I love it here so much. It recently changed names. For a day I was full of panic when I saw that yelpers reported it closed. Thankfully it still exists so I can get my malatang fix! The veggies are fresh and the variety is plenty for me. I've heard other malatang places may have more variety in terms of meats, but I'm here for the fresh veggies (okay, maybe a slice of spam too!). The service is prompt and friendly. They give you a little water container for your table. Once you choose your ingredients you decide if you want soup or all ingredients stir-fried along with your spice level. I always go for the soup with spice 0.5 because it is absolutely delicious! It's like hot pot only much less work! They serve soju and beer along with other treats you don't typically see outside of Ranch 99. The spot itself is cute with Korean pop / food on the TVs. Everything is clean. They have a tiny parking lot. The only difference between the new name vs. old is now they have a weight minimum so your ingredients must be at least a pound. Not a problem for me because the leftovers are just as good! I've gotten take out as well and the items are packed carefully and thoughtfully. In short, I'm obsessed!! Thank you for being here in Oakland!!

I had a good dinner trying a new Malatang place with my friends here! We came on a rainy night, and luckily did not have to wait long before we were seated. We got to choose whether we wanted to have entrees, or make our own malatang bowls. We chose the latter, and this place had a decent amount of options. There were lots of veggies, and they seemed relatively fresh. They also had noodles and some seafood. To get extra beef or lamb, you would have to pay extra. I chose to have a soup base with 0.5 spice.About fifteen minutes later, our food came out sequentially. The broth was spicy for only being 0.5!! Definitely should have chosen 0 spice. The service was fine, and the place itself was big with lots of TVs showcasing mukbangs and K-pop MVs. I am glad I was able to try out Kung Fu Mala!

Had high expectations for this place for Korean style malatang but left very disappointed. First the soup based just taste like ramen -- tasted very fake and like ramen. The only positive thing was that there were a lot of ingredients to choose from which were fresh. Tried the stir-fry mala xiangguo too, but the sauce was way too salty for my taste buds. They do have a lot of other side menus which seems good, but it was too pricey. I don't think I will ever come here for malatang.

Replacement to Pixiu Malatang. Just as good as I remember. Rich soup, good service and ambiance (kpop). I do wish there was fish fillets as one of the ingredients.

I've been here a few times - I really enjoy the system of creating your own stir fry (they have bowls and tongs and you just load up on the fixings). And the most recent time I was here they noticed me eyeing the glazed fruit desserts, and they brought me a little bit to try!! I'm really impressed by the hospitality :)

Great service and options. Pretty straight forward but it's the options there's pictures showing the names of the items for ease. Highly recommend!
