I've been meaning to write a review for a few years! Greenleaf catered a team BBQ on the beach some years back, and the food was delicious! My team can be picky, but they were fighting over who could take the few leftovers home. I hope to book them for another team event this year, and I realized I never wrote this much-deserved review!

I am just speechless! I was worried because of the rain but their delivery team made the delivery and set up experience so easy! Your staff was excellent! It was beautifully set up! I never imagined how the risers would change the look and feel of the dishes on the tables. Just gorgeous and so much more appealing!I loved not worrying about serving utensils!The name plates describing each platter was icing on the cake!The food was spectacular! I was stunned by the number of people who complimented the vegan and vegetarian options. Both vegans and vegetarians were tickled pink about our thoughtfulness to spike out specific dishes for them and our carnivores couldn't get enough of it as well. Simply put, my guests told me they never had vegan food that actually tasted delicious! All in all, I love the hors d'oeuvres and mini dessert meals! People came hungry and left satiated so that's compliment enough! I also love how everything was compostable! Clean up was a piece of cake and the pick-up process allowed us to go out for a nice family brunch before our families headed home! Thank you so much!!! You will be hearing from me again and again! And did I mention, I had NO leftovers! My son's friends came over and finished up what little was left. Nancy M. was absolutely right on about the amount of food and dessert I needed. I loved having no leftovers!!!

My family hired Greenleaf to feed about 30 people at a party in our yard. I didn't know what to expect,but I was extremely pleased. The presentation was outstanding, the food was delicious and plentiful even for some vegetarians .Delivery was on time, recovery was too. I would hire them again.

With a busy travel schedule and a baby shower for a dear friend rapidly approaching I was getting a little nervous. The mom-to-be had been great about telling me exactly what she did and did not want to eat. Now how to make it all happen for 20+ guests?Enter Greenleaf Platters. I initially contacted Hugh Groman catering and was put in touch with Nina of Greenleaf Platters who was so nice to work with over the phone. After our call I went onto their website where I was able to place my order (and even get compostable forks, plates and cups delivered too) easily.I ordered the following:- An elegant selection of cheeses with black olive tapenade, homemade sourdough and cranberry raisin walnut toasts and roasted nutsIf I ordered this for a party again I'd give specific input on the types of cheeses. This particular platter had two types of blue cheese (which I hate). However, I seemed to be mostly alone in this aversion as there was no cheese left at the end of the event. Also, the homemade toasts were ridiculously tasty.- Tiny devil's food cupcakes with fudgy frostingVery moist, even into the next day (I may have had a couple for breakfast the following morning). Most of the cupcakes had shrunk away from their wrappers (this is no way compromised the taste but they didn't look as pretty).- Cranberry orange scones with lemon glazeTender, not too sugary and sized just right.- Fresh fruit selected from the market I had several people ask me where the super sweet strawberries came from. I gave them a Greenleaf Platters business card.- Classic deviled eggs Very much a hit with guests, I had at least three myself! I was especially pleased about these since they made the mom-to-be so happy.- Elegant seasonal vegetables with two homemade dipsBoth the vegetables and the dips (one of which was vegan) were high quality; with so much great produce in the Bay Area this one is definitely a must order. If you're looking for a start to finish catering solution that's fuss free, and you're having an event for at least 20 people, Greenleaf Platters is the way to go. Ordering is simple and their staff is very responsive. On the day of your event they show up with everything on pretty platters and set it all up for you. (And when I say everything, I do mean everything - they even gave me a compost bag, two take out boxes for leftovers and a roll of paper towels!) After the event you simply put the platters into the crates they leave with you (no need to wash them) and they come pick them up the next day. I had an absolutely hassle free experience and everyone loved the food. I will gladly use Greeleaf Platters again!Notes- They deliver within a 90 minute drive from Berkeley- There is a $500 minimum- Every item must be ordered for at least 20 guests

Hugh and his team are the absolute best!! Not only was our delivery staff punctual and wonderful but the food was some of the best drop off food I've ever had! They accommodated my last minute ask and were communicative, helpful and delivered great desserts for a memorial in our law office in the Embarcaderos/SF. I am a former caterer and was impressed with Greenleaf. Additionally if you're trying to save some money delivered platters is the way to go. They set them up, providing beautiful arrangement and pick up empties the next day. Well done!

Each year we try something new for our parties. We've done the hawaiian platter take-out, mexican take-out, home bbq and family "chef". So, our next step was to have it catered. Unfortunately, all the companies that we called were busy doing weddings. Then, one of them suggested Greenleaf, for the price and service. So here we are... Minimum order is 20 servings per dish.We have never done this before and were worried with the portion sizes and the fact that we did not have to "heat" anything up. Regarding the portion sizes it was just right with a little extra. And we are GOOD eaters too! It was great, they provided the food on the ceramic platters, with serving tools and menu cards describing each dish. They deliver, set-up and pick-up the stuff the next day, you don't even have to wash the stuff. YEAH!!!! Less work for me.NOT:* Frittata w/ potato, artichoke hearts, crimini mushrooms, caramelized onions, aged cheddar and fresh chives- It was cold, soft/soggy, felt like it was made the day before, out in the fridge and brought to us the next day. Greenleaf Platters catered our wedding in Oakland. We did a cocktail style reception of about 50 guests with 4 appetizer options, 3 options for a dessert bar, plus filtered water service, compostable plates/cups, and rentals for drink tubs (and recycling/compost bins. Everyone loved the food and the set up of the appetizer buffet and dessert bar looked great! They food and service was excellent, especially for the great price point! Working with their staff to finalize our menu and logistics for food delivery and platter pick up was easy, they are communicative and helpful. We appreciate them offering us same day platter pick up! I would recommend this company to anyone looking for catering for any party or event.
