I needed instant tamarind power for sinigang and I usually have to go downtown. It was a rainy day and I didn't want to delay dinner. I called and they had a selection! Im happy I had somewhere so close to get Asian goods. I also got some fresh produce for pretty good price as well so it was win-win situation.

It's been raining cats and dogs and I needed a few asian groceries. Didn't want to drive down to Chinatown and ordering from Ranch 99 market was for delivery be too long.This is a small store but it had what I was looking for. Looking to make some Asian type soup. I had miso paste so was looking for Asian groceries and noodles. I found what looking for (Daikin, bok choy) also picked up some noodles, and gochujang paste. Good place for quick shopping. Staff helpful as was looking for korean rice cakes, they double checked in the freezer for me.Will return if I'm in need.

LOVE this place! What a lovely neighborhood gem. I adopted two guinea pigs during shelter-in-place lol they are so cute. They eat A LOT - they eat fresh veggies like lettuce everyday so that's the main reason I found House of Produce (HOP). I needed a good go-to place for fresh produce near home. Due to shelter-in-place... I've also been frequenting the Ace Hardware next door to HOP, but that's another story! This spot is small but packs a punch! They have most grocery items you might need: eggs, milk, dairy + alternatives. Obviously, they have produce - they have your standard stuff and also some bok choy and few other Asian produce items. They also have some household items you might need in a pinch, things like dishwasher soap or other cleaning supplies. My biggest shoutout goes to their supply of some Asian grocery items! They have a decent variety of different instant noodles (when you just need that cheap comfort food), and they have all sorts of spices and sauces. I am 1/2 Filipino and cook sinigang sometimes - they have the Tamarind Soup Mix by Knorr which is used as the base of the sinigang soup by many including myself haha. If you haven't tried sinigang, trust me, you need it in your life! Soooo good. Also, the ladies who work here always say hi and how are you, they are friendly and you feel good about supporting them :)Prices are also very reasonable and competitive. Pro tip, avoid paying for street parking and go one street above (north of) MacArthur around the corner from HOP. Park somewhere in front of someone's home in the neighborhood and just walk!

Love this place! The people are friendly, their produce is fresh and they have a lot of variety, and their hot peanuts and sorrel are to die for!!

Man, I love House of Produce! Being of the Asian persuasion in East Oakland, it can be a challenge to find ingredients for my indigenous cuisine. Sauces, flavors, veggies, and fresh noodles can all be found here! Seriously, great for you budding chefs that need a basic asian ingredient or sauce and don't want to go all the way to Chinatown.

Fresh coconut water straight from the coconut! Delicious and only $4. Thought that was a great deal. Highly recommend supporting your local businesses.

I just moved to Laurel area and this wonderful place is just a few blocks from my home. I was happy to see organic products that were not overly expensive. Very nice staff & ample parking.I will definitely continue to shop here exclusively!

House of Produce is a great one-stop shop for almost everything. I'm there in the morning, I'm there in the evening. The owners always say hello and I appreciate that.

Agree with all the raves - if you can't find it here, you don't need it! Lots of cool Asian ready-to-microwave, plus the good kind of (German) pumpernickel bread; fresh avocados; dairy...seriously worth a stop. Easy street parking too (at least on 1/2/23, granted that was a national holiday).

Best little grocery store. Hot peanuts are amazing and one of the only places close to me that has them.
