Hop Hing's Kitchen

I enjoy Hop Hings for what it is: a nostalgic quick serve / ready-made Chinese food that I enjoy a few times a year. A combo with chow mein or fried rice + 1 entree is $11 at the time of this review. There is an option that's a little cheaper that comes with white rice, or one that's a few dollars more that comes with two entrees. I like the chow mein, the teriyaki chicken, and the string bean chicken. If you go the teriyaki route it also comes with teriyaki sauce. I always ask for soy sauce and hot chili oil out of habit, but I rarely end up needing the soy sauce - I say that as a good thing. My review is based on those items I mentioned, I haven't tried anything else other than the occasional spring roll.I get my food to-go, no complaints on customer service from me. They'll let you try something before you order it so don't be afraid to ask. The closer to opening / mid-day the better to avoid getting food that's been sitting out for a while. If they're out of something and it's close to closing time, they probably aren't making more of it. Sometimes they close earlier than their advertised hours. The following doesn't factor into my rating, but it is something to keep in mind: the Chinese food in Vallejo is all pretty equally yoked. Comparatively speaking, the food taste/quality you get here is probably equal to (and in some cases better than) other options in town at a better price point.

Food taste great. Fresh and well seasoned. Nice serving size. Good service. A little sketchy outside but very Clean inside.

This Chinese spot has been a mandatory staple ever since I was a little girl. I'm born, and raised in Vallejo CA so I've been coming to this establishment for years, well not anymore! I finally get a chance to come in since I got off work early, and I come with the mentality to get a simple combo rice plate with black pepper chicken. As soon as I walk in I was greeted promptly, but when I noticed the black pepper chicken was all out I simply asked the woman if they'd be making anymore, and she said no! Seriously? Little does she know I have a food service background, as well as providing exceptional customer service. The woman who greeted me was rude, and not having what's advertised is showing a false image, and deceitful. It's not hard to have the chef in the back make another batch of the black pepper chicken. If you don't want to do your job, then simply go elsewhere! But saying there's no more black pepper chicken instead of making more is a poor excuse, and the lack of work ethic will not be tolerated by many. Good luck!

Best Chinese food I've had in Vallejo! Always tastes fresh and they always fill up your plate!

Ordered the Mongolian beef ... hottest food I ever tasted!! Hardly any Vegetables in the meals ..Food show be spicy but this shit is on fire ...Pass on this place

I have not been here for several years. Looking at Yelp decided to go yesterday and ordered combo Chow Fun. The appearance was not pleasing. The taste was not that good. I ate about 1/4th and discarded the rest. I won't be back.

The food was good but a little on the colder side. The person serving the food was not friendly or welcoming & in fact she had me get something I didn't even want because there were barely any selections left. If you go here go midday not before they close.

Horrible service! It was 5:20 pm and they told me that I could not place an order because they were closing at 6pm. I could only choose from what was left over which was not even much. The closing hours indicated online are 8:30pm. Who closes a restaurant at 6pm on a Friday? The person at counter did not even seem to care! Place has gone downhill since new ownership. Very sad! They don't even deserve 1 star
