A few days ago I used the ATM I have minimal short acrylic nails , and had difficulty getting debit card out of the ATM to withdraw. I asked the store owner for help , and told him I had nails and couldn't Easily retrieve my card , He snapped and said " Then Cut Your Nails " !!! I have been a returning payed customer at his store over eight years. Never caused any problems or stole from him .

Hien's Market twas sammies i sought.just persuing. it seems no longer true.rather than leave without and the owner blue,i got a fosters(2.75) as an afterthought.

Oakland corner store that stocks the usual goods--snack food, toiletries, beer--as well as some odd tchotchkes, like porcelain cacti (can't live without it!) Reasonably priced, nice owners, not nearly as sketchy as the store down the block on 14th & Harrison. Has respectable selection of fancier beers as well as your usual drunkard's fare like King Cobra and Four Loko. 6-pack of Sierra Nevada goes for $8.49 plus tax. One drawback is that it's not open very late, usually closing by 8. The block is still kind of sketchy at night, so I can't really blame Mr. Hien for not wanting to be there at that hour.

It's a nice market, a little expensive but still nice if you need groceries, but can't get all the way to a Safeway or Lucky. It's family owned and they always welcome you in with a smile. Their food selection is pretty eclectic. All in all thumbs up for this store.

If I could give a 0 review I would. My 75 year old African American mother went in this store today (which she has frequented over 25 years) and needed help with her ATM card. She called me, her daughter, asking what the problem was and I realized she was entering the wrong pin. I told her to try it again and when she asked the young guy, I heard him tell her to STOP TALKING TO HIM. At that point I immediately went to the store where my mama was sitting outside the store on her walker. When I addressed this issue, the guy lied and said he did not say it, bit changed his tune when I told him I heard him. I told him he should have more patience with the elderly since the store is located by 2 senior buildings or is this how he treats elderly customers who may need some help who are not Chinese. He had absolutely no response when I said that. Very disappointed and I will call the BBB

This place has EVERYTHING you could need! By far the best corner store in Oakland. I keep being amazed at how much they stock making it unnecessary to go to Safeway, Wholefoods, Smart & Final. Check out there Craft Beer selection, massive ice cream selection, a large variety of juices and drinks to get as well as all your home shopping needs. Not only do they have something you are looking for, but you can choose from a SELECTION of it. The owners are also super nice and friendly. This place keeps surprising me!
