Damavand Market is the typical small Middle East/Afghan market. it's packed with the essentials: halal meats. fresh afghan breads, groceries, limited fresh produce, spices, grains, sauces, spices, sweets...buys: plain toast (tostada), 30 slices (1.99)-contains little fats, sugar, sodium, carbs. just 30 calories each.unlike other baked items which are quite fatty.-flavor neutral, may satisfy snack attacks.notes:-parking spaces are few.

All their food are expired I recommend not to come here and spend your money believe me. I will take a picture so you can see it. The cucumbers are expired the bottles I told him but he just laughed. He thought it was a joke, but I'll show you right now. All pies are expired.

As we were waiting for our food next door, I decided to pop on into this market as I did need some sumak and it's always fun walking into markets to discover other items. This market is focused on a lot of middle eastern items. So if you're ever in the need for spices, you can find them here like fenugreek, sumak, etc. They also had a lot of different teas, vegetables, fruit, a butcher in the back and bakery/pastry items in the front.I did get my sumak and decided to try out a different brand. Little did I know it was brand that makes sumak here in Fremont. Always good to support a local business. I didn't really take a good look at their produce nor anything much more than what I wanted which was to get sumak so I can't comment to the quality of that.Parking is shared by the kabob place so it's small like 2 spaces. You can always park on the street and walk inside. I'm sure the folks next door utilize this market for their meats and spices. Useful, if you ask me!They accept credit card though I ended up paying in cash.Small market that's convenient if you're needing specific middle eastern items and well if you're next door picking up food, it's not a bad time to just stop by to take a peek.

Terrible customer service. Groceries almost always have mold or fungus. When you tell the owner or cashiers, they don't care, no apologies, even get upset you tell them about it. This is Fremont, there are a ton of other markets that sell bread and halal meat. Bread at Maiwand is better, customer service at Herat Market is always great. Damavand is literally 5 minutes walking distance from my place, but I'll drive a little further to Herat because they treat customers with respect and own up to their mistakes if they ever have any. Also, Damavand doesn't follow health regulations. I've been seeing workers without masks, flossing their teeth, smoking, etc. So nasty, smh.

Got what I needed but my impression wasn't great of the quality of what I purchased. I agree with another reviewer, the customer service could be way better. People that work there do not wear masks.

Terrible place with exceptionally negative service here! I would say avoid this place! bad neighborhood, with alarming dangerous cashiers. Many products have no price sticker on them.
