Heyer house has been around since before I could remember, and it seems to be the only business in that little lot that can stick around. As far as a liquor store goes though; it's one of the best in Castro Valley. They showcase a decent hard liquor selection (everything from cheap Knob Creek to a satisfying aged Glenlivet), and a suspiciously big assortment of wine (for a liquor store). The workers are all very friendly in a pseudo-Starbucks sense, and they seem to make a definite effort to remember and enjoy their regular customers, always down for a chat or a conversation. The only thing that is lacking is the mish-mash mixture that is their beer selection, but it's actually a decent collection that caters to different drinkers, based on the space the little store has. It's always nice to see high-end Laganitis and Dogfish Head, but they also have practically every flavor of Mike's Hard Lemonade and Smirnoff Twisted, which I feel takes space away from quality drinks. There's no PBR either, which I feel is a Castro Valley staple, but they make up for it with 12-ers of Busch. Overall, a nicer-than-average Castro Valley liquor store with friendly, considerate workers.

Be careful, they will overcharge you on tax and crv on drinks. I was asking for a break down on the charges and some thug comes out telling me I'm "disrespecting" and getting in my face. Anything to get that extra $.06 I guess. I won't be going back.

These people are either stupid or thieves. I gave cashier 10.00 for a bill of 9.02. He gave me 0.08 change. When I tried to tell him he owed me 0.98 change he fought me on it. It's basic math did he not go to school. It's not a lot of money but it's not the first time this has happened to me here. Never going back on principle. Every dollar counts these days
