Takes over 30 minutes to deliver- can't see the meal preparation - from what was a walk up and step inside operation to ordering through bullet proof glass window. No sign of service of cross training for food safety ordinances. No gloves, no hairnets, the walk in area was stocked with old storage items broken furniture and soiled floors. We kept it moving. Did not order. They lost their soul

The food is well seasoned I know for a fact because it's all over my fingers, the chicken is seasoned great the fries, prawns hush puppies excellent I'm just mad you guys have remoulade sauce for my hush puppies anyway the service was a good handsome guy took my order very friendly and helpful and as well as the ambiance from a outside view is . Cool I'll definitely be back for another one

I was craving fish so bad today and my husband reminded me that hofap is now on doordash..that was an immediate yes for me and for us. I've eaten at this establishment on and off for many years and just like many years ago as of today the food is and always will be A-1. Fish crispy hot and fresh and so was the fries. This is my second time around with DoorDash and it will not be my last.

GOOD FRIDAY - SNAPPER AND PRAWNSOn the last Friday before Easter I drove here on a rainy day for lunch. When I arrived I noticed there was no place to eat inside. Outside I looked at the menu on the window. I knew I was going to get the fish and prawns combo. What's intriguing about the menu of this eatery is you can order a different type of fish. Normally at fish and chips joints the fish is cod. I love catfish, but I wanted to try something different. I wasn't going to order tilapia as that fish growing up as a Filipino Catholic reminds me too much of Lent. It was that fish made me rebel on eating fish on Fridays during Lent. I decided to get snapper. The combo came with two sides order. I ordered fries and coleslaw. After I placed my order the cashier informed me that I would be waiting for 25-30 minutes. As it was raining I stayed inside my car until my order was ready.Since there was no place to eat inside I got my order and went home. Throughout the 15-minute drive in the rain I wondered if the snapper, prawns, and fries would be soggy before I took a bite home. When I took a bite of my meal the fries and breading on the fish were still crispy. The reason why is because as I got the paper bag from the cashier she left an opening on the bag. This releases the steam, which makes the fried food soggy. The snapper provides a different texture than catfish, which is an oily fish. I've ate a whole fried snapper before, but never in pieces that were breaded and deep fried. The snapper has a meaty texture. What enhances this texture is the cornmeal breading. This crunchy breading absorbs the oil. The fries I had were the crinkle cut, which the appearance almost always make them look crispy. The fries were crispy. The prawns were butterflied. Most of the prawns can be too watery, but the prawns I ordered from Family House of Fish and Poultry weren't.After consuming the fish and prawns combo I didn't feel queasy. The breading was crispy, but not oily. As catfish is my favorite fish I order it if I decide to get fish. Since Lent will be over after Easter I can see myself ordering the chicken wings the next time I come Family House of Fish and Poultry.

Honestly some of the best fried food in the area! They are efficient and thoughtful when it come to ordering, packing, and giving you your food. Growing your I always past by this spot and alway though I would try it one day. Initially I was a little hesitant when to try this spot because of the outdated photos on Yelp and exterior of the building. I am so glad I stopped by and I finally got ti try this spot. It was honestly so good! I ordered a mix of seafood and chicken wings. I ordered a plaster potato pie and a few other items. I honestly recommend this spot especially for college students up the hill. The prices are very reasonable and the staff are all so kind! I will be back as soon as possible.

The service was fine. I ordered through a to go window so I can't speak to the ambiance.Now, this food, was terrible. There was no flavor at all. I ordered the 20 pc fish meal that comes with two sides and hush puppies. The fries were only enough for me 10 yr old daughter. The potato salad came in two, small pudding sized containers. That could've only been two snapper filets. They cut that fish up into 20 tiny, overcooked pieces with no salt. I wanted cornmeal and I got a weird batter. Needless to say, I'll never return.

The guy at the windows is always nice The food is made to order by the fish is fresh and tasty.I love the food and service

1st of all the fish is always very good, but for the price it is very small portions, and the fish is cut up. red snapper is long, they cut the fish up in small portions and you want to patronize black owned establishments, but it's hard when you spend 26 dollars, and you get 12 dollar's worth of food. guess I'm going to find another fish spot, Hope they get better with these serving portions for the price you pay. great fish and season. will miss this place. maybe I'll fry my own fish, because I can cook also, just time consuming. but for the amount of money i spend, it's cheaper to buy soul and snapper at the meat MARKET. THE PEOPLE ARE VERY NICE THERE, JUST ADD MORE AND BIGGER POTIONS.

Damn good food!We ordered the fried red snapper and spicy shrimp. Our food was ready as promised and the service was quick upon arrival.
