Koja Kitchen is located within the food court at Westfield Mall and was one of the few restaurants that caught my attention among all the options. The restaurant has a Japanese appeal but made with Korean ingredients. The menu offers a variety, including burgers (Koja), tacos, bowls, poke bowls, wings, and more--though, in my opinion, the wide variety somewhat drowns out the name of the place. I decided to go with "The Original Koja," a burger/sandwich served with rice buns instead of bread. The cashier was nice and friendly, though a bit quiet. The food itself was great--the flavors of the meat were delicious and juicy. My only concern was the rice bun; as this was my first time eating one, it broke apart very easily and made quite a mess. I don't blame the food--I blame my inability to eat it properly. Adding an egg to my order may have contributed to the mess, but I still highly recommend it, as it may be the reason it tasted good. Overall, the food is easily a 5 out of 5, but since it's in a mall food court, the ambiance isn't anything special. Still, for what it is, it's definitely worth a try.

Had a chance to try Koja Kitchen yesterday at the Valley Fair mall and this was actually really yummy. This is located in the food court and if you are looking for burgers, fries or bowls this is a good place for you. This is a Korean Fusion inspired restaurant so if you are looking for that kind of food, you have found your place! For our order we got:* Chicken rice bowl: this was really good, it came with rice, juicy pieces of chicken (loved the marination), kimchi and salad. Overall it was really good and enjoyed every bite of this!* Fries (pulled pork ones) - I forgot the name but I always enjoy the coconut pulled pork and the sauce this comes with. This was very flavorful.Overall, my husband and I really enjoyed both dishes and would go back again!

I hate to make reviews based on customer service but unfortunately our experience last week led me here. After trying for a very long time to get the scanning chip reader to work through Apple Pay and my credit card, I tried to insert it. It was met with a large amount of attitude from the manager (older woman) aggressively yelling at me, saying it's "her machine, she knows how it works" (repeated many times). Okay, then do you mind... helping me, so that... it can work? It was an extremely unnecessary awkward situation and I wish I didn't have to make this because customer service is the easiest thing to control. The sauces were all out as well, which was sad since I felt the meal could've used some sort of sauce. I wanted to try this since there was such a hype for it circa 2016 but I was pretty disappointed.

Chicken Koja was good! It is like rice burger, crispy rice outside. It was mild spicy. Quick service!

The braised pork bowl was fantastic! Good generous portion & fresh yummy ingredient. The pork was cooked perfectly and it was melting in your mouth. The sauce was also really flavorful. The rice & salad balanced each other out. Food came out pretty fast & staff were nice. It's located it the mall, so pretty casual ambience with lots of scattered seating.

The food is fantastic. The short ribs are soft, tender, and full of flavor. I enjoy it as a bowl, it comes with steamed rice, greens, and kimchi, everything is delicious. If you'd rather have it as a burger style, order The Original, it's placed between rice patties instead of buns. This particular location is part if the food court in the mall so it isn't necessarily a restaurant. But there are lots of tables to enjoy your food at, or take it to go. It can get pretty busy on the weekends but they move fairly quickly and have a good system.

I got the taco combination plate. It came with tacos and fries. The fries were really yummy! The tacos were good as well - they are Asian style tacos so don't expect it to be the typical Mexican style ones. Service was good and you get free refills with your drink order. It's located in Westfield valley fair mall, inside the food court.Ambiance is what you would expect from a mall cafeteria

I wasn't really sure what to expect from Koja, other than the name and some wonky sandwich thing I needed to try. The small line got worked through pretty quick and they had a pretty swift turnaround from order time to pickup, so everything seemed to be smooth sailing in terms of operations. But does the OG Koja live up to hype??Honestly, I found it pretty dope and not all that bad for the price. Kalbi is expensive after all, but to bite into a crispy rice cracker exterior that's been caramelized and follow through with some really tender beef in a well balanced sauce? My only 'beef' (yes, yes I did) with it was the veggies that could do with a bit of kimchi or a bit more fermented oomph, but all-in-all I was quite happy with the sandwich. It's a cute and unique little niche and I'd happily munch on another one.

Original koja burger with pineapple and umami fries.ServiceIt was fast and the gave me the standard utensil, napkins. AmbianceTypical for what to expect at a mall food court.Food Standard Koja quality, all good and consistent as with all its other locations I've tried, good portion served fresh and made to order. Yum! Come here if you're hungry and need something filling in between shopping and other errands if you can handle something heavy.

It's been awhile since I've had Koja since they closed down near my house. This definitely hit the spot. Just sad they didn't have the short ribs available but the beef Koja is good, but could use a bit more spice. The rice was a bit too crispy for my liking. Made it hard to eat. The sweetness of the pineapple just balanced it out. Service was good. And since it's at the mall, there's plenty of seating around but it can get loud.
