Fish & Things Poke Bar

We stumbled upon Fish & Things Poke Bar for lunch on our way to the Costco business center. What initially lured us in were the pictures, but the menu items caught our attention as well. We ordered a regular byo poke bowl and ahi poke tacos: - Regular BYO Poke Bowl (3 scoops of poke): $19.95 The three scoops of poke we ordered consisted of salmon, seared albacore tuna, and hawaiian ahi tuna pre-marinated. I'll speak on these three selections since these are the only ones we tried- they all smelled and tasted extremely fresh, even reminding us of poke in Hawaii, which is one of the freshest pokes you can get anywhere in the world. This may be one of the best poke spots in the South Bay for us! 5/5- Ahi Poke Tacos with creamy garlic sesame sauce (set of 3 tacos): $17.99-$2 for taco Tuesday == $15.99My partner had found this spot, said he thought I would like the ahi poke tacos, and highly recommended I order it. I didn't see any pictures beforehand so I didn't know what to expect... MY OH MY.. must I say this be one of the most unique and delicious tacos I've had. I've never had poke tacos before btw but this should be more of a thing??! The wrap was similar to fried wonton chips- crunchy, but not too crunchy where it cuts the top of your mouth. And the creamy garlic sesame sauce- omg, I could drink that.. it really brought the ahi tuna, cabbage, and wonton taco wrap together with it being tangy, sweet, creamy, and addicting. I will definitely be back for this ahi tuna taco WOW. 10000/5 SSSS TierWill I be back? You bet it! The precious lady who served us was welcoming and patient, the prices were extremely reasonable for the quality and freshness you get, the place was clean and organized, AND the food being THAT good? This is definitely a spot we will hit up again and again, despite it being further out from us. Y'all pls try this place, you won't regret it!

Fish & Things is such a hidden gem! It's tucked away in the corner of Silver Creek Plaza, which makes it easy to miss--but that works out perfectly because there's usually a short wait for food whenever I visit.Their poke is seriously fresh, and it beats out a lot of the other places that I've tried. I've had poke at other places where the rice would stick onto the bowl, but that didn't happen here, ever! Another great thing is their student discount: 15% off your bowl (one bowl only). Additionally, they're offering a free miso soup for in-store orders between December 2024 and January 2025. But just a heads up - the student discount doesn't apply if you opt for the free miso soup, so you'll need to decide which deal works best for you.Definitely highly recommend checking out this spot, especially if you're a student or looking for generous portions at a great value. For what you're getting in terms of taste and proportions, $20 is an amazing ask for an amazing and customizable bowl.

First timers and we absolutely loved it. We tried some of the faves here, Taco Trio and the Fish and Things Roll. Both were delicious with great flavor! The sauce combination is on point! Presentation was also nice! Service was great! Nice lil restaurant with plenty of parking in the shopping area. We will be back to again for sure!

A nice spot for poke and variety of rolls/signature dishes. We really enjoy coming here ever since trying their poke tacos which are really well done & unique. I wanted to write a review because we had the sweetest service from the girl with short hair/glasses who made our bowls!! She was super accommodating and and had the cutest clips in her hair. She gave us recommendations and really took her time to make our bowls. However, there was a coworker or lead criticizing how she was scooping our bowls in front of us which I felt was a bit unprofessional to do in front of the customer. She basically told her to serve us less which was uncomfortable in front of our faces lol but I hope she serves us again!!! 10/10 bowl from her!

My boyfriend and I come here almost every week. The fish is always fresh and packed with flavor! We usually get a large bowl and that comes with 5 proteins and that usually fills us up and the price is pretty reasonable, around $20! The owner is always so sweet and the workers are super nice!! highly recommend coming here if you want good poke!!

I came here on a Saturday around noon. The plaza has a donation bin, so I dropped off some clothing before entering the restaurant. The store was empty during the time, and there are around 5 tables in the store. I ordered the premade Hawaiian bowl while my dad ordered a custom bowl. The custom bowl's smallest size allowed for 3 different scoops of fish. And with the customization of the bowl, my dad's bowl portion ended up being more packed than mine. I'd probably do a custom bowl next time for more bang for my buck. Both the bowls were tasty; the fish and ingredients were all quite fresh. The macadamia nuts in my Hawaiian bowl were a great touch. The bowls were on the pricier end (compared to other places I've been with similar portion sizes), but they offer student discounts throughout the weekdays. Fish & Things is overall a reliable poke spot in West San Jose, especially if you're craving fresh fish and looking for customization. I'd be interested in trying their sushi, sashimi, and other menu items in the future!

Fish & Things has super fresh poke and a great variety of sauces/toppings, but for poke, their scoops for fish and veggies are TINY with far steeper prices than their competitors. A regular comes out to basically $20. Yelp check-in gives 5% off though. I'd come back for poke or to try the kitchen items (might be better value), but F&T is not one of my top poke picks. My biggest complaint is there's BARELY any veggies added. You get how much ever the spoon or tongs fit, and if any drops then oh well. "Extra" veggies are 50c each... ridiculous for something that barely made it in my bowl to begin with. I literally had 5 small cucumber slices. I understand charging for more premium toppings (extra seaweed salad or avocado), but more simple veggies like onions or cucumbers are never charged at other poke spots. Some sauces are on lighter here and seep more to the rice than coat the fish. I recommend a combination with spicy mayo, unagi, shoyu, or spicy/regular garlic soy! PASS on ponzu and F&T mix. Ponzu here is tangier than most and thinned out my other sauces. F&T mix tastes like straight salt and chili flakes, so not as savory. REGULAR POKE BOWL: $19.95 (4/5) + My recent order: salmon, spicy garlic soy + unagi + spicy mayo drizzle on top + Salmon is so buttery soft, veggies were high quality, and the crunchy toppings were the perfect finisher! + I've gotten spicy ponzu before and it didn't coat the fish well. I tried out spicy garlic soy this time and enjoyed it way more! My favorite combo would have to be shoyu + spicy mayo + unagi though.

Been here a couple of times now. First not long after they opened and then more recently. I remember they were super nice when I first visited, especially since we came like 10 minutes before closing. We got separate bowls that time. But this most recent time, my hubby came and picked up a large bowl for us to split. It comes with 5 scoops of fish. I've never heard of so many options as part of one bowl before. So that was nice. And then you can pick all the toppings. It did come with both the crab salad and the seaweed salad. For fruit, they had apple. I wish they had mango or pineapple or something more. I picked the tuna and salmon for my referred protein. I think we also got the spicey tuna, shrimp and like a pre-mix Hawaiian poke. It tasted fresh and delicious. The base options include rice and spring mix. A little pricey - well everything is now. It was over $25 with tax and tip. In addition, they offer sushi - rolls and platters as well as tacos. I will be back to try some of these next time. Plenty of parking in this plaza also.

Delicious and casual poke spot with a variety of other hot and cold dishes!I really appreciated the variety of dishes they have beyond building your own poke bowl. We ordered from their other options so they made our food in the back and it came out pretty quick. We got the Ahi Tuna Poke Crispy Tacos and Crispy Salmon Skin over Rice. The tacos were delicious and filled to the brim with tuna. It was nice to see they don't skimp out. Similarly, there was a large amount of crispy salmon skin over the rice and the salmon skin was actually super crispy and flavorful. They have a bunch of indoor seating, but it appeared to be much more of a casual pick up or delivery spot. Definitely recommend if you're in the area looking for a quick option or if you're ordering takeout or delivery!
