This is an excellent spot to enjoy authentic Gujarati food. The flavors are truly amazing, and the dishes have a comforting, home-style touch that makes the experience even better. Restaurant was recommended to us by our friends who are native to Gurajat. The staff are friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall charm of the restaurant. Highly recommended for anyone craving delicious and authentic Gujarati cuisine!

authentic Gujrati as well as other Indian vegetarian meal, snacks, Chai, Lassi and sweets. We have been going there for 35 years and have catered from them many times, even for 2500 guests!. Clean, reliable, with good quality and service.

expensive vegan food, small portion, serve on the paper plates, the taste is mediocre. the only good thing is the mango lassi.

Had heard great reviews about this place so finally drove from South Bay to Newark to try out so called most authentic Gujarati thali .I thought the place overcharges for thali that is served in disposable plates. Undhio was good but everything else was very spicy for Gujarati food . They also offer kathiyawadi thali , thought they offered some spicy curries from that menu in Gujarati thali .It would be more pleasing to offer thali in a good dinnerware instead of disposable plates if they want to justify $17-18/ thali price .

Lovely and welcoming ambience and friendly service. They have ample parking right outside the restaurant. The only caution is - check the open hours coz i feel it was very specific time slots that they are open for.they are famous for their samosa and jalebi. This visit we tried:- bombay chutney sandwich - 5/5 - freshly prepared and delish!! I would drive back just for that. So good with fresh ingredients and perfectly toasted.- dabeli- 4/5 authentic taste and slightly tangy to tease your taste buds- vada pao - 4.5/5 - spicy with just some kick but not crazy spicy for u to not like it. It came with chutneys that were too deep colored but tasted yummy- spinach samosa - was my fav! The fusion twist was well done to give u flavor of indianized spanakopitaWill come back for more!!

By far one of my favorite Indian chat places. My favorite is the Dabeli, pantra and Bombay quesadilla. The service is always great and they do remember my name and order.

10 Stars for the Masala Dosa alone!*The potato filling is more delicious than I remember! The lentil soup (daal) is served on the side of the dosa and is the most flavorful I've EVER had. (God I hope they remain consistent!) The coconut sauce and tomato "chili" sauce is standard. The Pani Puri is alright. I'll skip this next time. Nothing to write home about! Maybe I'll order the yogurt one next time? I know that one's a bit more flavorful but not by much!The Papdi Chaat is usually good but felt like it was missing something this time. I might actually try ordering a different type of chaat!? If possible. Idyll was really good but that's likely because it's served with the same sided as the amazing Masala Dosa. The Punjabi and Gujrati Thali's are good my family alway seems to enjoy they! Good way to taste a bit of everything! I'll come to Jay Bahrat time and time again but really only for the dosa because they have this on lock! I hope they remain consistent! I've tried different flavors of the dosa and will likely try a few different flavors in the future! Even though they don't make my favorite desi (Indian / Pakistani) dessert (raas malay) all the other mitaaay are sweet, clean, fresh and delicious!Give 'em a try again the dosa in my opinion is the most flavorful here but the other dishes like the Pani puri or Papdi Chaat are better elsewhere!

Ordered samosa. They are tiny. Four for ~$8. They should said mini-samosa instead if they are honest. I can get the same thing for $5 for six of them at other Indian food place.Overpriced, small portion, average taste. Rip off.

1) Food was lukewarm.2) Quantity is less. 3) Chaas didn't have enough masala.We will not be coming back again, as the basic requirements for a good thali were not met.

They used to make one of the best vegetarian food. Now the taste is disgusting and it looks like they gave us old dhokla and dosa was over cooked Will hit go back again Used to be my favorite spot not any more
