I've lived in the area for 3 years but started shopping at Estudillo. I've become increasingly frustrated with the nearby Safeways. Terrible produce, picked over isles or everything is locked up, then you wait in line for one of two cashiers open. I feel for their staff but separate review! Estudillo is welcoming, wonderfully stocked with the essentials and specialty things like unique spices, meats, local breads and fresh produce. Their shelves seem appropriately stocked with what they know they'll sell to a local clientele. I shopped here the other day having just come from Safeway and I immediately regretted the produce I figured I'd grab while I was at Safeway. Estudillo's green onions or cabbage for example looked so fresh and crisp and delicious. Why does everything at Safeway nowadays seem questionable and already going bad?!Anyways, this market is a gem. I told my husband I want to try to shop here and Galvans and Costco for all of our needs throughout the month. Supporting these local businesses is so important and I hope to stay committed to that! Thanks to all at Estudillo!

I have family and friends that have lived in this area for decades and I have been going to this strip mall bodega for decades. I go for their deli sandwiches which are like no other for the area. Dem thangs are delicious!! A real deli sando! The store stock upscale, organic, and hard to find items at a premium but so worth it. If you're not in the market for jarred cherry tomatoes packed in water, at least make it a point to grab a sandwich.

I like to get my sandwich from here. Every time I am chaperoning on my daughters field trip. I stop by here early morning to grab a delicious sandwich. I always get a salami/roast beef on a Dutch crust bread. Everything on it and it is delicious. The service is quick inside is a grocery store Also that sells lots of organics. You can call in and place your order or you can just order inside. It's usually really quick. Don't forget to get a stamp card

They have a deli with the "standards" but since I don't eat meat, this review is only for the tofu burger. Ordered at 1:30pm on a Thursday, they made it immediately and was ready by the time I had paid the cashier. Order at the deli, they give you a ticket and you pay at the cashier. You choose the bread (lovely deli worker recommended pantolino for the tofu burger), then decide other toppings. It comes with a slice of tomato, a couple of leaves of lettuce, onion (I asked for light), and pickles. I asked for mustard only (no mayo). Would have been even better with some ketchup and hot sauce. The bread recommendation was spot on and the tofu burger was warm. The store is pretty well stocked with good selection of produce, groceries, wine and snacks. A great quick pick-up for last minute dinner items. They have a stamp card for 12 sandwiches = 13th is free.

San Leandro is so lucky to have this neighborhood produce market. It is well-stocked with kitchen essentials--pasta, fruits & vegetables, sweets, fresh bread, cheeses, locally owned goods--hummus, bread & dry goods.I admit, items are not cheap but when your salad calls for arugula, vinegar, or some other random ingredient you have Estudillo Produce to the rescue (trust me, I've been there).I've never had a sandwich from here but I hear they're really good.Service is friendly & the store is always clean and organized.

Estudillo Produce is a very convenient in & out kind of place for us to pick up a gallon of milk, some fruit and veg and the occasional pint of ice cream. No, they are not inexpensive, nor are they expensive either. Independent markets are a disappearing breed and not shopping at them will cause us to end up with only what the big stores carry. Have you noticed old favorites disappearing for "new" brands? Estudillo Produce won't always have what you need in stock either, but if you and your recipe are flexible, you can usually find enough to fit the bill. Last night was cold and we're planning on making a Japanese soup dish called Oden tonight. I just needed some filler veg. Wanted Spinach or Napa Cabbage, Carrots, Zucchini, Mushrooms. They didn't have Spinach r Napa out so I got a small head of Green Cabbage instead. The version that we're making isn't exactly traditional so one more substitution isn't going to be detrimental to the dish. While I was there, I also grabbed a 1/2-gallon of Clover Milk and saved myself to the zoo called a grocery store on Thanksgiving week. Checkout was quick and friendly. I bagged my own and was in and out in less than 15 minutes. If you're in the area and have a few minutes to kill, drop on in and check out their offerings. I think that you'll be pleased.

Good sandwiches but terrible service if you try to attempt to get a quick sandwich for your lunch, you just wasted your time. I tried to show up extra early around 11 AM and still waited almost 25 to 30 minutes for a sandwich the snail pace, the workers make the sandwich is comical I canceled my order because the sandwich was still not made !! Better off going somewhere else if you're in a hurry

Well I read some of the reviews and most were ok but there were a few negative ones. I will accept that the market is higher priced but higher priced than what? Safeway, Trader Joes or other global grocers. What do you expect? I'ts a small business.I live near this market and have shopped there for over 20 years. I get stuff at trader joes I can't get there but I can afford, because of my situation to buy here as well. I can sympathise with someone whose income forces them to be a little more selective. I am lucky, I have a pension and so does my wife.It would be a sad situation if this market were to disappear from my neighbourhood. I go in there and can meet any number of people that live within a two mile radius of the store, I know the owner and most of the employees. I have spoken to employees over the years and they have said positive things about Julie the owner. As a union man for years this is important. From what I gather, the employees have been treated pretty well. This is a small business it' can't compete with Safeway. A couple of reviews commented on the owner and the staff not being friendly enough on one occasion. I have experienced that in many stores. I get it that at work when we are serving the public it is important to be friendly. But we are not saints and we have a bad day sometimes. The Frenchman that one review was intolerant, I give that guy a hard time on more than one occasion and he takes it all in stride and we joke about the EnglishFrench rivalry. I love the employees there and I urge folks to shop there. By all means give positive advice. But let's keep a community biases going.
