Charlie's Las Palmas Restaurant

It's Thursday after tennis and I'm hungry. I meant to get a shrimp Po boy sandwich across the street but they were closed. I came across this place and decided to get a shrimp super burrito. It was pretty huge but I ate the whole thing. It's packed with all kinds of stuff. I think there are fair number of people that would opt to perhaps eat half now and a half later. This is strictly a takeout place. A pretty nondescript establishment. This is my first time here so I can't comment on the other items they have on the menu. But I can assure you if you order a super burrito that you won't go away feeling hungry.

Never disappoints me and my bf always get a combo plate the fried catfish with shrimp and fries, it's enough to feed 2 people. Always fresh and seasoned just right. No photo would be decent enough to make up for how good it taste lol will definitely eat here again

I had a Fresh Charge on my Ankle Bracelet so I jumped into my Rover Whip and rolled to Rue Rues BBQ . When I arrived there I found that they were Closed when their posted hours said open . Epic Failure !!!So I rolled down the Street and rolled into Charlie's Las Palmas Restaurant and Ordered up a Catfish Meal . Usual wait 10 Minutes . Charlie's is Straight Up in the Hood !!! Straight up Ghetto Fabulous , But I wasn't worried I had my Go Bag with me.Fun Fact I was on a Jury a Few years ago that Convicted a Mass Murder that lived right down the street LOL. Charlie's has Menus posted on the wall .They have Bullet Proof Glass and Bars on the Windows. No Public Restrooms . Street Parking Only.5 Tables with 2 Chairs a piece to Dine Led TV for entertainment . They only take Cash Or Atm Cards .You order at the Microphone in front of the Bullet Proof Glass .While I was waiting for my food I had 2 Panhandlers hit me up for Change and seen a fool walk by Strapped .When my food was ready they called my number on my Receipt. I unpacked my food to find 3 Perfectly Cornmealed and Fried Catfish Fillet's , Box Cut Fries and 2 slices of Wheat Bread . The Catfish was Fresh and Tasted Great and the Fries were Crisp . They also serve Burritos there . But I stick with the Fried Fish .

This food is always great! I've recently got the steak and shrimp burrito which I'm currently addicted to, if you're in Oakland in this area then you should try!!!

Chris, one of the cashiers and cooks had excellent customer service. I'm really big on small kind gestures and he definitely fulfilled that with his professionalism. I asked if he could please hold off on sweeping and using disinfectant products while I was finishing my food and he happily understood. Also the veggies that they put on the burrito are one of a kind. He grilled the onions and bell pepper. Most places just put tomatoes and lettuce and call that a veggie burrito. The food exceeded my expectations! I will definitely be back for both the customer service and tasty burritos. Thanks again Chris!!!!

This place I would never ever go to for Mexican food. Apparently the prawns are really shrimp in disguise(although, I've never had them from here), but the catfish has not done me bad yet...so this is what I will stick with here.Definitely not worth the Mexican food. It does not taste authentic at all(perhaps that is not the goal‍) and I tried it twice just to make sure. The second time only reminded me of why I don't order Mexican food from this spot, especially wIth so many great Mexican food spots (trucks included) so close by.You've been warned.

I ordered 1 large red snapper and it was really hard and dry in the inside maybe I caught them on a bad day but I would not be goin back to that one

I've lived close at on time. It was a regular. I want to buy the picture of Muhammad Ali training under water, that's hanging on the wall today!I visited a couple of weeks ago.

I go there for the catfish, generous portions and the filets are not thin. I also enjoyed their nachos, more than enough for two people!

Very good fried fish. The fish taste fresh, it's reasonably priced and you get a good amount of food for the price.
