I would actually rate them zero stars but Yelp requires me to at least put in one star to write a review. This woman (Rachel Devlin) is unprofessional and unreliable. I do not recommend her to anyone. I contacted her 10 days before my daughter's 3rd birthday party inquiring about cupcakes. After several days of back and forth emails about pricing, I placed my order and confirmed the date and time of our party with her. She confirmed the delivery time would be between 10-11 am that day. (Our party was starting at 11 am)Party day comes, 10 am, 1030, 11 am, no cupcakes. I gave her a little time to be late, but by noon I had a HOUSE FULL of 3-year olds and still no cupcakes. I left her multiple voicemails on both phone numbers I had listed for her. I was not able to get in touch with her at all. I began trying to find another bakery in the neighborhood that was open but had no luck so eventually I was forced to run to the grocery store and buy 4 dozen (mediocre, not-vegan) cupcakes for my guests. I missed half of my daughter's 3rd birthday party being stressed out about f-cking cupcakes. By 3 pm all our guests had left. Around 430 PM I was laying down with my daughter for a nap and our doorbell rang. I was half-asleep so I didn't answer, but then my phone began ringing. I answered and someone said "Hi, were you expecting a cupcake delivery?". The woman said she was only the delivery person, and that Rachel had called her after getting my voicemails. Rachel had mistakenly thought our party was the following day. The delivery woman then says "So I'm going to assume that you don't want me to leave these?" I nearly lost my shit. Ok, so Rachel made a mistake. It happens. I was about to come on yelp and write her a negative review immediately, but I thought I would at least give her a chance to personally apologize, try to make it right, etc. It has been nearly 2 weeks now and I NEVER HEARD A WORD FROM HER. Unprofessional, unreliable, unapologetic. Stay away from this business.

I had the pleasure of consuming a delicious pumpkin chocolate chip cupcake at Wicked Grounds in SF back in November. I housed it in seconds flat and was instantly sad once it was gone.So of course, I contemplated having another. The cupcake was moist, pumpkin-y and absolutely divine. I'm glad that vegan baked goods exist and that Idle Hands knows how to do it right.

I eat bacon.A lot.I also eaten veal, chicken, all manner and variety of fish, horse, beef in a million forms, pig (oooooo delicious pig)... what I'm trying to say it that I'm the FARTHEST thing from a vegan you can get and you know what?I crave these cupcakes. No seriously... I bought one from her off the street from her little stand ages ago and didn't know they were vegan. I was hooked. Got her card and hired her to do cupcakes for a party... it was THEN that I found out she was a vegan cupcake making machine.I now make a point of when ever I'm in SF to stop by Wicked Grounds to pick up my favorite (Cookies and Cream) cupcake.Rachel is a peach. An organic one at that. She makes a quality product that tastes so good you don't have to say in hushed tones "Yeah, it's good for being VEGAN..." You can say "Damn this shit is TASTY... huh? What? It's VEGAN?! Woah..."

I'm with the VelociRaptor on this one, I love meat, all meat, and all meat products...(in fact my nick name is Bacon) I also love baked goods. As the manager of a bakery in Sacramento, I see and taste a lot of goodies, I also have a lot of vendors looking to bring product into the shop...This is the only vendor, and these are the only cupcakes I have had on display and for sale for special events including a couple of 2nd Sat events (they are a big deal here in Sac) The point being they ROCK, soft and moist, not to sugary or overly sweet, like a lot of cakes are, great cake to icing ratio, flavor, flavor, flavor, and more flavor...her Raspberry are made with Raspberries not red dye, the chocolate are to die for, and I have no idea what vegan cream cheese is made out of, but it makes some damn good icing...If you have a sweet tooth, or enjoy a great confection, check out Idle hands and her fantastic little cakes, carnivore or hippie, I promise you will love them

Rachael the owner, is super friendly and went out of her way to deliver some awesome vegan cupcakes to my wedding. I was running around all day and didn't even get a chance to taste these delectable treats (so I heard) but from the horse's mouth, they were good. She delivers all the way to Dublin, and it was most appreciated as it was a backyard wedding and we were all setting up or getting ready. She even let me use her cupcake tier the day of (bad planning on my part for not having one) which was a last minute life saver to say the least. Support our local independent cupcakeries and order some today. :)

I bought a cupcake from Rachel at SF Pride and I told her I'd YELP her cuz the cupcake was "tha bizness"! I wish I were vegan, I'd probably be a lot more healthy. Something to shoot for. At least I know that if I do take the plunge I'll be able to get great vegan snacks!

I was lucky enough to be a part the naming process of this lovely little bakery. Well, not really a part of the process. My opinion was asked however. I was also part of the testing audience. Now on to the real review. I am not a vegan, will never be a vegan. That being said, I am totally addicted to the cupcakes. They are super yummy. I have no clue what Rachael does to make them so good, but I promise you will not be disappointed. I have lived in Santa Cruz and I go to Cal so I am well versed in the realm of Vegan baked goods both good and bad, and let me tell you these are some of the best. Good for dinner parties, weddings, birthdays, what ever, hell even just plain pigging out. Plus Rachael is one of the most kick ass people you will ever meet in your entire life.

I work at the Hayes Valley Inn and we just had our Christmas party. We did a Secret Santa gift exchange so I made an order for a dozen cupcakes. Reasonably priced and delivered early, they were one of the most popular gifts there. Not only were they beautifully crafted, but the man who ended up with the dozen cupcakes had finished them in less than 24 hours. I asked him how they were and he said they were probably the best he'd eaten. Now, on a more personal review:I'm not vegan and I don't think I'll ever go that far but these cupcakes are moist and fluffy and packed with flavor. The icing is amazing and rich and the range of flavors is hugely imaginative. I sent my family (who are also non-vegans) some of Rachael's vegan organic cupcakes and she had instant fans. They were impressed and will be ordering more for Christmas.

This sounded like a wonderful bakery, but I'll never know. I needed a vegan birthday cake for Friday evening and made my first call on Wednesday morning, left a message with details of what I needed and for when and asked for callback to confirm whether this was something they could provide. Not hearing back on Wednesday, I called again and left a couple messages on Thursday with details and requesting callback. Still no response. On Friday morning, once more I called with a last request for callback whether they could provide a cake. Still no response. I finally took my business elsewhere. Based on my experiences, I wouldn't recommend this business.
