My favorites chicken place! It is not crowded but you get the best services and chicken as well as the best value in Bay Area! You can order a whole chicken which comes with rice or salad for $30, to go or in dine in. I always come here whenever I craved for chicken, they only serves one protein here is which chicken either with rice, noodles or salad. I usually choose all three as my side dishes. I hope they keep this value for a long time since Bay Area is ridiculous too high for everything!

Hai Nam Restaurant is my go-to spot for chicken and rice plates. I usually order their roasted chicken rice plate with xôi (sticky rice), which is perfectly cooked and incredibly satisfying. Their noodle soups are also a must-try--warm, flavorful, and so comforting, especially on cooler days. The portions are generous, and the food always tastes fresh.

This is a simple and yet delicious Vietnamese food. Simple menu and one price for everything you order( noodle). Simple, tasty and quick.Here is my scoring card for this restaurant:1) Location: ( 5 Point ) - Great location for customer to see and find. Great parking for street parking and back side with parking lot parking.2) Decoration : (2 Point) - They still have the original decoration. Clean.3) Price: ( 4 point)- The price is competitive but still a little bit pricey compare to other same stars and type food they serve4) Quality and Taste : ( 3 point)- The quality is ok, food taste is good and portions are below average . ( must be inflation )5) Type of cuisine standard : ( 4 point) - The style of Vietnamese food they serve is pretty close to the way it was prepare in Vietman . Not bad! But some dishes did have slightly modify to cater the customer's needOverall it's not bad and I thinks it's great to give it a try and let me know what you think. My guy was having mad craving for com ga hai nam [hai nam chicken] and because he was willing to give himself a cheat day to indulge, who am I to stop him from his happiness??After looking over a few places on Yelp, we both decided to go with Hai Nam Restaurant- for obvious reasons. The establishment is located within Paloma Plaza, off of Silver Creek Road. Parking is plentiful but traffic coming and going is undoubtedly heavy. Our family of 3 arrived and was greeted by a gentleman. He let us to pick our own table, brought out menus, and immediately offered water or tea. The menu comprised of various chicken noodle soups, rice plates, chicken salad, whole roasted and boiled chicken also available. Due to my daughter suddenly not feeling well, we switched gears and opted to order take out. I placed an order for com ga hai nam and patiently waited. Food came out quickly and everything was packaged well. Food:Portions are generous. The rice was flavorful, fluffy, and the hai nam chicken was moist. The ginger fish sauce paired well with the tender meats and the pickled napa cabbage gave the meal a nice bright aspect. 5 stars. Hai Nam Restaurant definitely knows what they are doing when it comes to properly cooking chicken. Bonus points because you are more than welcome to request for certain cuts of chicken [dark or white]. The restaurant aims to please....

Solid Hainan chicken. Come here for the food, forget the service and ambiance. Both the Hainan and roasted chicken are on point. Comes with soup and dipping sauces. The kimchi for the roasted chicken is roasted as well!

Great hai nan chicken place!! Came here on a Sunday at 6pm and the place was completely empty. Can't understand why because the food is great. I got the mien ga and my friend got the chicken rice and both dishes were great! The broth was so rich and full of chicken flavor and the chicken was nice and chewy, and paired well with the sauces. My only thing is the rice itself could have been more flavorful but it was fine with the sauces. Surprisingly, their complementary hot tea was also so delicious! This review is just for the mein ga! My bf and I were talking about a craving we had for this since we haven't had it for a long time... we were searching for a place that had it and if they had trung non (young unfertilized eggs) which were on one of the yelp photos. hai nam is in the plaza with hue and the banh xeo place. my bf and I had a hard time finding it, and ended up using yelp photos to find it.We sat down for lunch and the server was quick to grab our orders, which was just two mein ga. It's a chicken soup with vermicelli/glass noodles. It came out promptly and it smelled so heavenly! I think I prefer this over pho LOL. The glass noodles easily picked up the soup as I slurped up the noodles. The chicken was tender and plentiful. They also added gizzard and chicken heart as well. YUM. The portions were so big, both my bf and I could not finish and had to take both of our leftovers home. Good for the next day!Unfortunately they did not have the trung non. They mentioned later that they sell out of that pretty fast in the morning. Just another reason to come back!

Whenever I'm craving something warm and cozy this is my go to. All the dishes taste like it's homemade. Quick and easy meal no fuss. Recommend:- mi ga dac biet (egg noodles with chicken. The broth on this is . The portion is big so I can usually share this with another person. - the chicken salad (similar chicken to the one in the noodles but more and has cabbage I believe)- chicken rice plate

My favorite chicken egg noodle soup place, ever! If you know me, chicken is NOT my preferred protein, however, Hai Nam has successfully got me craving their noodles after my first visit here. This is a cute mom-and-pop restaurant, with generous portions and great service. I usually get the dry roasted chicken egg noodles, which come with soup on the side. Being the Americanized Asian I am, I always request my chicken to be deboned. It comes with a small side of kimchi, and dipping sauce. I love how many chives they include in the soup and noodles. Lastly, I can never finish my portion and always request a side of broth for me to go home and finish later. Highly recommend in the area.

Fast service, affordable prices, incredibly delicious food. Growing up in Asia, this feels like I am right back home. My favorite spot in the Bay Area.
