Their world famous blueberry coffeecake is truly phenomenal. The cake is constructed with blueberries on the bottom with some kind of butter-like spread on topWhat I do have to say is that the cake itself is a bit on the dry side. Perhaps because you need to have coffee with it since it's a coffeecake

Can't believe I haven't tried this place before being a San Jose native. I plan on making up for lost time. The food was stellar. Has all the traditional breakfast diner hits. Decided to get the Stanford Cardinal Omelette and would get again. Pretty good sized portion. They offer a range of side options and variations on Hashbrowns which were my favorite part. Their famous Coffee Cake is a must. The two of us split one and it was almost too much food. Negatives revolve around the service. Took quite a while to get my order in. Nobody took our drink order to begin. We had to ask multiple times for creamer and missed refills. We did not have to wait for a seat and came on a Sunday morning!

Came here because it's a new brunch spot and I wanted to check it out. We got the salmon eggs bennie and the sweet potato breakfast plate. Service was a bit slow in terms of refilling water and getting the check but they just opened so maybe it was just one of those days. The coffee cake was superrrr soft. I can see why people mention the coffee cake. It was not too sweet not too dense. Very yummy. 10/10 The rest of the breakfast was not that amazing. The eggs Benedict was lack luster compared to other places I've tried. The sauce was too much, and the capers definitely made the balance all over the place. I've had cooked fish in my eggs Benedict before but this one didn't feel like it was part of the meal. Would pass on this next time. I tried my friends breakfast plate, and it was okay but it wasn't amazing. Not very memorable. I would pass on this place.

We showed up on a Saturday with our pups and asked the waitress at the front if they had outdoor seating. She said yes and told us to go outside and grab a table. We did and 15-20 minutes went by and no one came out to serve us so we had to go back in and ask. It seemed like whoever told us must have forgotten. We ordered the half and half benedict and chilaquiles. The chilaquiles was good but the Benedict was lack luster (both flavors). Overall I would say this place is just okay - definitely could work on the service.

It's been awhile since I've been to Hobee's. Eons actually. So, I was happy to see them recently open up a location in downtown San Jose in the former Ludwig's German Table site. I love this location with the Victorian house and spacious tiled patio. We were greeted and seated very quickly and our waitress Zoe was very friendly! We ordered a Classic Eggs Benedict, Turkey Avocado Tomato Sandwich and Danny's Chicken Pasta. The Eggs Benedict was very average and did not have much flavor. Everything was cooked well - poached eggs, hollandaise sauce but the bun was hard and overcooked and it just did not have any flavor. The potatoes were good! I'm bummed one of us didn't order the chocolate chip banana coffee cake! Danny's Chicken Pasta was an unusual dish. It's definitely not an Italian dish. It reminded me of when your at home and you start throwing different ingredients together to make some kind of comfort food and throw it in a bowl to eat in front of the TV. Was the food great? Not really. It was just okay. However, I still like the atmosphere, good vibe and the service was good. If I had never been to a Hobee's before I would have given it 3.5 stars. I do look forward to going back when the weather is good to sit in the patio and hopefully the food will be better.

I've been to Hobee's before, but this was my first time at this new location. Service was great and the staff was attentive and kind. It's well lit inside and has a great overall vibe. I ordered the "Gigi's favorite" eggs benedict and was a little underwhelmed. Sadly the yolks were fully cooked for me and everyone else at my table who ordered the eggs benedict. I would have loved a runny yolk. The bread was also really thick. I also tried their famous blueberry coffee cake. It came out warm, with a dollop of butter on top. It was good and the butter added a nice touch.

I love Hobee's and the food was good on my first visit to this new location, however the staff was less than adequate. We received our food promptly but they failed to bring our toast and coffee cake that literally is supposed to come with the food. When we finally flagged down our server, she just made excuses about them being overloaded in the kitchen (doesn't take long to make toast) rather than apologizing. Finally brought the remaining items but never brought the hot drink we had ordered so again had to ask for it. Again, the server said the bar was backed-up. Mind you, this is not a large location so how backed up can you be with 20 guests? The manager completing avoided us and we had to continually ask for more coffee and water. Our server never checked on us during our visit.

I thought the overall good was just okay. We had to wait quite a while just to be served. The blueberry coffee cake is their most popular item. It's got a decent crunch but the flavor is just okay. Not too flavorful. The eggs Benedict were fine. The salmon one was solid and not too fishy. The flavor was just okay. The lemon ricotta pancakes were mediocre. Unfortunately a little bland. For the price, I was a little disappointed with the food. There are better brunch places around. It looks nice inside

So happy to see Hobee's opening a new location after a few closed! The food was just as delicious as the food I've had at other locations for the past 25 years- the food that earned its reputation as a Bay Area/peninsula staple/establishment.Got the chance to talk with the manager, Erick, who was also serving us (excellently) and he clearly knows the minutiae of HIGH QUALITY hospitality. Excited to see him implement the plans he shared with us that he has for this spot.Definitely coming back, and planning for regular visits!
