One of the worst cookies I've ever eaten. Super dry and no flavor. Almonds taste stale.Couple of elderly guys smoking on the patio right under a big no smoking sign.

I am (by no means) an expert in Korean pastries. But, I surely can discern a yummy treat and wonderful service and vibe! I stopped in and came home with a bag full of treats. I thought they were delicious. The woman who helped me was so friendly. Made my day.

Cute little bakery! The pastries were tasty, however I thought they were a little dry. I ordered an iced white mocha and it was perfect! Service here is super friendly and puts a smile on your face. I highly recommend stopping by for a small treat!

Came here on a Monday with a friend and managed to order very quickly! The location is nothing remarkable, just a shopping square near downtown Santa Clara. It's easy to skip past it, but I discovered it when looking through Yelp for a place to grab a coffee and chat. They only let you use card if you have a minimum $8 purchase, so keep that in mind (either take some more of their delicious pastries, or be prepared to fork over cash!)I picked a turnover that didn't have a label (turned out to be cherry) and a sort of matcha Swiss roll. They were out of the club sandwich since they didn't have any vegetables, which was a bummer! My friend picked what was labeled to be a red bean dorayaki, but actually had strawberries and cream inside? Mildly concerning for anyone who happens to have food allergies, the cashier speaks halted English so I'd recommend going with someone who understands/speaks Korean if you have any allergies to be safe. Unfortunately, that's not a luxury that can be afforded by some people. There was no one else inside, just another table with elderly Korean people. They have a rule where people are only allowed to sit inside for an hour, but we stayed a little longer (likely due to being enforced when foot traffic is high). The inside is nice and cozy, perfect for a chat and I don't have complaints about the food (besides the obvious labeling mishap). I don't think my friend was a big fan of the vanilla iced latte with soy milk that she ordered, unfortunately. Their hours are long and their prices are cheap (for Bay Area, at least) so this is a great place to go to for convenience sake.

I wasn't going to write a review, but then I saw Croissante across the street and got upset that I wasted my money. I'm sure this place is five stars if you're a middle-aged Korean man, as there were seven of them there deep in conversation, enjoying their beverages and pastries on a weekday afternoon. If you're not going there for a specific Korean pastry, drink, or sweet potato "latte" - RUN across the street to Croissante for some actually consistently delicious pastries.I was fooled by the old menu photos: "Oh wow, $4.25 for a breakfast sandwich!" I ordered the newly priced and overpriced The Wake Me Up, and it was a snooze. I'd bet and probably win that it was a stale Costco croissant, with Kraft cheese, basic deli ham, and a microwaved egg. What I couldn't understand is why they served the egg hot and everything else cold?!I also tried the misnamed sweet potato latte cold. Latte implies coffee, and it has zero, which is for the best as it would override the very subtle sweet potato flavor. It was fine, but I don't see myself ever craving to come back for it. I'm sure an oppa would rate this place higher, but for me personally, the food was three stars and the sweet cashier provided four-star service.P.S. If anyone visits, please take a photo of the new menu pricing!

Wow very disappointed!!! I can't believe they have so many positive reviews. My husband went in to buy some snacks while I waited in the car. He got a croissant which was ok then a palmier which was the worst offender, it tasted so stale the puff pastry was hard as a rock and I could barely chew the bite I got cause it was so hard and sticky. My husband took a bite and said it definitely seemed old and stale. Then he got some red bean mochi which also didn't seem fresh. Very disappointed because we thought this would be a convenient place to grab a snack since we are in the area a couple times a week. Will not be back.

This is a very high - end, high - quality traditional bakery with things you cannot find in other places. It might strike you as a little pricey the first time you are in the door, but worth it, and the personnel is very helpful in answering questions. A great place for meeting -- rendez - vous point and so on as welll, and do try the pastries. Great!

3.5 STARSWhen I walked into Jin's Bakery, I saw a Korean auntie gently cradling two golden balls in her hands...I was like ( o _ O ).I'll have what she's having!Jin's is an old-skool Korean bakery and one of two locally-owned Korean bakeries (not just a rice cake shop) in the Bay Area.So...whatever auntie is getting, I must get too!Because AZN aunties know the good good. And, she was right because those golden balls were the best item of the bunch!By the way, hours on yelp are wrong. The handful of times I had dinner in the same plaza, Jin's Bakery was already closed by 5:30-6 pm (not 10 pm).M E N UArray of Korean baked goods, pastries, and cakes. Limited savory items. American salad, breakfast and lunch sandwiches.Tea, coffee, and smoothies.Major gripe: Not everything is labeled and priced. And, some baked goods were uncovered in the self-serve area. Couldn't help but think of some customers touching them with their dirty hands, trying to pick the "best" one.Takeout only. No indoor seating but there's an outdoor patio on the side with a handful of tables where you can enjoy your pastries and coffee/tea.Lone staff (owner) wore a mask properly.Cc's accepted with $7 minimum.I came here specifically for the sweet potato cake but it's only available whole (no slices). It's hard to commit to buying an entire cake without tasting it so I hope the owner considers offering the sweet potato cake by the slice. I couldn't leave without buying something so I choose several other items to try.M Y P I C K S* Chapssal: Korean Glutinous Rice Ball Doughnuts w/ red bean filling (2 pc - $4.50): https://bit.ly/3K4LCRmCrispy on the outside with a satisfying qq chew and a generous amount of sweet red bean filling. A bit oily but that's to be expected. Similar to Chinese jian dui but without the sesame seeds and a thinner glutinous rice exterior. Best item of the bunch - thank you, auntie!* Potato Croquette Bun w/ ham, onions ($2.75): https://bit.ly/3MdlwO6I enjoyed the bun itself - golden brown, crispy panko crusted exterior and fully soft interior. Not a fan of the filling, semi-mashed potatoes with ham and onions. Like a mayo-less potato salad, it was dry and bland.* Hotteok: Korean sweet pancake w/ brown sugar filling ($2.50): https://bit.ly/3swwGWl***Pan fry to warm upThis was ok, didn't seem fresh as the glutinous rice lost its chew and elasticity.* Jjinppang-mandu: Steamed Pork Bun w/ glass noodles, green onions (4 pc-$7.50): https://bit.ly/3hyJLIA***Sold cold so you have to warm it up at homeLeast fav item; tasted like the ones from the freezer section of a Korean Market. They were sold cold so possibly defrosted in the morning. The filling was ok - mainly green onions and glass noodles and the bun was wet/soggy on the bottom.S E R V I C EThe owner is super sweet and gracious for the business. She speaks limited English so there may be a language barrier but she does her best to be helpful.A M B I A N C EOld-skool minimalist.P A R K I N GEasy parking in the plaza.Overall, I didn't find anything I loved at Jin's Bakery...YET but I rather support a small local Korean bakery over big chains like Paris Baguette and Tous Les Jours so I'll be back. Possibly for more golden balls...

Cute little old school Korean bakery. Love the variety of pastries and cookies. Sweets both western and Korean/Japanese. I especially love that they have herbal tea, like real herbal tea with lots of stuff inside. It was so good I went home and added hot water to it because I didn't want it to end. The cookies are delicious and the pastries are perfect. No complaints here. The lady at the counter was so cute and so nice. Don't be intimidated that it's all older Korean ladies and men. They mind their own business and so will you. ;)

Went in here because of an earlier review that called it a "high end bakery". But it's just a bunch of random cookies and bread rolls sold wrapped in plastic and a coffee selection you might see in a classroom building of a community college. Were they thinking of a different business?
