Cute cozy spot in Crescent Drive! We stopped by for lunch on a weekday. Limited parking on the main street. The restaurant is spacious, tidy, and inviting. We were welcomed immediately and seated right away. Likely busier on the weekend and evenings. Staff are courteous and attentive.CURED SALMON DEVILED EGGS: Delicious! Love a good deviled egg. The most delicate little piece of salmon lol. BISTRO BOWL (with shrimp): This is FIRE. So fresh and well-balanced, not too heavy while very satisfying. I loved the roasted cauliflower. Whatever dressing they made coated and seasoned the arugula perfectly.Great happy hour deals! I would definitely come back next time I'm craving a healthy but hearty meal.

We happened to be in the area and remembered seeing this place on "Check, please!" They were raving about their braised short ribs and bread pudding so of course we had to see what they were all about. We started with their deviled eggs which were both thought tasted kinda weird. Can't really quite figure out what it tasted like but was definitely lacking the taste of egg yolk. Chalk it up to egg shortage? We almost ordered the fried chicken but saw them serve it to the table next to us who chose to have it sent back because it was burnt. We got the almond-crusted halibut and red wine braised short ribs. We had to wait a while... they got behind on orders we were told. Both were just okay and didn't think they were worth the hype. Short ribs didn't have enough flavor in itself so they serve it on top of mashed potatoes smothered with gravy. Still just ok. Had to try the bread pudding with fresh raspberries. It was good but nothing extra ordinary and I've also had better. I guess we went there with such high expectations and was hoping to be blown away but just did not happen. Portions are ok but a bit pricey compared to other places. A lot of other places in the area so not sure if we'll be going back any time soon. Definitely would not go out of our way, but worth a try.

I've been here for dinner a couple of times, as well as happy hour and brunch. This is a good option for tasty food in Downtown Pleasant Hill, though it is a bit pricey. There is plenty of parking in the lot behind the restaurant.Service is usually good here - I've had excellent service when it's less busy, and less attentive service when it's packed. It's not a huge place, but there is a decent amount of indoor seating as well as some outdoor patio seating with heat lamps. Good for parties of 2-4 people. For any more than that, you should make a reservation. The food is the highlight here. Here are some menu items I recommend:Snacks/share plates:-Pork Belly Buns - comes with two, these are large! The pork belly is tender.-Cured Salmon Deviled Eggs-Spinach Artichoke Dip-Jalapeno Cheddar DoughnutsEntrees:-Southern Fried Chicken-Red Wine Braised Short RibAlso a good spot for Happy Hour (from 3-6)!

A modern, clean, and chic bistro for the yuppy and well to do citizens of Pleasant Hill...lovely! Great Food! Just be sure to try to be seated inside or directly in the front patio...we were seated on the side patio and received rather limited service, which tends to happen at any place where one is seated in secluded area out of sight form the staff. Coffee, teas, and waters were not refilled. If we had received a normal level of attention this could've been a 5 star place...$21 Fried Chicken and Waffles...GREAT FRIED CHICKEN!!! Came with two thighs and a leg, the breading was thick, crunchy, with a tasty spice and herb blended in...so good! The waffle was nice and crispy with a delicious rich sweet maple syrup and decadent bourbon pecan infused butter. If you're a fan of Chicken and Waffles, eat this!$15 Mac & Cheese...definitely an elevated version of this Southern classic! Premium cheddar, provolone, and parmesan cheeses made into a rich creamy sauce with andouilles sausage and garlic. Excellent.

It's been a minute, but we came back. This place is still as good as I remember. First off, lovely restaurant, good music, nice servers and the food is great. We got a couple drinks, 2 orders of the short ribs, fried chicken and the chicken tenders from the children's menu. Also the bread pudding is delicious. All delicious and perfectly cooked! Excited for our next meal.

Popped in for dinner before a movie. Service was fast and friendly. Server knew the menu well and answered our questions.Parmesan fries were crunchy with a decent amount of garlic and cheese. Ceasar salad was decent but could have used a little more dressing. Jalapeno cheddar doughnuts were cheesy, soft inside, nice crunch, dipping sauce brought a bacon surprise. Dipping pieces in the fry sauce added a nice kick. Gnocchi was tender with nice chunks of sausage. Creamy irish coffee was thoroughly enjoyed by the wife. Worth a 2nd or 3rd visit!

Gayle and I drove down to the Bay Area (from Genoa NV) last Saturday to see 2 Berkeley Rep plays (Matchbox Magic Flute and Jaja's African Hair Braiding) over the weekend. These shows are always worth the ~4 hour drive. We stopped in Pleasant Hill for Lunch, before proceeding to pick up our theater friends in Walnut Creek. We wanted to try something new, plus take a look on how Downtown Pleasant Hill has been coming along. An online review of the menu here led us to this choice. This spot has hosted other dining establishments, of which we think we've been here, but couldn't remember the name.Anyway, we came in a little early (11:30) for Lunch, but with a unique brunch menu waiting for us. Service was a little slow at first, but picked up well into our meal. The atmosphere was casual, with nicely spaced inside and outdoor tables. We chose the former as it was a little chilly outside. Gayle and I ended up ordering off the breakfast side of the menu, beginning with a tasty Bloody Mary for her and fresh squeezed orange juice for me. Her choice was the Mushroom and Swiss Omelet, while mine was the Breakfast Tacos. The former consisted of 3 eggs, crimini mushrooms, caramelized onions, spinach, Swiss cheese, and a mixed green salad on the side. The later featured cheddar cheese crusted tortillas, scrambled eggs, chorizo, and potato hash, topped with poblano pepper cream and cilantro. It's a good thing that we ate light in the early morning driving out, as the portions were generous as they were delicious. I'm not sure when we'll be back in Pleasant Hill, but there are separate Lunch and Dinner menus to consider.

So for a family gathering, we got together for brunch at the Crescent bistro. First I would like to say when I walked up it was in a nice area of downtown Pleasant Hill. I really love that they had outdoor seating when I walked into the restaurant. Everything was very clean and had high ceilings so it looked really big, even though it was kind of on the smaller side. When I sat down with my party, there was water included and nice glass bottles, with a lot of aesthetic decor that was very inviting. The menu range from small plates to sides to brunch to entrées. This is definitely a place where you could go and enjoy it any time of day. I would love to go here again. The bar was open right in the middle as well. I ordered the breakfast tacos, which a lot of goodies and toppings on top of them. When the food came out, there was so much most of the plates you could share with someone. The breakfast tacos had cheddar grilled cheese on the outside of the taco which gave it a great crunch and a really good sauce with cilantro. It was definitely my favorite. I had one taco left over. A treat to share with someone interested in coming in this place. We also only had to pay $20 for a fee. We bought two champagne bottles of our own. The server was really sweet. All pf the workers helped out. Once we were done, we took photos and we really love the place. Definitely it's a place to come for brunch or any type of event. I will be back for sure.

We came here specifically for dessert after eating dinner nearby so we could try the blackberry bread pudding and ricotta beignets. Both desserts were incredible and perfect size to share between three people. Coffee was very good as well.We will definitely have to come back and try the food and cocktails - menu and pics posted online look really good.

I went here back in July with my sisters and what they had to offer was spectacular. We went here on a Saturday in mid-July. Our server was extremely friendly, and wanted to make sure we had an excellent time here. We got parmasean garlic fries to start off, and we got a beet salad, an heirloom tomato salad and a portobello mushroom salad. Drink-wise, my little sister got a creamy Irish coffee since she had turned 21 earlier that month, and I can't remember what other drink we got. Overall, my sisters and I are for sure coming back here again. Everything about Crescent Bistro was lit. The environment was nice and smooth-sailing.
