This is a note for the Yelp fam, as of 11/3/19 this location is temporarily closed. I placed an order through GrubHub for pickup this morning, but because the reviews are old I was concerned that the order might not be filled. For good measure I added a note to the order requesting a confirmation call from the restaurant. I didn't want to make an unnecessary trip. Hours passed and I didn't receive a call or any communication from the restaurant or GrubHub. I called the restaurant and was informed of their temporary closure and then I called GrubHub to report the status. GrubHub had the details but hadn't bothered to notify me. I hope to try the restaurant soon. I'll post an update if possible.

Yummy Organic Menu designed by a Veteran Health Educator. Try nearly anything on Grits! Pesto, Black beans, Pastor, butter, cheese, salmon, chicken, and so much more!!! I have deep Southern roots so I'm crazy about grits.I tried the salmon...made fresh to order and I was thoroughly pleased with the service and food quality. There is a pool table and a piano for anyone up to playing and socializing. Also There's a TV for movies, music, games, or news.TACO TUESDAY'S are coming starting on Halloween per the owner, so I'm super excited as this place is walking distance to Mi Casa.Glad to have a new Local Spot

This little place is all that and more...from the food to the stimulating conversation!! Ms. Bea is a gem, who has brought healthy, delicious, awesomely paired food options to E. 14th and I thank her for it! I got the snapper + pesto grits and my mom got the shrimp n'grits... both were wonderful. There's so much more on the menu that I want to try, I'll definitely be back. ** You may want to call ahead to make sure they are open prior to your arrival :)

They made us wait an hour for the order then cancelled it without giving us a reason or a phone call why. We were really looking forward to their food but terrible service.

Heard this was the place to go for cheese grits and skrimps. We checked for a website but couldn't locate one and went by the hours posted from the photo from a fellow Yelper. Arrived Saturday morning at 11am but found the place closed, lights off and the curtain slightly drawn. The sign said "open" but clearly it wasn't. I've had far too many experiences of going to soul food joints and finding them closed in spite of their advertised hours. My people we gotta go better than this! Businesses can't thrive on a "open when we feel like it policy". I'll try again in the future and update the review. To be continued....

So I stopped by this spot based on my friend's suggestion. I went there and was slightly disappointed. It is a hole in the wall joint. When we went there we couldn't tell if they were opened, despite the listed hours. The owner didn't know where her chef was and we had to wait a good 10 minutes before they decided they could cook the breakfast. The owner is sweet as pie, but the food was lacking. I had ask for cheese grits, but was given grits with gravy. The grits were lukewarm. They offered my friend the apple pie, the pie was good but it was given to her ice cold. I am all about supporting local businesses, but come on people we got to do better.

This place was closed for business or it at least, appeared to be. We looked through the window and we could see nothing. However, if the outside appearance is any reflection of the inside: No Thanks.
