Park St Alameda, CA 94501It was Sunday, July 28, and I went to the Alameda Art & Wine Faire! Now, if you came to this outdoor event expecting art galleries and rows of wine tasting booths, you probably left disappointed. The Art & Wine Faire can be described as a mix of a summer street fair and a carnival. Great place to bring the kids. I spent 4 hours there. When I got tired of walking around, I went inside The Ark restaurant and had a bowl of Won Ton Soup. Meanwhile, outside there were arts & crafts, jewelry, posters, kettle corn, bbq, giant hotdogs, ice cream, beer & wine, and live music. I paid $8 for a twist ice cream cone. But when you're in a festive environment, with lots people around, food & drink seem to taste better. You enjoy yourself. The crowd was polite, no troublemakers. I have lived in Alameda for over 50 years. This annual event gives us a chance to see interesting and unique arts and crafts, listen to live music, eat fun foods, drink beer & wine, and get out and enjoy the great weather. So, next year come join us! Free Admission, you buy food and drinks.

7/27/24 and 7/28/24.So glad that this event is still so robust! I got worried when we got here and noticed the event did not start until we got to Park Street and Central Avenue. In the previous years, it started much closer to Alameda South Shore Center (mall).Quality/Quantity - 200+ arts and crafts booths.Live entertainment, two bands while we were here on opposite sides of the fair. 3 stages total. We never got to the 3rd stage. We finished our walk at my favorite local brewery.Kids area - This year there was an actual ferries wheel. See picture. Many food and drink options, see pictures.4 beer and wine booths.7 locations for porta potties. See website for directions. Hard to miss when walking...And of course, the 400 Park Street businesses that we need to also support during the fair.Atmosphere - See above.Service - Free valet bike parking @ 1527 Park St.Public transit or rideshare. Limited parking due to the event. We parked over half a mile away and walked.Dog friendly.Price - Free event, other cost depends on what you eat or drink or buy.Owner Comment - Congrats on your success. And I believe this is your 40th anniversary for this event...?

Wow! Heard great things about this fair and it did not disappoint! The Locksford Sausage was just amazing and worth $10! So big and fresh where when you bite into the casing had a nice crisp to it which is how you know it's fresh. I end up buying more that I intended with Beef jerkey chips and Mexican's Gaspachos fruit with tantin which made me think of my trip to Guadalajara. Fair food is pricey but the quality of food is great. Also the vendors had unique items I haven't seen before like puzzles made of wood with comics covers. I am glad I made my trek here and got a chance to explore this art and wine festivals. Sometimes you have to travel far from your comfort zone to explore new things which can be fun like today!

I had a good time here!!I have been meaning to go to the Downtown Alameda Art & Wine Festival for a while, and Covid took this event away for a few years, so when it came back, I had to check it out!!I am neither into Art or Wine, but I do enjoy hanging out at a good local festival for a while, and this one did not disappoint!!It took up at least 5-6 blocks on Park Street, lots of vendors, plenty of food options, multiple stages for music, but the main music stage was jumping!!It was crazy crowded also, it took me a while to find someplace to park. Some people really got turned up here for real!!Great music, great weather, and good times!!!

So it came back. Seriously have no idea why it left for 3 years, but that's a pack of lies we won't go into here. This by far is prolly the best street faire around. We've been to the Lafayette and Walnut Creek ones and they are nothing compared to this. There is room for improvement though. More on that in a minute. So the best thing is really quality vendors. We rarely find anything to buy at these other street faires because quite honestly it is mostly junk. The music is always great. The food is, well, street food. Best is Lockford sausage. The crowd is polite.I don't think the peeps putting this thing on realized how many people this was going to attract this year after the 3 year hiatus. It was packed. Take a hint.... people didn't like the lock down BS.Here is the area for improvement. So given the crowd it caused issues at the drink ticket and drink stations. They ran out of some glasses early as well as the American champs. Also, and here is the main area of improvement.... More wines to choose from. WTF, we are an hour away from Napa/Sonoma. Reach out and bring in some more better vino. As a side note, it's nice to be able to drop into a local establishment and walk out with a libation of your choice and walk around just like Vegas or New Orleans. Looking forward to next year. Please keep it going despite any BS coming down the pipe.

Tis a land of treasures far as the eye can see. There's classic fair food options: fried stuff, giant turkey legs, sausages, gyros, crab rolls,Kettle corn, soft serve etc so be ready to behave like a HOG and EAT. The food is lowkey overpriced though. The wine and beer stands usually have long lines so pro tip--grab a margarita at La Penca or hit up any of the local bars that are open on park st. There's usually 3 stages with live music (Motown, 80s rock, blues, Latin etc) & people get super drunk and start dancing and it's super entertaining to watch. There's activities for children such as face painting and bungee trampoline so it makes for a family friendly event. After grabbing your drank you can peruse the various art stands and sample candied nuts, olive oil and whatever else your boujie little heart desires. Parking and traffic getting into the island will be hellish but there's usually parking at the alameda library. I will be in attendance every year!

The Alameda Art & Wine Festival is an event that takes place annually over a weekend in late July, in the heart of downtown Alameda. There is no entry fee. They offer different types of wine and beer which you can buy tickets for, and you will need to purchase a glass unless you bring one from a previous year (it has to be from the Alameda Art & Wine festival). This fair has more vendors than other fairs I've been to around the Bay, and a really good selection of artwork and other merchandise. My walls are decorated with artwork I have purchased at this fair over the years - primarily photography of San Francisco. If you're looking for a gift for someone - or yourself! - you will find plenty of nice stuff to choose from. In addition to art, there are vendors of jewelry, clothing, natural soaps/beauty products, gourmet food, and more. Bring plenty of cash. Don't forget the sunscreen and a hat. Enjoy! I'm already looking forward to next year's event.

It was a nice experience on a nice day! My hubby and I had a great time here. We are not much for purchasing art but it was great to check it out! Their unique ideas for their art pieces were just awesome to see. If I bought any pieces, I would not know where to place them! ;-)My main purchase to come was for the food and drinks! There are lots to choose from. Had Lobster sliders, brats, drinks and cookies!! So many good places to eats but my stomach was not big enough to consume!!Many places are credit cars only and others cash only so bring both! There were plenty of seating around. Two bands playing music from both ends of the faire. Parking is as difficult and had to park three blocks away but we didn't mind it! Alameda has changed and is now a happening place to be. We will be back next year! [77/100]
