El Cerrito Natural Grocery

This is a beautiful market and cafe/deli. The parking was a little scarce but I soon found out why. I walked into the rear of the deli, from the parking lot, past the extensive wines sales area, and the very well stocked deli counter full of fresh made foods, and desserts as well as the dining area but was perplexed as there was no grocery. I asked one of the very helpful employees and they directed me to a building Nextdoor, same company, just the grocery part of this all encompassing store. I was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful and extensive amounts of fresh fruits and vegetables and the meat counter was emaculate with very helpful and kind butchers.I will definitely be back and I will most certainly tell my friends and family about this gem. I believe this is the best store for all your needs in the area!

My family and I live in Oakland but we keep coming to El Cerrito Natural Grocery store for over 2 years now :)Why do I come here? First of all, everything is organic so I don't have to read all the labels to see what is and what is not organic. Second of all, prices are fantastic and much more affordable than other places. Third of all, they have an amazing bulk/loose section where you can choose from. I get all my flours, rice, lentils, beans, nuts, dried fruits and more here and I am always happy! I bring my own jars whenever I can and i love that they offer brown paper bags instead of plastic bags. We absolutely try to be a zero waste family so this is in line with our values! I love that they spend time to research and find good serious brands that are making a serious impact on the planet in a positive way. I love their loose honey and coffee too! Also, various compostable products like plates and silverware for parties. The parking is limited but somehow you always find a spot :) and there is food annex right by it if you are hungry and running short on time. I love the area is quiet and safe! I highly recommend this store :)

EC Natch...probably my fave local business in El Cerrito. I've been shopping here for the last 20 years and have alway found high quality organic produce and groceries, bulk items, meat counter, specialty (vegetarian, vegan, GF foods). Plus a good-sized section of supplements, personal care, etc. The store is clean and well-stocked for a small neighborhood grocery. The Prepared Food Annex next door is a nice place to grab lunch, dinner, fresh juices, desserts, beer and wine, and even flowers and plants. Most of the employees are helpful and nice. There are a couple I avoid because of odd interactions but it's not enough to keep me away (and that's just life).

Best grocery ever! Amazing employees and love the fact that I don't have to worry about the fresh produce since all of it is organic!! This is the only grocery that I consistently shop at.

Updating this review because I've been reflecting on how often I find stuff here that I can't find anywhere else in El Cerrito: pasture-raised poultry and dairy, specialty flours, great coffee (with a clean, well-maintained grinding station), obscure organic spices, bulk organic nuts and seeds, etc. Maybe this isn't the place to buy broccoli, but the other vegetables are always incredible, and it's the ONLY place nearby to buy certain other ingredients, which makes it a precious and indispensable resource for residents! Bumping up to five stars, then, to reflect how much I value having this grocery so close, and how much I appreciate the variety and general quality.

I canme to get the Tamari Chicken and Spanish Rice. I also came to get a lemon bar. They didn't have any lemon bars today :(The Tamari Chicken was just okay and the Spanish Rice pan was empty, so I got the Mac n Cheese wirh a spoonful of greens. The Mac didn't taste that great. The greens were okay. The Tamari Chicken was just okay unlike the last time I had it.As always, the staff is great, but today the food was just okay.I'll still return another day and hope the food will taste better.

Good place to eat if your looking to keep it fresh and vegan. They had non vegan options but the vegan options looked good. Tried the Juice bar but the red juice was way to much ginger. Could have been better but I knew it was gonna be healthy tasting when I ordered it.

I have been a customer here for over 12 years and it's still my "go-to, quick grab, last minute necessities" organic local grocery store. Me and my family shop at the usual bigger stores in the area for the bulk of our needs as it is pricier than the others, but we like this market too for that last minute nearby grocery run. It's clean and well stocked!

I've been going here for many years. Definitely a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Nice selection of products and goods. The annex which is next-door to the grocery is a nice place as well. Nice selection of pre- prepared food, coffees, teas, and more. Very nice.

The prices are decent and they have a lot of the things I like to buy. But so often it smells like bad meat... You know that smell that an unclean butcher shop can give off? it's pretty gross. Usually, I like the checkout people, but lately there's very little contact with them as they are going on and on to each other in another language. Pretty rude to ignore the person your supposed to be serving.
