It was a beautiful day for a clam dig! Steve was an exceptional , knowledgeable, helpful guide with amazing culinary skills. Be prepared for sous chef duties! Steve taught us how to shuck, and clean the clams. Teamwork, and Steve's improvised kitchen, allowed us to enjoy the fruits of our very laborious catch. I recommend Steve and his class to anyone looking to make lifelong memories. Thank you Steve for a wonderful time.! Can't wait to sign up for more classes!!!!

Steve was INCREDIBLE! He cares so much about creating an amazing experience for everyone. We foraged, got to take home our own plugged logs for mushroom cultivation, and had an incredible mushroom-based meal! Can't recommend the experience with Steve enough!

I've been reaching out to this company for a couple of days now to try to get the address to an event I purchased two tickets for (Wild edibles and medicinal plants). I still have time to get there (Palo Alto) and this is a last attempt to get someone from ForageSF to reach out to me as all other means have not resulted in a reply.Update: it's now 2:00pm and even if they reply, I don't have time to get to wherever this event is happening. I've left comments on Facebook, instagram, I even found the owner and messaged him, I even called Berkeley Herbal center because they posted about ForageSF two years ago, and other random, loosely linked individuals/accounts with absolutely no success. I am beyond disappointed. To further my disappointment, their refund company said that the window for receiving a refund has closed. This leaves me with no choice but to dispute the $175+ credit card transaction.Update #2: it's not 3:06, 6 minutes into the hike that I paid $175+ for. Still no replies, still no return call. Still no promised "follow up email with the """"secret location"""".Update #3: 5:08pm now... insult added to injury - got an email saying "thanks for coming..." I'm boiling.Update #4, 09/30/24 3 days after the event: I added a star - I got an email from Carla, a representative from ForagedSF apologizing for what happened. Evidently, the entire process is automated so it seems that no one really mans the methods of communication. She mentioned that they received my transaction dispute and that my refund should be processed soon. After such a frustrating experience, I'm glad that at least my refund won't hit any snags.

Erin led a group of us (about 20 people) for a Wild Plants and Medicinals class for 3 hours on a Saturday afternoon. She is extremely knowledgeable, open, and professional. I learned so much from her class and left feeling inspired and so much smarter! Thanks Erin for an amazing time. I'm looking forward to my next ForageSF adventure and will bring a friend or two next time!

Had a fantastic day crabby g with Steve! The group had 12 people, all ages and experiences crabbing. There were couples, families, solos. Steve brought all the equipments and taught us how to attach the bait, use the net, fishing regulations. He made sure to spend bit of time with everyone in the group. Once everyone started to get the hang of it, Steve set up for our cookout. Hot boiling water, toasted garlic bread, fresh vegetables were waiting for us to start cooking the crabs we caught. And dinner was delicious! This will be one of the best days of this summer for us. Can't wait to try other foraging trips with Steve. Highly recommend!

Took the Medicinal Herb-Tea Foraging Class on a whim and had about 5 people in the group; It was less people than I expected, but allowed for more in depth questions and a tailored experience. Lexi, our guide, taught us about local herbs from a holistic POV. We learned about the physical effects of the herbs as well as the spiritual connections they have with our originating natives. We didn't have to walk around the park much before identifying many edible plants and lichens which made it feel inclusive for our diversely aged group. She also told us what to look for in order to identify plants at different parts of the year as well as other spots to check out. Would definitely take another class one of their classes.
