It's a shame the fare/menu wasn't more enticing because this spot is cute. From what I can tell, they are a proper all day cafe, even serving wine and beer.Nestled in the basement of the Claremont Hotel, they say at the entrance of the Carriage House, it has old school carriage house vibes. With sturdy wood farm tables and furniture, and walls adorned with oil paintings of bucolic surroundings and a window with those beautiful SF city views; it's got cozy vibes. My cappuccino was $6+. Woof. While the breakfast pastries looked decent most of the breakfast items were premade and needed to be warmed up, which always irks me with eggs and such. On the menu they have smoothies listed, but sadly I don't think that's an option anymore as the man at the cashier was surprised when I ordered one. Overall, I feel like a great spot for an overpriced coffee and a place to enjoy some leisure time in a unique setting, or work on the computer with feelings of almost being away from the hubbub. While there are food options, they seem limited, and with similar sentiments I have with other Claremont Hotel establishments, I'd assume a little over priced for what you get.

East Bay Provisions is convenient by location to the pool, to tennis. Nothing else about it is convenient, especially the turnaround time on orders. I've had several 20 min waits for them to warm up a premade sando. Multiply that by a line of guests ordering food and coffees and you're in for a serious wait. The food is okay. In a pinch, EBP is a pain.

Surprised that this place only has 3.5 star. We ordered a meat quiche, smoked salmon sandwich and a chocolate croissant. Everything is freshly made in the morning and flawless. The view from the cafe is also amazing. Every big window opens up to a view of the nature. Too bad that they close so early in the afternoon. It is a perfect place for lunch and to sit around for the entire afternoon to read.

When a spot across the street quoted us a 45 minute wait for lunch, my friend Mariko and I went in search of faster food and wound up at East Bay Provisions. Throughout our entire tennis game we'd been subjected to tempting aromas from nearby eateries so we were hungry upon arrival. We were glad to see a delicious array of sandwiches available in the case and even happier to hear that we didn't have to wait to get them. I had the ham, egg and cheese sandwich and Mariko had the gravlax salmon sandwich. We also ordered tea and coffee. There was almost no one else in the place so we had a big table to ourselves and were able to relax and eat in peace. As mamas to young kids, this is not something we take for granted (nor get very often!). The staff was kind and accommodating. The sandwiches weren't exactly hot but they were tasty and I'd return for another.

This little cafe's food is delightful, particularly if you're a guest at the Claremont hotel. The food is delicious, prepared and baked fresh daily, and the atmosphere feels like a farm country bakery. My favorite food items were the meat quiche (heavenly!), the salmon breakfast sandwich, chocolate croissant, cinnamon roll pastry, and ginger scone. They were all freshly baked, the perfect amount of sweet, and all flaky and doughy. So why 3 stars? I stayed at the Claremont for two extended weekends in a row and ate at Provisions at least 6 times during the course of those two weekends. The service here is pretty bad, the prices are steep, and the customer service is lacking. If you don't consistently persist regarding the status of your order, particularly around hot beverages, they'll completely lose sight of your order and you may never receive your beverage. We were offered complimentary pastries one time because it was such a mess. Another time, I ordered online, but when I went to pick up my order they let me know the espresso machine wasn't working and the treats we ordered weren't available. They were unable to refund me for the items they didn't have and asked that I just pick out new items to get "around" the same amount I'd already paid for. Uuuum what? Is that a thing? If you can't support online orders then don't offer them. The staff is very nice but I found the operations and actually getting my order to be somewhat complex and stressful, particularly for the price. We easily spent $60/visit here. I would have loved to enjoy the afternoon offerings, wine, and possibly other things but the hours on the sign and those advertised in the hotel didn't correspond to the actual hours of Provisions so we could never get this piece figured out and managed to miss it every time we tried. Oh well.

A lovely new addition to the Claremont Club & Spa, East Bay Provisions has a killer menu of delicious eats like pastries, sandwiches, salads, as well as a hearty selection of bottled wine and artisanal goodies perfect for treating yourself or gifting, like truffled honey, and beautiful house-made merengues! Decorated in a kind of casual rustic French theme, dining in affords a gorgeous view of the Bay- but they also offer grab and go options. Just following the restaurant on Instagram will make you drool over the possibilities and keep you excited for your next visit! The staff is friendly and welcoming to diners, whether a hotel guest or not. The ham & cheese on a pretzel croissant is certainly something worth dreaming about! I can't wait to see what other delicious items they come up with.

There are places where a review calls for the nuanced consideration of a wide array of factors. And then there are places where one issue so predominates that it's enough to point it out. Unfortunately East Bay Provisions is such a place. That issue is price. Here are some prices you can expect to pay:Cappuccino - $7Cookie - $5Almond croissant - $7A cup of earl grey tea - $6I anticipate that by 2030 I'll be able to buy a Boring Company replicator for not much more than a single cup of tea at East Bay Provisions and then make tea, earl grey, hot, to my heart's content.Listen, I get that good stuff costs more. But East Bay Provisions is mediocre food at peak season Aspen pricing. That almond croissant? Not exactly Arsicault (which is cheaper too, by the way). Don't even get me started on a $7 cappuccino. And it isn't like there aren't other options around. Fournier makes a terrific baguette 75 feet away. The Claremont has set up East Bay Provisions with rustic communal tables and the sort of ambiance that makes you think you're in a farm-to-table Marin evocation of Italy circa Call Me By Your Name. But make no mistake, this is a cynical Fairmont cash grab aimed squarely at people who are tacking the check onto their expensed hotel bill without even looking at it.Here's my advice to East Bay Provisions: cut every price by 40%. Then rebuild your credibility with the neighborhood.

Piping hot Vegan breakfast burrito and grilled salmon n egg sandwich with tasty capers! Super good and tasty. Perfectly seasoned. Ask for hot sauce if needed. Better food and value than Limewood Restaurant - where our appetizers were barely warm.
