I recently saw this restaurant featured on IG and decided to try it out since it seemed unique. I was really intrigued by the grain noodles and fish. Decided to get a bowl of the spicy & sour flavor noodle soup with snakehead fish. The meal came with 2 free sides, peanuts and some sort of lightly pickled vegetable. The spicy & sour noodle soup broth was honestly the perfect mix. It wasn't super spicy but still had a kick that mixed well with the sourness. It looked like there were 3 or so different colored noodles. Pretty thin noodles that were cooked well. Different from the typical beef noodle soup noodles, which are quite chewy. The snakehead fish was super tender and picked up the spicy & sour flavor well. There's some other additions like tofu, fried tofu, quail eggs, lettuce, etc. Overall, I really enjoyed this meal. It was something I never had and turned out to be delicious. I wanted to try the tomato broth as well, so I'll have to come back for that. Service was quick and staff was very kind and helpful.

Very good. Add this to place the growing list of great Chinese noodle houses in the tri-city area, which makes up for the lackluster ramen scene. The five noodles are from five different types of grains. The restaurant bills itself as a healthy option and lives up to the billing. The soup base is clean (not a bunch of unnecessary stuff) but still very flavorful. Good size portion and good deal overall.

I visited Five Grains Noodle House in Fremont and was thoroughly impressed by the experience. The beef noodle soup featured tender beef slices immersed in a rich, flavorful broth that was both comforting and satisfying. The fish noodle soup stood out with its delicate, mildly seasoned broth, complemented by fresh fish slices and perfectly cooked noodles. A delightful surprise was the fried chicken cartilage--crispy, well-seasoned, and an excellent appetizer to start the meal. The restaurant's ambiance is warm and inviting, and the staff are attentive and friendly, enhancing the overall dining experience. For those seeking authentic and delicious Chinese noodle dishes in the Fremont area, Five Grains Noodle House is a must-visit.

We were in the area and stopped by this noodle place for lunch. We came here a few months back and recalled the noodles were pretty tasty. They provided a small dish of peanuts and pickled radish. For the 2 of us we ordered a cold noodles which I think was considered appetizer, Takoyaki, and a bowl of fish noodles. The hot and sour dry noodles came with their signature 5-grain noodles, shredded cucumber, half an egg, cilantro and peanuts. The seasoning was sweet and sour with a kick. Honestly it tastes like a kind of instant Korean cold noodles I always eat in summer. The takoyaki of octopus balls are a type of Japanese snack I think, and it is very popular in the Asian countries as night market food. I actually had never tried it so I really could not compare. They are deep fried balls of what tasted like mashed potatoes wrapped Octopus tentacles . Topped with shaved bonitos. Tasked okay...The hot and sour sauerkraut noodles with snakehead fish was really good... if you like Chinese pickled cabbage. The soup base was not red at all so it gives a false sense that it was not spicy. It actually had a nice kick, but not the chilly hot kick, but the green peppercorn numbing sense of burn. The soup was very flavorful and the fish slices were good. I don't know what is snakehead fish but it tasted like flounder but firmer. There were pieces of both regular tofu and fried tofu, as well as a couple of quail eggs. The decoration was simple with cute fish lights dangling from the ceiling and display if the noodles from different grains. The service was decent and they kept on checking if we needed more water and additional utensils. We will most likely come back to sample other noodles.

We went here for Saturday dinner. We ordered two noodle soups - one with readied beef and one with swai fillet. Pictures with more details. There are two staff in the front. STARS -Food quality is so good. Good variety of meat, quail egg, vegetable, broth and noodles -Multi color noodles are so unique and delicious -Tomato and original soup broth are tasty. Not too salty -Price is reasonable and affordable -Option of complimentary water or sweet tea drink (water was in recyclable cup with cap for kids)-Complimentary salted peanuts and picked vegetables also provided -East order system with QR code -Great customer service including making share sun glare was not in our eyes, offering refills for drinks and offering containers without prompting -Clean bathroom -Booster seat and high chair available -Not too many television screens (only one) - plus for me since I want to reduce screen time for familySTAIRS (areas of growth) -Wish they offered kid utensils and straws that were compostable but most restaurants seem to do the same -Would be good if bathroom has baby changing table . I didn't see one. -Recommend a discounts to help bring loyal customers back (e.g. BOGO on special occasions, free birthday meal with at least 1 paid meal)TIPS-Senior discounts on Tuesdays -Free snack for kids on Wednesdays -Yelp check in has 10% off coupon -Portions are pretty big and filling so you could eat your own bowl if you are hungry or share if you are not hungry or don't eat a lot I feel this place is very underrated and more people need to know how awesome this place is!

I strongly recommend getting the Signature Five-Grain Original Noodle Soup with Snakehead Fish. This creamy white seafood broth is perfection. I thought the best fish broth I've ever had was in Qian Dao Hu with their famous fish head soup, but this comes very close. While the five colored noodles are aesthetic, taste wise I didn't leave that impressed to be honest. Also, just a heads up to anyone who was thinking of getting the Fish Balls Noodle Soup -- this is not their signature bowl but with fish balls instead of actual slices of fish, no -- the broth seems to be entirely different, almost with a chicken bouillon flavor, somewhat reminiscent of Top Ramen. So I'd stick with the Signature. We really enjoyed our lunch here. The service was friendly, and they topped off our hot tea regularly. Loved the complimentary peanuts and pickled daikon.

I sat down for lunch, and ordered the brisket, tomato sauce, noodle bowl, boy that was so yummy so many depths of flavor and the dish is very generous. I had half of it. The nice lady working here helped me wrap the noodles to go and gave me peanuts and pickled turnips as well for her to go. They serve you hot floral tea. Very pleasant experience and will definitely come back.

Summary: Good portions, cheaper than average prices, but misleading senior discount. My parents and I came across this place by chance. (Originally we were going to the beef noodle place nearby, but there were concerns about it being too yeet-hay.) The menu looked interesting, five grains noodles, so we decided to try it. When we walked in, we saw a poster that said they offer senior discount of 10% on tuesdays, which happened to be today. The multicolored noodles were al dente, with generous portions of fish. The (hot and sour) sour cabbage/ fish noodles was 3 chili signs but we were able to have it modified to mild. The fish noodle soup was had a nice light milky fish broth. The braised beef shank and tendon was mildy spicy. YumThe tea they offered tasted like warm monk fruit water. This was a nice touch and anti-yeet-hay.Overall the meal was good, reasonably priced, good portions. However, the senior discount they advertised was a little misleading. My dad asked about the discount at checkout and they said, no you need to have ordered two spicy noodle dishes. It doesn't say that on the poster, but we didn't argue since the prices were already low. Total bill with tax was $38Easy parking, and plenty of seats.
