What a lovely find on our over night adventure. We needed something to fuel our upcoming hike so this is where we ended up On the way out to the George Miller Trail. We ordered the 1/3 lb burger with clam chowder and the Philly cheese Sammy with garlic fries. Food came quickly and was piping hot. The lady who took our order brought the food out to our table. Everything was delish. The clam chowder was my favorite, made in house, and full of flavor. My husband loved his Philly. The baguette it was served on was fantastic. The portion of fries was very large. The dining room is cozy with many extra table on their patio. The lack of a star comes from a lack ofParking. Sadly, no parking lot and very limited street parking. Worth it to try and find yourself a spot!

Ordered a burger and garlic fries, wasn't impressed at all! Burger was flavorless and the texture was questionable. The reviews speak of delicious food and this couldn't possibly be the food they were talking about. Needless to say I'll NEVER go back!!!!!

The only times I'm ever in Crockett is if I feel like hiking in either Crockett Hills (rare lately after a dog attacked me) or Carquinez Strait Regional Shoreline (often because I can grab a cocktail at the Warehouse in Port Costa). Regardless I usually find myself driving past the town center except this time I decided to make a stop at this cafe that I last recall was a friendly taqueria named Judy's Place. That was a couple of years ago.Now it's become a kinda hybrid diner/burger/pasta place which certainly makes for a unique menu. I've stopped by a couple of times, and I have to admit the food fell a bit short each time. On my first visit, I tried the $13.99 Big Blue Wedge Salad, which was indeed a big plate with plenty of iceberg lettuce, crumbled blue cheese, cherry tomatoes, chopped green onion, and bacon bits. I just found the blue cheese too excessive for my taste (photo: https://yelp.to/9-Gsba6eSO).I came back a few months later and was in a pasta mood. I decided to order the $19.99 Pasta Primavera with Chicken. The requisite vegetables were present - bits of broccoli, shards of zucchini, sliced mushrooms - as well as plentiful Parmesan shavings. The problem for me was the unexpected addition of a cream sauce which just struck me as an unnecessarily calorific choice (photo: https://yelp.to/kC7ozKSjGL).The $12.99 Caesar Salad turned out to be a better option for me because surprisingly it was underdressed (photo: https://yelp.to/4lrEAUZ90q). According to their menu, they offer burgers, tacos, chicken tenders, calamari, nachos, tuna melts, even a fresh mozzarella sando. I might come back and give something else a try. I also have to share that I didn't feel the service was terribly warm, at least compared with Judy and her tacos.FOOD - 3 stars...hearty plates hamstrung by slight misstepsAMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...still a small space, seating felt limitedSERVICE - 3 stars...fitfulTOTAL - 3 stars...not quite the comfort food I was looking forRELATED - Exploring this part of Contra Costa County? Food was delicious. Staff very pleasant. Obviously a locals hangout. Best to avoid school lunch hour as it is across the street from John Swett high school and they have a special students menu

Round Two of Crockett Cocina ReviewTwo days after having Crockett Cocina I had return to try out the Fresh Clam Chowder. I will say that their Clam Chowder surely tops Boudin Bakery which also surprises me because they offer it in a bread bowl. I did love the Clam Chowder that was served at Crockett Cocina. Even the bread that was offer with the Clam Chowder was good!I can see Crockett Cocina being the place to be at when you are in Crockett even if you live there or visting. It is a nice establishment that can flourish with people returning for more food from this place. Keep up the good work Crockett Cocina!

Overall: 4.5/5 stars- divey atmosphere, can be hard to find parking- lots of people coming in for ordering, mostly takeaways- some indoor and outdoor seating- good food with solid portions even for happy hour specials- counter ordering, but they will bring your food to youCame here for Mom's birthday after finding out Hercules's Powder Keg Pub was closed by accident. Street parking was a little tough to find on the Main Street at 5:30pm. However, the menu appeared to have things everyone in the family would eat, and Mom wanted a sit down restaurant that wasn't bougie. Calamari: rings were a tiny bit chewy but breaded well and otherwise fresh. Linguine Alfredo: thick and creamy. Shrimp was cooked just right. Carne asada street tacos: VERY flavorful, marinated well. Side portion of garlic fries were huge. Less greasy (thankfully) than what you get at a Giants game. 1/4 JR burger: decent. Bread wasn't amazing. Could have been better had bread been grilled. Fries were hot and fresh. The portion of fries were huge. Quarter pounder felt like a decent size for my sister. Service, was pretty busy..., but they definitely checked in on us once the ordering slowed and at least three times. "Would you come here again?"--Me: absolutely. I think the prices and portions are hard to beat right now. --Dad: (hangry) "I wanted the Powder Keg."--Sis: yes. Would recommend it. Menu had a decent selection...something for everyone. Happy hour, breakfast, lunch, dinner and student menu. Only downfall: cute Mom and Pop, but parking is not great. --Mom: "I wanted the Powder Keg."

I've been here a bunch of times with family and by my self. I've eaten indoors & out! But I've basically only had one dish! The cioppino! I just love the seafood stew!! You order and pay at the counter and they'll bring your food and silverware to you. It's definitely a divvy kinda place and I absolutely love it!!
