Nice meal to cap off a nice evening. I'll be completely honest - I'm definitely outside of my usual element here as the food was great but the prices are a bit high for the amount we received, but nonetheless- the food was quite good.

I had a lovely experience back in June with my parents and partner at this spot. We made a last-minute reservation here after striking out with winery plans in the late afternoon--don't confuse the restaurant location with the wine bar location like we did! Both are within walking distance to each other. We got our wine fix tended to perfectly here. We asked about wines that would serve for all of our different preferences and with the food we ordered, and we got recommendations that we all loved from a staff member who knew his wines. I wish I remembered his name. It was my partner's first time in the Napa area and we were bummed to miss out on the wineries, but the staff member's expertise really came through for our late afternoon / early evening dinner and wine and we can't thank him enough for brightening our experience, as well as the servers who tended to us!Our food was delicious too, and we ordered the following from what I recall: California cheese board, daily bread (with butter), beef tartare, crudo (I don't recall which fish), ceviche, and almond cake. I'd love to come back here when we're all in the area again.

We really have to thank the manager Jeff and our waiter Andrew for making this an awesome experience! We had to make a last minute reservation for a big party and they were SO sweet and accommodating for our party of 14. The food was so tasty and the ambiance was perfect for our party. We really thank the team here for there kindness!

Food here is very good. The cheeseburger is one of the better burgers I have had in a while. Duck fat fries are a must. Fried chicken sandwich is fantastic as well.

There are so many good and tasty restaurants in napa and this is not one of them. This might be a nice place to catch a drink but certainly not for dinner. Their price point didn't align with the quality and taste.First, their famous duck fat french fries. Nothing special because they literally tasted like regular fries. There was barely any hint of duck. Rockfish: There was no mention of chili oil used on their menu and that combination tasted really odd. Not only did it not complement the fish, it was overpowering and over shadowed the freshness of the fish. Fried chicken: it was juicy but bland. They overcompensated the base marinate with heavy salt on the flour coating. Overall rating: will but return

Food was some of the most underwhelming I've had in a while. The carbonara was tasteless, although the noodles were perfectly prepared. Pepper and Parmesan would have rescued the taste. The egg may have been rancid. One of our party went to the restroom to get it out of his stomach.Meatballs were juicy and well prepared, but the sauce was so acidic that it completely ruined the dish.The "tartare" didn't come with egg yolk, and also didn't come with taste. Well presented, but it's all bark and no bite.Highlights: duck fat fries were amazing, and Andrew's service was perfect.

I came here to celebrate my birthday with a friend. The staff were all warm and friendly and we felt well taken care of! Matt was especially helpful at refilling our water, wine and clearing our plates. We even accidentally dropped our fork and he promptly picked it up and offered us a new one! Our server knew the menu so well and had great recommendations for food. He also knew the wine list like the back of his hand and gave us a whole history lesson on one of the local bottles of wine. I was very impressed! The duck fat fries came highly recommended and were served crispy and hot with a garlicy aioli! We loved them. The carbonara was one of the creamiest carbonara's I've had. The braised lamb pappardelle was flavorful and delicious! We loved the vibe of this place from the seating areas, to the staff, to the menu items. We enjoyed our time here and it is perfectly located in downtown Napa! I would recommend this place to try especially for the wine.

One Thursday evening my husband and I finally set foot at Compline. Without a reservation, we ended at the Bar for drinks and eventually dinner. Our server was great in recommending appetizers and main courses to try. With the 4 items we had, I would order the burger again. Other than that, I thought the carbonara was so rich. The deviled eggs and steak tartare were ok.This place was happening on a Thursday night and the decor is very nice. If you want to enjoy a sit down dinner, a reservation is a must. We will be back to try some of the other offerings they have.

Love the First Street area where Compline is located. Was kind of shocked at how empty it was for a Friday night. I sat at the bar and ordered a glass of red wine which was $20, but it was pretty tasty. For my entree, I did the steak with Chimichurri which I thought was pretty good. The crispy potatoes that came with the dish were delicious and the Chimichurri sauce that was over the steak (cooked medium rare) was very light and good too. What I enjoyed most about this place was that the portions were somewhat small, but very filling. Many would probably think the entree portions are too small here, but I enjoyed it for what it was. Service at the bar was good and overall ambiance of the location was romantic and classy but not stuffy.

The waiter helped us pick out a nice bottle of wine and this is a cute spot with a great vibe. My carbonara was delectable and the fries were delicious. My boyfriend also enjoyed his gnudi a lot but wished it had a slightly larger portion. My parents liked their burgers, but felt that they were only okay quality for the price.
