If you're a fan of lunch and Korean food lol. Come here. It's a new, subtle eating experience to ask the kbbq's, soondubus, and jjigae that I'm used to.I came here for an easy solo lunch over the weekend. I did the soup/rice + 4 sides. I enjoy have tons of options so I can mix them up to try something new. You can tell how everything is done with care. This is def a lunch vibe for me. I couldn't tell you what any of it is called but I particularly liked the top left corner and top right corner sides.

The earlier 5 star review posted for Joodooboo me was an accident- it was meant for another restaurant. Sorry.I found Joodooboo to be only so-so. I went with a group of six. The food was bland, quite surprising for Korean cuisine. The portions were small. The seating options inside are very limited. Also, it was quite noisy throughout our meal. To cap things off as we finished eating we were subjected to a large number dishes crashing to the floor and breaking as some sort of dispute arose among the wait staff. All in all, it was a disappointment and none of us will return.

Had a fantastic first meal at Joodooboo today. I've been wanting to try this spot for some time, and so glad I was able to check it out.The arrowroot noodle dish was superb and a very inviting and refreshing mix of flavors, and the tofu in it was creamy and fresh.I think the star of the meal was the fried tofu plate though - all of it was good, but those first few bites of fried tofu with the dooboo sauce over perfectly cooked rice were divine. You could easily turn a non-tofu eater into a tofu eater with this dish alone. Thank you for a great meal and stellar service!

This place is so good!!! Healthy korean food. Their menu is simple, but I love how they prepare fresh veggie-forward banchans (side dishes). Getting the Nori Acorn Noodle Bowl + Banchan (4 choices) was a satisfying meal for two friends where we could try a bit of everything!!! First, the acorn noodle bowl was so good!!! We added fresh homemade tofu & perfectly marinated eggs. Noodles are chewy and I loved the sesame nori dressing. The pickled mushrooms, kimchi, and cucumbers were fresh and great accompaniment. The HOMEMADE TOFU was also soft and had great texture. Very mild as tofu can be. Honestly, I came for the tofu, but left impressed and craving everything else. For the banchan - we got Kabocha Squash, Cauliflower, Rice Thief, Radishes. Everything was so good. Our favorites were probably the Cauliflower and Kabocha Squash. We also got a side of rice, which you'll probably appreciate it with the Rice Thief! The place is small, but you can see the team crafting the side dishes. Even when we came before opening, there was already a small line. I wish I lived near here so I can get banchan to go weekly!

Big fan of the acorn bowl with fried dooboo (tofu)! So fresh and delicious. Their special was a mackerel sashimi which was also tasty. Limited indoor and outdoor seating but small and intimate with an open kitchen. Plenty of street parking around. Highly recommend for high quality, fresh, tasty dishes and friendly staff.

A tofu lover's dream! This spot makes their tofu in-house, and if you're lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of the tofu-making process at the bar. Ordering is done at the counter, and your food is brought to your table. We tried the fried dooboo set ($20), which came with their signature house-made tofu, served alongside rice, tofu soup, a salad, and an assortment of their banchan. This week's banchan included a pickled persimmon that was good. While the portions may seem small, it is surprisingly satisfying and will leave you feeling full. You can also purchase their tofu and banchan to-go. I highly recommend!

What an interesting concept of a restaurant--I would have never imagined a restaurant whose focus was primarily tofu (dooboo). There is no table service, order at the counter and pick up your order when ready. Seating was outside on my visit. They don't serve your traditional Korean foods, but is focused primarily on the side dishes (banchan) as the main component and star of your meal. The dishes are very seasonal and their tofu is in house made--everything is very fresh. The dishes are all very flavorful and a modern take on Korean banchan. The banchan changes weekly--always something new. Even if you're not vegetarian, it is worth checking out.

Just moved to West Oakland and was craving Korean food. Joodooboo was perfect. Only a few indoor seating spots but next time I'm in need of some take out, this will be the place.

Joodooboo is a tofu lover's dream come true! I first discovered them at the Berkeley Farmers Market on a Saturday, and I am so glad I did. They make their tofu fresh in-house, and you can really taste the difference. The quality is top-notch--creamy, smooth, and so flavorful that you can eat it straight from the container. No seasoning needed; it's that good!In addition to the tofu, they have a fantastic selection of banchan. I picked up the corn and gai lan banchan, and both were incredibly fresh, vibrant, and felt nourishing. The ingredients are clearly high quality, and the flavors are balanced--healthy without skimping on taste.Yes, it's a bit pricier than your average tofu, but it's absolutely worth it for this level of quality and care. Joodooboo has definitely raised the bar for tofu and banchan in the Bay Area. Highly recommend seeking them out at the farmers market, for good friendly vibes.

Unique dishes that feel like homestyle cooking, but at a steep price with smaller portions. I'm glad I got to try this spot, but prefer some of the more standard Korean options. This is a super casual restaurant where there's pretty limited seating and a few small tables and you can order upfront.
