Got a burger after a workout and it was cooked well and everything was fresh. Perfect diner burger if that makes any sense. Thefries were fresh and I got a side of ranch. It was early afternoon and they weren't busy. The service was friendly and the banter was fun. Lots of booths and tables. Kinda an alternative to Ole's without the wait and cried.

Many a times, I had seen the line out the door on weekends at Jim's. The other day, we were hungry for breakfast and didn't want to visit our usual haunts, so we drove to Jim's. They have a parking lot to the left of the restaurant, another bonus!It wasn't super busy when we walked in, maybe four or five other tables in use. We were told to pick a table and menus were presented as soon as we sat down and drink orders were taken. We both ordered coffee. The menu is an extensive breakfast and lunch menu. We were there for breakfast, so we didn't pay much attention to lunch items.My standard order for breakfast restaurants is Chicken Fried Steak, Eggs over easy, Hash Browns, Biscuit and Gravy. For some unknown reason, when the server took my order, the last thing I said to her was, "lotsa gravy all over everything". And if you look at my picture, the only place where there wasn't any gravy was on my biscuit. And it was all delicious!She got Corned Beef Hash with Eggs and Hash Browns with Wheat Toast. She also enjoyed her breakfast and was quite happy that her toast came buttered on both sides. These were great large breakfasts with lots of good food. We both ended up taking some home for breakfast the next day. Even the coffee was pretty good, something that's not always true at diners.Service was excellent and we'll definitely be back for other flavors.

My partner and I went here for brunch a few days ago. The customer service was one of the best we have even experienced. They even offered to give me toast with my meal when it didn't come with my order. I definitely plan on coming back here again!

Went to Jim's for breakfast and it was busy but spacious. Loved be columns and the green vintage booths. We were seated right away and got our drinks and food quickly. Huge portions, and everything tasted good. I had a simple three eggs with toast and home fries, my partner had chicken fried steak.Come for the affordable food and large portions, and fun diner space!

Sad to say but this place has gone down hill. It used to be the spot to go to but sadly the quality is just not good. They used to have chicken fried steak to die for... now it's a dinner menu item??? Got a simple BLT with and the whole thing was horrible. The side fruit was gross and my buddy's meal was just awful. $50 for those two items? NOT WORTH IT!Service was a bit slow for a half packed place and the ambience just seemed nonexistent.:(

Would have done no stars if possible let me tell yall about this establishment . They charged me $34 for 4 scrambled eggs . I ordered an egg scramble . I've had egg scrambles all over this country so there was a standard and expectation . I have never in my life had one this small or expensive. Don't get me wrong it was good . Just walk with me for a second a dozen eggs is less than $10 and takes 5 minutes to make why the hell is this itty bitty ass portion $25 before tax and I really want an answer .

Went to Jim's Café for breakfast. Haven't been there in a minute., have a hot links 3eggs hashbrowns and white toast, Service was great and fast like always waitresses were really attentive to me and other customers, one of my favorite breakfast spots...

I go to Jim's (the Main Island one) when I want a good old, non foo-foo, American breakfast, lunch, or early supper with no waiting. Old school coffee shop look with booths, tables and counter seating. Large, uneven and holey parking lot on the side and in the back of the restaurant. If you're lucky, you'll get to sit in a booth with duct tape on the bench seating. There's a charm to the 70s style look.As for food, you'll have traditional breakfasts like omelettes, pancakes, hash browns, eggs any style, while for lunch and early supper, you'll choose from sandwiches, burgers, steak, fried chicken, pasta, etc... if you're looking for coffee shop faire - Jim's will likely have it along with a decent cup of coffee.We had: - Patty Melt, medium 1/2 pound burger with fries. Decent patty melt while fries need more pizzazz.- Fried Chicken with Veggies, Mashed Potatoes, Soup, and Garlic Bread. A full meal for less than $20.Overall, good, inexpensive, coffee shop faire in a comfortable environment. Very good service.

Best Reuben since I left Chicago 20 years ago. Split pea soup was home made and meaty. Generous portions and good service. I know it's "just" a diner but they are doing the diner thing right.I'll be back...

Meh--came here with my family recently and wasn't super impressed. We were seated, given menus and ordered. The food was okay but service was lackluster. We had to ask for water several times and eventually gave up, and they took so long with the check we ended up just going to the counter.
