Affordable place for good food. I ordered the chicken gyudon and it was pretty good for the price I paid. There are more options but I've opted for a comforting gyudon. I'd recommend the beef sukiyaki for a soupier experience.Service was "order first then get served", so nothing much to expect. Food was brought out in a timely fashion. Water and to go boxes were self serveIt was a bit empty when I went with my friend, but other than that it's a casual place for a quick meal.

We came here on a weekday with an empty restaurant and plenty of parking outside. The restaurant is spacious. When you arrive, you order at the counter and they give you a number with a choice to choose any table when you dine in. Quick turn around for ordering and getting the food. We ordered the stir fry udon and tonkatsu don. The tonkatsu was pretty good with some parts thicker than others. I appreciated the extra curry on the side. The udon was mid. The photos make it look so appetizing. For the price, the bowl was quite small with very little mushrooms and beef.

Kokolo Donburi is a casual Japanese restaurant that offers a variety of rice bowls. We came here on a Monday night and there was plenty of parking. You order at the counter and get to choose where you sit. We ordered the mixed tempura, katsu sauce rice bowls and sukiyaki. Nothing really wow'd me when it came to taste but the portions were really huge. The best item was the sukiyaki. The tempura was fried fresh. The katsu was pretty dry and they gave a lot of rice. Overall Kokolo Donburi is just okay. I don't think I would come back since nothing wow'd me.

The food here is great!!! It is a very standard donburi place but highly recommend if you are a fan of donburi. The inside of the restaurant is pretty big with cute art on the walls. The workers are also very nice and polite.

My cousin & I had dinner at Kokolo Donburi on a Sunday night after watching the 49ers in nearby Santa Clara. We were starved so something with rice was definitely what we needed and were looking to have.I went with the gyudon ($15) and my cousin got the katsu don with egg ($15). We also ordered ika karaage ($9) and jidori karaage ($10) for appetizers. I like the gyudon i ordered but would have preferred no ginger on mine. The photo on the menu doesnt show or allude to any ginger in the description otherwise I would have opted to not have it. The meat was good, added soy sauce and mixed it all up with the rice and onions. Just what I needed after a long day at the stadium. My cousin liked his katsu don. He hadnt had one like that with the egg and it hit the spot for him. The chicken karaage was good and so was the squid. I liked both of them but enjoyed the squid more. Squeezed some lemon on them and used their provided dipping sauce. Good stuff. The chicken karaage was good. Moist not dry. Dipping sauce was the same as the one for the squid. We ordered a good amount and still had leftovers.Service was friendly. I think the gentleman that took our order was the owner. A young lady that was there and helping clean up looked to be a family member but I'm not certain. They were both nice & friendly. They both checked in on us and thanked us on our way out. The one thing I noticed that evening was some of the tables needed to be cleared. The man taking the orders was also the one clearing the tables when he had a chance... Nice people, we would for sure go back. I would try a sukiyaki don or katsu don next time. Plenty of parking in their shared lot. @ entrances on either side of the establishment. Located off the 237 near the 880. They provide water. My cousin was ecstatic that they had Coke Zero. Ha!

Decent spot for some quick Japanese food like udon, curry katsu, etc. I got the chicken curry katsu and it was decent. The chicken skin was crispy. I also like how they provide the curry in a separate bowl, so you can portion it however you like with the rice plate. The beef bowl rice on the hand was drenched with curry, so that wasn't too nice. I suggest they give customer the option to have the curry on the side for the beef bowl similar to the chicken katsu.Other than, the service was good and the food arrived fast. Affordable price as well. This place was spacious, you order and pick your own table. They do bring the food to you.

i'll rate higher because of pricing and quantity if you're looking for a standard chicken katsu curry this might not hit the spot that's itching the curry is very sweet just keep that in mind that it's not your "typical" japanese curry it's sweeter and less umami but i did enjoy for what it was seperate than what i was expecting especially for the price and the portion! there were a lot of other items too so i'm sure there's something for everyone

Not a bad spot but nothing stands out at this place for me. The bowl was fine but it did not make me want to come back nor have I craved it since. A decent spot if you're just trying to find food.Easy to find parking.

First off, the service is outstanding! Big kudos to Sky (he took my order) and Neelam (hostess who brought out my food). These two rock!!! My parents are vegetarian and I always ask waiters/cashiers what their veggie options are. Sky was so helpful in helping pick good dishes and recommending customizations to set menu items so that they would be veggie friendly. Our food came out fast and Neelam brought out our food with a smile and kind manners! That means so much to me. My parents speak decent English but sometimes they need a little help and everyone here made us feel so welcome and NEVER and inconvenience, . Now the food: all our food was appropriately hot or warm accordingly. Curry is a little on the sweeter side which my dad loved. The Japanese spicy red chilli powder goes so good with the curry. Veggie tempura was crispy and not greasy! Came here at 6:30p on a Friday and there was plenty of seating. All tables were clean, well lit, and lovely decorations. Overall we loved our dining experience here and am certain we will be back. Great service goes a long way.
