GigaBites

I know GigaBites is chiefly a corporate lunch caterer, and I've reviewed their website with its impressive range of delicious looking, thoughtfully sourced and affordable American regional and global culinary options.However my personal experience with them was at a summer wedding I attended at a Marin venue with an awesome ocean view. I was mightily impressed. The service staff did a truly excellent job getting the food out and keeping the wine flowing and the ambiance friendly and upbeat. But the menu - the menu was sensational. First some luscious appetizers: crab-mango-avocado tostaditas, then South American corn blinis and, finally a couple kinds of Empanadas with great dipping sauces. The entree course was masterful - hands down the most flavorful seafood-duck n' chicken paella I've ever tasted, a very distinctive vegetarian tamale pie, a kind of Mexican lasagna with layers of corn tortillas, cheeses, rich spicy tomato sauce and mushrooms, spinach and corn. Last, but definitely not least - grass-fed leg of lamb, mesquite grilled on site, cooked perfectly rare and tender, with a hellaciously good chimichurri sauce - OMG!!!The groom told me how happy he was with the pricing considering the impressive level of cuisine and GigaBites' quality, sustainable sourcing. I chatted with the chef-owner Gabe after the meal was served. He seemed satisfied with the outcome of his effort (he was drinking a big glass of red wine). He told me he really enjoys catering weddings and helping to make them memorable.

Gabriel and his team recently catered a 40-person baby shower for my daughter and son-in-law--everything turned out absolutely perfect! The food was fresh, delicious and looked beautiful--and working with Gabe was a pleasure. I would recommend GigaBites to anyone looking for a reliable caterer for business or personal events taking place in the Bay Area.The catering was THE most important element of the party, and right out of the gate I trusted Gabe and knew he would do an amazing job. He and I worked together to create a menu that was healthy, delicious, and took into account the ages of our guests (both men and women ranging from 20 to 60 years old)--all while being aesthetically pleasing. From food selection to directing my attention to small details (that I likely would have overlooked), Gabe was personally involved every step of the way. He stayed in close contact in the weeks leading up to the event, and as the guest list changed, he would make recommendations and tweaks to the plan to ensure we were still on track. On the day of the event, Gabe and his team arrived early and handled the entire set up--they even lent a hand in putting up decorations as well as making a last minute run to the grocery store for us. Gabe--thank you for helping me make this special day so incredibly perfect and memorable. I couldn't have done it without you!

My company put on a Disney-themed musical production in our office and asked if I could help sort a catered dinner. I reached out to about half a dozen caterers and Gabe was the only one to come back with a Disney-inspired meal plan. I absolutely could not say no to his excitement and creativity towards catering our event. He and his team were communicative the day of and the food was SO GOOD. Everyone loved the "Under the Sea" soup and Alice in Wonderland "Eat Me" cookies. When he found out people would be eating in waves (audience members and then performers), he stayed late to make sure the food stayed hot and fresh. He was also great about coming back the next business day to pick up his supplies at an earlier time I requested. Gabe is a creative chef and devoted caterer.

I love GigaBites catering!! I work as a concierge for corporate companies and I consistently use GigaBites for my client's catering. The company is professional and wonderful to work with. They are almost always able to accommodate any request and my clients are always happy!! I highly recommend GigaBites for your catering needs!

We've had GigaBites as our office caterer for probably half a year at this point, and the food and service have been great. They're very easy to work with as far as menu planning and scheduling, and are responsive to feedback. The delivery staff are friendly and conscientious, and have taken the time to learn a little about how our office works, making my job easier. The food is always on time and delicious, and they do a good job of menu planning for variety without alienating the "picky eaters" and folks with dietary restrictions of various kinds. I really can't say enough good things about these folks and highly recommend them if you're looking for healthy delicious food delivered with a smile :)

We used GigaBites to cater our office breakfast. It was easy to order, there was a good selection of tasty breakfast options and it was reasonably priced. The food arrived on time and the delivery person was very helpful suggesting a reasonably priced electric warming tray for future orders! The only comment was too much anise in the sausage balls :-) Will keep GigaBites on our list for future events!

GigaBites hands down is my favorite place to order catering from! The company I work for gets catering from these guys at least once a month (if not more) for work lunches and events. I'm a huge foodie and the part that makes GigaBites so great is their range of options!! One of my favorites is the chili! Oh my, I did not think chili could be this good! If you're looking for a catering options, this place is it!

We ordered the Creole menu for our Christmas dinner. It was excellent and we would recommend this highly to anyone else as a specialty caterer or for regular service to a large group. We ordered for 100 and the food was perfectly prepared and set up on site.

This review is way over due for GigaBites and especially for Gabe who was wonderful to work with and made everything flawlessly come together for our business luncheon meeting of 30 people here at UCSF. His attention to detail, follow through, and over all customer service skills were fantastic! We ordered the roast beef and artichoke stuffed chicken as the main courses. There were two vegans and one vegetarian in the group and Gigabites had multiple main courses to offer them as well, they all went with the Vegan Cannelloni. The side dishes were: Dirty Rice (Quinoa, wild rice, black beans, lentils, and seeds), Farmers Market Vegetables (seasonal), Baby Kale Salad, and a dessert of chocolate chip and macaroon cookies. We had asked for coffee and even though Gigabites does not have it on hand Gabe went to Peets and bought two containers for our meeting. Everyone at the meeting was very happy to say the least and quite a few asked who the caterer was. Thank you to Gabe and his team at Gigabites!
