I've come in here to use the ATM, because I'd rather give some no-name ATM company three bucks than Chase. My bank's a good 15 minute hike, and whenever I go get Pho, I need that cash.....I did buy beer here once or twice or ten times. There's a reasonable selection. I have no complaints about the product. The store's not whistling clean. It's kind of gritty. But usually no one's standing around outside drinking out of paper bags. Unless it's me.

the bar next door was inexplicably closed. no notice. just shut. couldn't get a buzz here. tried here. lots of selections in buds, mexs, microbrews, wines in bottles.some bottles priced. so cool!pour:bear republic "red pocket ale" (21 oz, 6.8%) 3.99 no tax-has hints of racer 5, robust drink, soft smooth finish, no roughish landing-has gusto, buzz, not a heavy tasting drink but is (6.8%)-buzzmeter: 4 stars (1 is ok, 2 is dandy, 3-get a designateted driver..)drips:-mid eastern run, store configured to prevent runouts. i.e. one way out. by cashiers-young black men waiting patiently in line, chit chat, cordial, so different from walmart.-cashier just cool, courteous,3.5 stars.

I am one who rarely does a bad review I like to see businesses thrive in Oakland being an Oakland native but while in the area getting my hair done I stopped by this store to grab a few treats before my appointment and the Reese's cup I selected I noticed had that white ashy look candy has when it has reached or surpassed the estimated shelf life . I walk back in not to ask for a refund but politely asked could I get another candy and told a young man the one I have seems to be a a bit old the clerk who was bubbly when I came in 5 minutes earlier apparently took personal offense which there's no need for it happens and proceeds to say what does the date say I told him there wasn't one on it and he looked it over and saw this to be true and said "what is it you want " in a frustrated tone ... I politely said " sir as I stated when I walked in I just wanted to exchange for another type of candy I don't wanna get the same kind if possible in case the others of this kind have the same issue he wave his hand as if to swAt at a fly and said go ahead Not liking the vibe and frustrated air on his end even though I was the one who got the bad candy I got a snicker and left out that is now in the trash because it to had them same issue . A lot of corner stores in low income neighborhoods take advantage and sell what people buy and never come back to complain about I WILL NEVER go back there again not because of the bad candy but the bad service how I was treated the attitude was unwarranted . After a pandemic I would think anyone who's business it survived would realize they're not invincible and that you can't treat people any old kinda way especially when they're forgiving of a issue on your end smh it happens to all stores expiration dates are overlooked often one of my kids used to pull the expired things at Walgreens so we understand but watch how you treat understanding customers because now you have this review

I recently bought an item at this store, Carriage Trade, and was initially charged $1 by the store clerk for a bag whereas elsewhere it would have only been 10 cents. As I begin exiting the store the store clerk, perhaps out of guilt, gave me my dollar back and said he didn't think I would've accepted the bag for a dollar. I felt cheated and hustled not so much because he said $1 for bag, but because he withheld my money and later decided to give it back. As a customer I was bamboozled by their employee, and as a customer I would not recommend a store to others who have employees who play cheating games with customers

There's not much to say when reviewing liquor stores. This one has massive selection and a relatively friendly staff. The location is somewhat sketchy but you shouldn't be bothered by people around here most times of the day. Prices are on-par with most other liquor stores in the area.
