To be fair, this market is very small but has a good amount of Korean movies to rent from. Not sure on the quality of movies but if you come here for dry Korean items, you can possibly find it here. It's only two aisles, three freezers and a few fresh items (cabbage, potatoes, and onions). I was looking for something in particular that I thought this market would have, Perilla leaves and perilla powder. They did not have either but I did pick up some gochujang and shrimp paste for kimchi. The cashier didn't say much but was friendly enough. Would I come back? Probably not with how limited they are.

Nice small shop located in El Cerrito. Street parking is available in front.I stopped by at 2:41pm and I was the only customer on a Saturday. The staff member inside was friendly and greeted me.It's about two rows of items, so do not expect anything to the scale of 99 ranch market. However, if you're looking for things like Kim chee, meat, noodles, snacks, sauces, etc. you are in good hands. I picked up some honey butter chips ($2.99), small Kim chee ($4.99) and fish ($5.99). Pros:-friendly staff-carries most staples that you might want Cons:-n/a

Hosanna Oriental Food sells Korean Food, little else. has been here since '-7, not a lot for sale: no alcohol, produce, prepared foods, kimchi, kimbop, refrigerated goods (cooler out), frozen foods.available: a few frozen fish/appetizers, ramen, condiments, sauces, powders, mixes. rice....eats: matcha flavored ice cream sandwich(1.59)-mostly water, palm/vegetable/coconut oil. sugar, flour.-didn't taste like real ice cream, from people who make Ajinomoto.take outs:-4 stars for the nice korean people who ran this storeramen had too many calories to suite my diet, 400-500 calories.

I came in here looking for Kimchi because all the brands at 99 Ranch have MSG. I found out that they make fresh kimchi! And they have big jars, as well as little ones. The woman told me kimchi lasts about 4 months. One of my friends from Korea told me that Koreans are healthy because they always eat kimchi. She said that's why they didn't catch SARS when the wind was blowing from China, where people were catching it a few years ago, into Korea. Maybe it's true. If not, it still has amazing health benefits nonetheless.

I've gone to Hosanna for snacks mostly over the years and it's always been my favorite for Korean snacks and Melona Ice Cream. The owners are super nice and sweet! My favorite are the sweet potato snacks. They used to have a ton of variety to choose from with snacks but now the options are more limited. They also sell meats and other produce items as well.

This shop is small but has almost all fundamental Korean groceries.I used to buy Korean snacks, Kimchi, and meat from here.Price is little bit expensive compared to other Korean big market, but each product has high quality so worth it.The owner is very kind and nice. Their Kimchi has made by themselves and very authentic and fresh. I strongly recommend this shop for someone who is looking for authentic Kimchi and Korean snacks.

Walk slow because you might miss the entrance... 'Whopping' 1800 sq. ft. store with 2 isles of Korean stuff. This sets a smallest Korean market in my book but there must be reason why they are still around. Perhaps it is the kimchi or pork, but didn't expect a huge selection of anything. Yah, go ahead get some of that tasty Korean ramen...

They are generally more expensive than other Korean markets, e.g. Koreana Plaza in Oakland. I don't know why they charge higher on each and every item. I frequently dropped by this place to buy basic Korean stuff, but after having an unpleasant experience regarding their own Kimchi, I decided not to go there again. The owner sold their Kimchi at the same price as other factory made big-bottled Kimchi arguing that they are the same size. I couldn't compare the sizes because there were no other Kimchi brands. I bought it believing what she said was true, but after I got home, I found that their Kimchi container is less than 2/3 of the regular big Kimchi container. I couldn't believe that she cheated me on such a little thing as this. I don't believe I will go there again.

Not bad considering...Its small but carries a lot of items. Lots of dry packaged goods. A few veggies but not much in terms of fresh. I rate it 5 stars because its convenient and has what I look for. They also have a large assortment of Korean Videos.Good Management and very friendly attitudes.
