I first became acquainted with the The JCB Wine Tasting Lounge while attending an office holiday party at the Ritz Carlton San Francisco on December 7, 2018. The latest buzz is that this establishment is set to permanently close its doors by choice of the business owner on July 31, 2024. Unbelievable. This decision is as ridiculous as Chevron or ExxonMobil throwing up their hands and declaring, "There is no oil to be had in Texas!"While I highly recommend this business, I am 100% diametrically opposed to the business owner's unwillingness to recognize the potential in the rebuilding/restoration of the iconic world-renowned City of San Francisco. Closing the doors to the JCB Wine Tasting Lounge inside this posh landmark Nob Hill hotel is not only iIN BAD TASTE but also the most anti-entrepreneurial post pandemic decision ever to made in light of the extensive transformation that is set for the Powell Street/Union Square area, which will increase revenue to the millions/billions for the City of San Francisco and the neighboring business owners. Please RETHINK positive and KEEP the doors OPEN.

Beautiful wine tasting lounge inside Ritz Carlton which is one of the most elegant hotels in San Francisco. The hosts are attentive and the wine is exquisite.

Ladies Galatine weekend getaway with 11 of our childhood friends for the 6 wine servings tasters . JCB , John Charles Boisette is located inside The Ritz Carlton Hotel lobby , it's a small tasting room , elegant and intimate, with baccarat wine glasses , candle lights fixtures and beautiful ornate chandelier . Pretty much anything inside JCB can be purchased , I think . Diva our Sommelier were engaging and educational , while pouring our wine she proceeded to inform us of the history of JCB, their wineries and flavors of each wine. We asked if Diva can order some appetizers , fruits and cheese charcuterie boards for us from the Lounge restaurant across the Lobby . She was kind to walk over , came back with the charcuterie boards while we enjoyed our wine and company . We had a great time and enjoyed the wine selections Diva choose for us , for those ladies that likes more of a sweeter wine , Diva accommodated them individually. Unfortunately we were not able to charge our bill to our rooms. Diva mentioned they are working on it in the near future.

Nested in the Ritz Carlton in SF, the JCB tasting room is flamboyant, over the top and JCB style galore! Reservation is a must as the tasting room was quite cozy. Love the sparkling wine flight and the mixed wine flight, great way for couples or friends to taste through a variety of wine. Our host was friendly and knowledgeable - recommend for out of town guests and locals to come taste some wine and buy bottles! The stemware here are over the top - the one and only Baccarat brand that definitely elevated the experience. Recommend to add on the cheese and meat plate (catered by Ritz) as it paired well with the wine.

Ok, this was a special treat for my wife and I. Celebrating our 5 year anniversary/ second honeymoon in San Francisco. As winemakers our selves we love stopping in and tasting different vintages from different vineyards. Jean Charles has done collaborations with Tim from Cooper's hawk winery in Illinois. As Cooper's hawk club members we have enjoyed the JCB/Cooper's hawk blends. So naturally we needed to pay JCB tasting room a visit. It was quite a treat. Our wine steward this evening was Amy. She has the knowledge and personality that makes you feel welcomed , comfortable, and part of a larger family. The 8 different wines we tasted all smooth distinctively different well balanced and full mouth flavor some with tannins lighter than others. None overly oaked. The decor of the wine tasting room itself is worth the trip just to see up close the intricate items on display. So if you are passing through please stop in and enjoy a fine Cabernet, Pinot Noir, what ever your taste buds choose you will enjoy.

We've been "Collector" members for years, made an appt for a tasting during our stay at the Ritz. We were off to a ok start, place was empty, one associate working. Sat for our appointment, started our tasting and cheese plate but the associate kept ditching us. First for her friend that's a bartender at Giants stadium. Then for another couple that "liked the snake on the bottle". We had to sit by and listen - with empty glasses and plates - while she talked to the walk in couple about snakes, French bulldogs, their anniversary etc..for well over 20 minutes. We were planning on buying wine to ship home. We were planning on maintaining our club membership. Neither of those things will now happen.I don't know what she was thinking. If you can't handle 2 couples in the tasting room without leaving one for 20 minutes, close the door. It's not hard to touch a table from time to time. There's too many solid wineries & clubs that do value their members.

Had the most terrible experience at JCB tasting lounge. As a member of Buena Vista, their sister winery I expected to be treated with at least average service but that was not the case. I was seated in the back corner and explicitly told our server Nina that I was a member at Buena Vista and that I was looking to taste and buy a bottle with my member discount. She came back over 20 minutes later and served us a menu that only showed prices for a membership at JCB. After I asked her which wines would be included with the sister membership she recommended a $75 Cabernet and said it would be an additional 20% off. It took another 30 minutes to get the bottle and then Nina just left the bottle at the table and made us pour ourselves. This was pre-covid so I expected to at least be served given the prices of this place. The worst part is once I was given the bill I was charged $150. I assumed it was a mistake and asked Nina to honor the sister membership prices we discussed and she told us that the $75 was only if you had their membership. I immediately asked to speak with her manager since Nina originally lied about the pricing. Her manager Kelly came out and was extremely rude and charged an ADDITIONAL $20 corking fee on top of the $150. A corking fee for their own wine and to not even have the server pour a single glass.I was embarrassed that I brought my friends here and I will never go back or recommend this place. Such a shame since I am a member at one of their sister wineries.

Travel back in time in the JCB lounge within the Ritz-Carlton. Here you will be greeted by the kindest wine connoisseur who will walk you through the JCB collection history. I had the pleasure of being guided by Juan who gave me the story behind the Pinot/cabernet tasting. He not only gave the story behind each bottle but explained the differences between a merlot, Pinot, and Cabernet. I left happy as a clam with a few bottles in hand, a wine course, and a delightful experience to forever remember. I cannot wait to return here and try other JCB tasting lounges. Great service makes a forever client.
