is, other than that I'm seemingly a stupid, stupid man for taking so long. Ugh...men, amirite ladies? Now, I have to admit - all of the positive things that I had heard about Kunjip certainly made it a lot easier to bear through some of the challenges of coming here. Both times I've been, parking has been somewhat tough, as the complex isn't that big and is also home to other popular eateries (including Tobang, which is also on my list...). There's typically a line for a table as well, but the wait at lunch is generally a lot shorter (it was about 15 mins compared to 45+ when we came for dinner). As for the menu, it's surprisingly modest, with just thirteen offerings - five Korean soups, three cold noodle dishes, two types of sooyuk, or three varieties of galbi jjim. However, what it may lack in quantity is more than made up for in quality, as every dish sounded so good!-- KKO RI GOM TANG - Ox Tail Soup with Green Onion and Dried Jujube...$30This may be a simple dish, but it was so, so good! I didn't expect the soup to be so milky white, but it had a rich, beefy element that I loved. As for the chunks of ox tail, they were delicious and cooked perfectly! Even though there was a fair amount of them, I wouldn't have minded more to devour!-- GALBI TANG - Beef Short Rib Soup with Clear Noodles, Green Onion, Dried Jujube, and Sliced Egg...$27Not quite as tasty as I was hoping for, but not too shabby either. Although this felt a bit light on meat compared to others I've had, each piece was tender and I liked how the broth was flavorful, had a good body to it, and was so comforting on such a cold night.-- GALBI JJIM - Beef Short Ribs with House Special Sauce, Sweet Pumpkin, Carrot, Broccoli, Rice Cake, Sesame Seeds, Sesame Oil, and Sliced Egg...$75This fell short of my favorite (Daeho in San Mateo), but it's still pretty solid. The short ribs were luscious and meaty and the rice cakes had a really nice chew for their size. That said, the taste of the sauce was surprisingly mild and, while I appreciated the veggies, I wish this had a bit more meat in it!Along with how largely satisfying everything was, the other thing I liked about Kunjip was the service. Across both visits, the staff was friendly and it never took long for our orders to come out. The latter also speaks to how relatively efficient they are - they do a good job of turning over tables quickly yet it never feels like you are being rushed out. Although I may not have been blown away by what I've tried here, I'd absolutely come back to Kunjip again! After I clear Tobang off my list, that is...

Went with some friends to try this place out. I had the Seol Leong Tang soup and we all shared the Maeun Galbi Jjim. The food came out quick and the servers are all very fast. The Seol Leong Tang was perfect for me because I wasn't feeling well. The soup was simple with seasoned salt and green onions to add on the side. I was surprised to see that the bowl had a lot of beef slices! The Maeun Galbi Jjim was not too spicy and the meat was so tender! The sauce was delicious as well. I ended up dipping the meat slices from the Seol Leong Tang with the sauce and it was great! The kimchi sides were also very delicious! Definitely recommend.

Got there early and avoided the big wait, which was a good play. Got the side dishes and rice brought out quick and the meal was served very fast too.I got the galbijjim, pretty good portion enough for 2 very hungry people or 3 people. The galbijjim spot Milpitas was definitely better but this one was still pretty good. I'd go back to try something else.

Comfort food that made me feel like I was in Korea! There aren't that many options but they nailed it on their noodles and soups, I got the cold spicy noodles, but their Galbitang broth was rich and not too oily and it was very reasonably priced too.Would definitely recommend checking this place out!!

Okay... this place is pretty popular, not just among Korean folks, but among many Asians. It gets really crowded during weekend lunch hours, so I recommend going a little earlier if you don't want to wait too long. The servers are decent not overly friendly, but they do their best. I personally think their side dishes are tastier than Daeho's. Most of their soup options are excellent, and on a cold day, there's nothing more comforting than a warm bowl of gomtang/kalimetang. Definitely a great spot!

Delicious, authentic Korean food. I love coming here for when I need a warm, hearty bowl of soup or when I'm feeling down/sick. I especially love their seollongtang! The staff are also fast and to the point. There's always a waitlist and it moves very fast (ie they call you and take you off fast if you're not there) so make sure to be near by or have someone from your party be around to hear your name being called.

Came here around 8:30pm on a Saturday and got seated right away. This place gets busy so you might want to avoid prime eating hours like 5:30-7:30 or get there early!! My friends and I came here because we were craving some soup and this is the perfect place because they have a variety of Korean soups. I ordered the galbitang and it came in this huge bowl, it had a ton of meat with some noodles as well. The broth was very rich and I like that you can season to your taste. It wasn't very salty so you can keep adding salt to your liking! I also really liked their banchan dishes, especially the radish, it was fermented well.

YUM! I came on a Sunday with friends around 11:00am and it got packed quickly. By the time we left, there was a wait. I think it's worth the wait depending on what you get.I got the guk-bap and it was delicious! Something so comforting about steaming hot and spicy bone soup. There was a perfect and good amount of meat so I felt the price was great. I haven't tried other items but I'd be back for the guk-bap and their kimchi. Very comforting and taste like home cook food but elevated. The inside is big and clean as well with great service.
