The SF location of Cellarmaker has arguably some of the best pizza in the Bay Area. When I heard this location had a Tavern Style version I knew I had to give it a try. While the pizza is cut like a traditional tavern style the dough is actually a thinner version of the dough they use for their Detroit pie at the SF location. This is not so much a complaint as an observation as the pizza absolutely rips. I tried the truffle fondue and the mortadella and potato and both were out of this world. Their homemade ranch is also worth mentioning so make sure to get some if you visit. The space is large and airy with TVs making it perfect to watch a game and the staff is always friendly and fast. I can't wait to go back.

Location is in an odd industrial spot. Inside is airy with high ceilings but looks a bit unpolished. Many kids and options for them to be entertained. Nice variety of seltzers. Watermelon flavor was good. Pepperoni pizza was delicious. The chicken pizza was not good unfortunately. Meat looked questionable and do not order unless you super loooove rosemary.

I haven't been to this Cellarmaker in Berkeley since the switch from the closing of The Rare Barrel. The space is still large and open, but there are a few added touches. They have a claw machine and pinball machine. The back area where bottle pickups used to be, now has seating for added seating for guests. They offered some NA beers and they still serve other guest taps besides their own. They are also still pouring some Rare Barrel sours. The beertenders were all friendly and paid attention to detail. Three of us went to grab some pizza and a pint. The pizza at Cellarmaker is great. I didn't know they offered a gluten free version which my wife was happy about. So we opted to try both pies gluten free. We got the Pep and the Mortadella & Potato. I must say they have great GF crust which is extremely hard to come by. It was great! Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures of the beer but I did take some pics of the pizza. I'm sure we will be back again for more pizza & beer during the daytime.

We came here for one of our friends baby shower and were pleasantly surprised at how good the food was and the chill vibes. They seated us in a little private nook area with plenty of tables which was nice and some arcade games and a projector showing some kid friendly movie. The place itself is really large which was nice for the kids to run around and still not disturb the other patrons. We had mostly a variety of pizzas and salads with some other appetizers, all of which were delicious. Would definitely like to come back here if we're in the area.

We always make it a point to come here when visiting family. We've been coming since it was Rare Barrel and I'm happy to report that it is still great now that it is Cellar Maker and I love that they still have The Rare Barrel on tap. Fantastic service, excellent ambience. Definitely worth checking out.

TL;DR: cute spot with interesting selection of beers but on the pricey side. There's also food available! We'd been to Fieldwork a couple of times before and were looking for something new to check out. I checked Yelp and was honestly attracted by the pretty canopy in their outdoor seating area so we came by. What a great discovery! They had a nice selection of their own beers (similar price point to Fieldwork, so not all that cheap) as well as Rare Bottle beers which are all aged. Since I don't drink beer, I tried the guava cider (juicy and delicious) as well as the Rose which was marked as a beer/wine hybrid - it was very fermented tasting with an acidity to make your mouth water, the taste grew on me after a bit.We didn't try any of the food but I thought they had a good selection of appetizers, pizzas and even cookies for dessert. It was very chill overall and service was friendly. I did end up loving the outdoor seats, but the picnic benches inside were nice too.Overall we would probably rate this a 4.5 but took it down a notch for value.

Cellarmaker Brewery: Berkeley's Playground for Beer AdventurersCraft beer lovers, listen up! My quest for exciting new brews led me to Cellarmaker Brewery in Berkeley, and let me tell you, it was a revelation. Cellarmaker is all about pushing boundaries and brewing liquid masterpieces.A Nitro Dream: Coffee and CigarettesRight off the bat, Cellarmaker's commitment to the unconventional was clear. My journey began with the aptly named "Nitro Coffee and Cigarettes." This dark brew wasn't just interesting, it was "out of this world". The smooth nitro pour unveiled a rich coffee aroma with subtle hints of tobacco, culminating in a satisfyingly roasty finish. It was like sipping a perfectly brewed coffee with a touch of smoky intrigue.Tropical Paradise: Coconut Bulletproof PorterNext, I took a sharp turn into the tropics with the "Coconut Bulletproof Porter." This beer completely redefined the porter experience. The creamy texture and subtle sweetness from the coconut beautifully complemented the rich, roasted base, making it a unique and incredibly satisfying adventure for the taste buds.A Refreshing Departure: Map of the Sun Sour "Map of the Sun" being different from other sours i've tried. Cellarmaker's take on the sour style was wonderfully complex. The tartness was refreshingly balanced, offering hints of citrus and other subtle notes that kept my palate guessing in the best way possible. It was a delightful departure from the usual sour experience. The Beer MVPs: Hard Cuts and Bourbon BlammoBut the fun didn't stop there. Cellarmaker throws some serious knockout punches with their collaborations. "Hard Cuts," a collab with another brewery, showcased the power of barley, delivering a flavor that was "soooper" good, according to your review. Then came the "Bourbon Blammo," a champion aged in bourbon barrels and conditioned on toasted coconut. Let me tell you, "OO man that is tasty as heaven" is a perfectly apt description. The bourbon influence added a touch of sophistication, while the toasted coconut provided a delightful sweetness that perfectly complemented the base beer.Beyond the Beer: A Culinary Delight (Pickled Okra)Cellarmaker isn't just about the brews. Their "Pickled Okra," was a delicious addition to the experience. It's these little touches that elevate Cellarmaker beyond just a brewery - it's a place for a complete sensory adventure.A Must-Visit for Beer Enthusiasts (and Beyond!)We ended up buying a few more brews to take home, a testament to the sheer quality and variety Cellarmaker offers. This is certainly not a place to miss if you're in Berkeley and looking for exceptional beer, or even just a unique and delicious dining experience. With its dedication to innovation and commitment to flavor, Cellarmaker is a must-visit for anyone seeking something beyond the ordinary. I, for one, will definitely be back for more!

Cellarmaker was another brewery in California I have been meaning to try and the opportunity came up and it was great to take the opportunity and enjoy their beer! Steve and I had their Pale Ale known as Tiny Dankster. This was a good, solid Pale Ale and was very refreshing to drink.Flavor features with this beer are tropical, dry and clean flavor characteristics. I do love the dry and clean aspects to a flavor profile than I used to so it's always fun to detect those highlights when drinking craft beer or cider. The beer is light and hoppy as well and it all rolls together very well to make a very solid beer. Good first time experience with Cellarmaker!

Solid experience, I haven't been since it was rare barrel. I enjoyed the sours and they have a few other options as well. My friends and I enjoyed a pizza and a cheese plate. Outdoor area is nice.
