My neighborhood liquor store when I lived in this area back in the day...Friendly service?? Not really. I used to only buy beer, water or candy here. Not to trusting of perishable items here.Your basic Hood liquor store that hasn't changed at all...

In August 2020 the Asian man at the cash register announced my bill was $40 even.He also did not offer me a receipt.Hmmm... but I was in a rush so I just left. At home I checked through what I purchased and added up the prices in my head and came up way short of $40. Back to the store I went. Without my groceries I walked inside and asked him to print out my receipt. He did and I quickly counted 16 items on the bill when I had only purchased 11. He asked me to bring the groceries back in from the car so he could count them. I did and upon proving my case he admitted over charging me 5 items which amounted to ten dollars extra on a thirty dollar total purchase. He refunded the difference to me in cash on the spot. Stealing from hard working seniors during a pandemic is beyond evil.DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS STORE.THEY ARE STEALING FROM YOU TOOWayne WaltersOakland CA

Horrible place!! I tried to use my credit card that I use for Postmates, that is a company credit card and does not have my name, for and order I received. Once I picked all the things for the order, and went to go pay, the guy at the counter ran the card and asked to see my ID. I'm saying to myself why would you need this when is Postmates car does not have my name is a Postmates card. He then said he cannot use the card because the name on the card needs to match my ID. The guy said he's had fraud happen before so he cant run the order. I have the Postmates bag sitting on the counter, the order showing on my phone, and the card. Why in the world would I or anyone pretend to have a job to fraud a corner liquor store just to get $25 of items??!I then asked him, "So someone pretended to be a Postmates employee and frauded you this way?" He said, "No, the person was just a regular customer." Then I said, "Then what does this have to do with that? This is a business that you signed up to do business with. You should already know this isn't fraud because you signed up for it." This is when he became more hostile simply from my questioning so I just left. I was curious to see the reviews on yelp and they all seem to match my experience lol! I honestly do not see how or why this guy is still in business especially with other viable options to get toiletries and liquor from that are much cheaper than paying five dollars for a roll of toilet paper at the store. If I saw an enemy of mine, I mean a real adversary... like Rita Repulsa was to the Power Rangers type of enemy, I wouldn't even recommend this place to them or anyone else

Terrible greedy and dishonest people. The owners overcharge me for a Hershey bar. They charged $4.98 for something you can get at any other store at $1-$2 max. Extremely unethical. When confronted, they told me well that's price when they know they are overcharging. They should be shut down. Cheating all their customers. Don't go to this store. They will rob you blind.

(review from 2010)Only buy beer or liquor. Everything else is either expired or two days from being expired.Try to catch them on a good day (whatever that means) because stuff seems to change price depends on who is working. Went in one day for a stamp, 50 cents, three days later, 75 cents.

I usually don't write reviews for liquor stores but I just had to share this experience. I came in asking if I could get change for a $20 bill. Keyword: *asking* it was a simple yes or no. The Asian cashier man proceeded to give me change while bashing me like oh you know, usually when you want change. You buy something like for a $1 etc.. Blah blah blah Yes I am fully aware of that lol that's why I politely "asked".... If he didn't want to give me change just simply say no, I can go elsewhere! This was my first time in his store and last time! I am glad I didn't spend a penny there. His rude, hostile, and disrespectful behavior was uncalled for. Maybe his business is not going well that's why he's taking it out on people smh there's so many liquor stores out here in Oakland ran by people with better attitudes!

Our go to place to get beer when we forget to stop at the store on the way to our friend's house. Crappy parking lot, but at least there is one. Nice people, reasonably priced beer. What's not to like?

Dave's changed ownership a few years back. Shame they didn't change the name, the prev. Reviews are for old ownership no doubt because it was way different like others describe re: price gouging, etc. The new management is dope. Friendly, not shady re: prices, there's a good variety of craft beer/ liquor/ ice cream and non perishables. They are open late and have saved my ass late nights when I need cat food or toilet paper and forgot to go to the store earlier. Everyone I know who lives in the neighborhood goes there.
