Great service. Our server Fernando was super knowledgeable and friendly. Accommodating to folks with allergies. Yummy food. Fried Brussels sprouts and vegan soft serve were delish!

solid food program that leaves you feeling nourished and fulfilled. the service was incredible. really felt like a family working together that warmly invites you in to join them within the warm atmosphere.

Our meal at Gather was one of my favorites so far in Berkeley. We were looking for something a little more upscale than most of the places near the downtown station and this spot feels like it would fit in with the nice places we enjoy in SF, without being super high end and unaffordable. The food was great - controversial take but this might actually be my favorite pizza in this neighborhood! We were a bit let down by the squash appetizer but I'm not sure what wasn't landing for us in hindsight - it was beautiful on the plate. The roast chicken came recommended and was outstanding! Also a nice wine list and maybe most importantly - really friendly, attentive, courteous staff who made our visit feel extra nice. The patio has a beautiful, cozy atmosphere and I think we'll be back for another meal before the holidays. This is a wonderful place to get together with friends.

When I moved to the Bay Area from the east coast, I thought all the food here would be amazing. After all, this is the backyard of Chez Panisse and Alice Waters and the farm to table movement. How could any mediocre food survive?Well, by location location location. I do recall eating at Gather nine years ago and it was good. My last few visits in the past six months have been very disappointing. It seems Gather is coasting on its prime location near UC Berkeley and downtown Berkeley and no longer on its food. Its ambiance and quality of service remains good, I'll give you that. But the food gets a C- from me. I ordered a Caesar salad with roasted chicken. The lettuce was fresh but it was overall bland. If there were any anchovies I couldn't taste them -- or much of anything. No kick from blue cheese. The chicken didn't taste roasted. Just cooked. Bland. I've had better Caesar salads in plastic boxes from Trader Joe's. I stole a friend's French fries and it tasted good in the Sysco sense of good. Perfectly fine fry but nothing to write home about. They're proud of their pizzas and the mushroom pizza I stole from another friend (they're patient with me) was good but not east coast food. West coast low expectations good. The mushrooms were yummy but the cheese and the sauce and the crust were .... West coast low expectations. Gather could do better. Hire a chef who cares about ingredients and cooking. Or send the current chef on a sabbatical so they get reinspired. Because right now Gather's food is a bit tired and it's a shame given its primo location.

Food ok but bathroom arrangement inconvenient and potentially dangerous. (2) bathrooms, one with urinal/stall and another with two stalls labeled all gender. If you bother to notice there is an interior lock that brings up a vacant/occupied sign. If locked, (2) people can't use either bathroom causing unnecessary wait vs if they labeled Male and female so 4 people could use bathroom.If you don't notice and are a woman and walk into the 2 stall bathroom a man can walk in and no one would notice and it can be locked.A labeled bathroom with keyed lock makes women more safe where another woman may walk in giving predators pause who look for ways to isolate women.While not pertinent, I am a moderate who votes both ways and my fiancé's transgender brother lives with us and our kids with me being happy a relative is here. Common sense, more people can use bathroom and preventing a potential dangerous situation. Food was ok to good

Gather hosted a large business event for us with a pre-fixe menu and did especially well at hosting us. Beautiful place with live plants streaming off the headers over the kitchen. Cocktails were great and food was on point. Favorite dish of the night was the Spicy Tomato Pizza as the flavors were amazing. Cookies did come out cold, but overall was surprised out how well they handled a large group and their other guest.

We arrived at 6:50pm on a Monday night for our 6:45pm reservation (they said our slot would be good for 15 minutes), and seated us promptly. Our server was excellent, attentative and friendly. We were in a good mood because we found free street parking just a couple of blocks away.I ordered a cup of the Cannellini Bean Soup as an appetizer, and the Roast Organic Chicken as my main. My wife possibly ordered the Harvest Bowl with grilled chicken on top.We both loved our food. My soup was thick and delicious. The chicken was still juicy, and the potatoes and root veggies that came with it were cooked perfectly. I only ate half of my chicken, so I was able to enjoy it the next day.We didn't stay for dessert, so I can't report on that. I'd definitely go back. Everything was wonderful.

I have not been there for a long time, today went for lunch.1) outdoor seating is very nice and has a pond and some plant2) husband ordered vege frittata, it has smacked potatoes, it is so good.3) I ordered Marin burger, very good alsoFood came very fast.

Had this place bookmarked for awhile and finally got to have an early dinner here. Menu is simple and good options for those with dietary restrictions. Calamari was different than what we all expected (it wasn't fried), but it was a pleasant surprise. The brussel sprouts were yummy and the caprese salad was refreshing, also another surprise that it was a bit deconstructed. I ordered the Sopresetta Salami Pizza homemade with a thin crust. It wasn't too cheesy or saucey, but perfect portioned ingredients. The burger had a thick patty. The drinks were not strong and they didn't have any of the main vodka brands like Grey Goose or Ketel 1. And the drinks were really sweet. The staff were friendly and attentive. Their outdoor seating is decorated nicely and enclosed. I enjoyed their framed cartoon strips in the bathroom as well, entertaining. Presentation and decor makes this place asthetically pleasing. The food? It was okay.

I love this place. The food is delicious, great ambience and friendly service. Last I came here I got the ribs and they were incredible! I got to meet the owner Eric as well, he is super friendly.
