How amazing is that they opened a pot sticker restaurant next door! Today, we parked a few blocks down and walked through Swan Market as we slowly passed the dumplings, we had to do a double-take, and all of a sudden, I was craving dumplings. But we came to Chinatown to get my favorite Huangcheng Chongqing street noodles, so we had to go there first. We found out that since the restaurants are related, they could order dumplings for us, and we could remain sitting in the restaurant. Thank goodness we had an amazing waitress who also remembered us. Awesome service!!I loved the hot dipping sauce! next time, will try the pork potstickers.

Delicious! The dumplings here are small, with roughly 20 per order, and packed with flavor. This food stall, located in Swan Market in Old Oakland, was a fantastic addition to a previously empty space. Seating is first-come, first-served.Parking can be a bit tricky since it's mostly street parking, but there's a lot a few blocks away, as well as a paid garage at the convention center.While they offer other menu items, their specialty lies in dumplings. I also purchased a mason jar of their chili oil--it's a smoky, spicy burst of flavor!The staff here is super friendly! Support local! Let's help these small businesses thrive.

Another food adventure at a relatively new restaurant. I love pan fried potstickers and dumplings so a friend and I saw this restaurant on one of our trips to Chinatown. We happened to park by the old Housewives Market and walked through the restaurants. We saw Huangcheng Potstickers.We decided to try an order of steamed dumplings and an order of fried dumplings. Both dumplings were good but they don't have very much seasoning. I'm not a sauce guy so I thought the dumplings were good but not my taste. My friend thought the sauce gave it flavor but wasn't to his taste either. It could be that Shanxi style cooking is an acquired taste. The fried dumplings were good but didn't have any crisp to them so we probably should have ordered the fried potstickers.We both will try the restaurant again but will try the potstickers on our next trip. We both thought the dumplings were 3 stars and another star for customer staff. The staff were very polite and quick to take your order.I rated them a generous 4 stars and will update my review after my next trip. New restaurants are always worth a try. If you like Shanxi cooking, definitely give this place a try.

HuangCheng potstickers, located inside the Swans Market, offers Oaklanders another tasty option to their line up of fast-casual restaurants and eateries.Similar to their first restaurant - HuangCheng Noodle House, you can expect fresh hand-made offerings (dumplings, potstickers, and pickled cucumbers) that is made to order. Their dumplings and potstickers are bite-sized and you get 18 pieces for each order (about ~$1 per dumpling). I was curious about trying their Chicken Curry, but decided to try out their dumplings and potstickers, as the other 4 reviews have focused on. The menu was very simple and our order was ready in that 5-7 minute that was quoted. Although tasty, my dumplings did not have much of a satisfying 'bite' as there wasn't any crunch or texture. The potstickers offered a crispiness, as it was lightly fried, but the filling wasn't as warm as the dumplings.I do wish that they had combination (shrimp, pork, and chives), as that would elevate the umami and add a bit of extra texture to the dumplings.

Newly open just few months ago. The menu is very limited.The potstick is badly made. The shape doesn't look like a potsticker. Each potsticker isn't pan fried enough. Look and taste uncooked.I ordered a shrimp potsticker. The tatse is terrible.

These potstickers are amazing, as are the dumplings. And the atmosphere in Swann's is the best of Oakland: fun, vibrant, multicultural and delicious!

Delicious handmade potstickers! The portion size was generous, and the filling juicy and savory. Of course, we already know Huangcheng's famous chili sate, which pairs perfectly with the potstickers. We got both the boiled and pan fried versions, and enjoyed both. Also a surprising hit was the cucumber salad!

The noodle masters from Huangcheng Noodle House just opened this dumpling stand inside Swan Market. If you've eaten at their noodle house, you know that they do not disappoint. The dumplings and potstickers are absolutely delicious! Completely handmade, including the dough like their noodles, the dumplings are distinctive (perhaps Shanxi style?) and super flavorful. I love that their dumplings are not oversized, and the skin is just the right thickness. We tried both dumplings and potstickers, the shrimp ones and pork ones, and were super impressed. Another highlight is their homemade hot sauce, vinegary and not greasy, perfect for the dumplings. The cucumber salad is also good.Really love their dumplings and very happy to see this place in Swan Market. The people are super nice, the space is really great, and food is superb. Will definitely be back for more!

Really delicious dumplings with great texture. The spicy sauce isn't too spicy; just flavorful. Had the hot chili oil cucumbers and the spicy sauce for the dumplings and would 100% order again. Service was very kind and attentive. Want this place to succeed :)
