"Recent discovery of this fusion Halal spot thanks to my Pakistani Sista from another Motha.. Love it! I was told this place is very popular in her community and I can taste why. I ordered the crispy chicken burger with madrasa fries and it was absolutely delicious. Not only was the coating crispy, the chicken inside was juicy and well seasoned, not oily. The fries were "meaty" & had a good kick to it with their house wing sauce. But you must enjoy it fresh, best at dine in. My friend had the Sheezan Club with regular fries. Its one of her regular favs. We sat and talked from open to close, service was attentive enough that my friends chai was refilled multiple times at ask. Easy to wave down wait staff when needed. Minimal Décor. The restaurant was steadily busy and seemed like everyone knew each other. Very friendly atmosphere. Inside seating behind small doorway feels a lot cooler than outside. Perhaps there's AC in the back? I was feeling a bit warm/stuffy at one point as I was seated in main dining area. Not a big bother though as the food was good. Parking is plenty. Restaurant is in the last space all the way down the driveway. Can easily miss the driveway to plaza if not paying full attention."
"My favorite place to order Indian food in the east bay!Customer service here is quick and seamless --They are really hospitable and quick to refill glasses of water. Very attentive and ready to add any additions and make suggestions if you want to try new things. Only positive things to say about their customer service.Butter chicken is a must, but the goat curry is perfection --Butter chicken here does not miss. Has perfect balance of spices and ghee. Pair it with garlic naan and that's already a fire meal. Also ordered goat curry and lamb vindaloo. Not a fan of the potatoes but there was not much. The meat portions are always really high.EACH dish comes with rice but keep in mind, it's a lot of rice. THE wings are a must try too. So much flavor and affordable.Overall, well worth the visit. This place also has a plethora of desserts ready to buy too!"

"Ordered a late night meal and it was packed to the brim. The chicken tikka masala was flavorful, creamy, and had the perfect blend of seasonings to warm my stomach. And the garlic naan was light, fluffy, and delicious! While I was waiting for the food, I had a conversation with the owner Raj and he offered me a hot cup of chai, which was delightful considering how warming it was for the cold night. This is now on my go to spot for Indian food in Albany, and I hope to return many more times!"
"Do not pass this up. I cannot find a comparable place that makes mixed veggies or tikka masala as they do. Honestly, I've gone as far as Sacramento and none hits like home like Bismillah. We are a frequent for many years. In the early 2000's when they first opened. Of course it's changed a lot in dining styles but the quality and service the same since day one. Same order every time, mixed vegetables, chicken tikki masala, rice, one plain and one garlic naan. This can feed four females, two teens and two adults. Plenty of parking in the plaza. There is a discounted rate of you use cash."
"Vegan N Chicken is a great restaurant to try if you're looking for delicious and affordable Indian food. Although there is limited indoor seating, the restaurant offers great takeout options. I ordered the chicken tikka masala and was impressed with the large serving size and delicious flavor. The chicken was perfectly cooked and the seasoning was just right. The naan bread was also amazing with its great texture and huge size. It was perfect for dipping into the soup. They also have a self-service sauce station, as well as tea and soup. I appreciated the value for the price of the food, which was very affordable. Overall, I recommend Vegan N Chicken to anyone who loves Indian food or is looking to try something new. The food is flavorful and satisfying, and the portions are generous."
"I've been here a few times since my original review. Each time when I've ordered the Chicken Tikka Marsala, the chicken has been overcooked and tough. I do like the curry sauce"
"Raj has been one of our regular weeknight dinner spots since my family moved to Oakland 5+ years ago. Staff are friendly, and there's always seating since they've been doing more take-out orders. The food always comes out fast and is super flavorful. We get the tandoori wraps, tandoori chicken and chicken curries. Always in our regular rotation!"
"We ordered goat curry, lamb palak, garlic naan, and gulab. Everything was tasty. I really enjoyed that the naan had a pronounced garlic flavor. I ordered medium spice for the meats, but it was barely present. I will order spicy next time.I cannot speak to their customer service because we had our food delivered, but it arrived hot."
"The food here is incredibly tasty and flavorful, the chicken tikka masala was rich in flavor and had a bit of heat which is something ive been missing in others that ive tried, the mango lassi was the perfect beverage to help cool the palate and prep to take another bite. 10/10 would recommend."

A very good and local Indian cuisine restaurant in the heart of El Sobrante. On the several occasions I've been there the food has been consistently good. The curries, the naan bread, and rice are excellent. The set up is reminiscent of the old Naan and Curry in San Francisco and Berkeley where you walk in and place your order at the counter, help your self to the plates and utensils and go to a vacant table of your choosing as your food is being prepared. Also as the best part , free Chai is provided that you serve yourself as well. The local Indian community in the area frequents this establishment, so you know the food here legitimate and good.

So this is still our family's go-to. The children really love the naan and lamb dishes especially the tikka masala. The food is very tasty and consistent. It always has plenty of seating and while it looks a bit dated we come for the food not the looks. The tea here is also worth noting. While not to everyone's liking it is what the family loves. It has the right blend of cream and tea and is always hot and refreshing. It is a local establishment in the neighborhood and has been here for a long while. We hope it stays here for many more years to come!

Fast, reasonable, tasty. Kinda all that you want in a takeout joint. Doesn't need to be the best, and I wouldn't tell you that it is.

Flavorful Dishes for their lunch buffet. Never had goat prepared so deliciously. It wasn't gamey at all! They had two variations of Basmati rice to choose from. Naan comes with the lunch special, which was made fresh to order. I also liked this fried vegetable fritter that had a medium heat to it; forgot its name. The dessert was a chilled rice pudding of sorts, nice and light. Chai tea was available at the dispenser, fragrant and freshly brewed. Every dish I tried was well seasoned with a complexity and balance of flavorful herbs. I think this may have been the best Indian food I've had! I haven't had Indian food in a while and used to go to a place in a town over. I'm glad I finally tried this place.

"Bismillah is next to a theatre. Been here for years. Small Pakistan eatery with a large menu: curries, specials, vegetables, desserts, sides, drinks, rice &Biryanis, tandoori BBQ, wraps & rolls..Ordered at counter, pd, got food in 10ish minutes.Sips: chai (comped) self serve at counter.Bites: beef nihari (13.99) slow cooked beef shank, stew like. boneless tender pieces of semi-fatty beef in a sauce with ginger, jalepeno, onions, cilantro, sauce slight spicy with chili oil bubbles.Beef in stewed in nihari masada: bay leafs, fennel seeds, tumeric, cumin, red chilies, salt, coriander, black cumin & Kashmiri chili, cinnamon, clovesNaan (2.05) was the puffy round kind with air pockets within. Very easy to soak up sauces..Michigan celebrates January as Muslim American Heritage Month."
"Who's working the magic in the kitchen?!Hercules is the fortunate home base for Naan Stop Kabob. Hubs and I were missing Vic's in Berkeley, but didn't want the hassle of going there. We remembered seeing Naan Stop Kabob when we went to other shops near by. After looking up the menu online we called and placed our order. We bought a lot of food. (See picture for list). We were so happy with all of our choices. Just the right amount of spice and heat. Absolutely delicious! We will definitely be back. Menu is extensive. Everyone should be able to find the right choices for them. Highly recommend."
"I've tried butter chickens and chicken tikka masalas in a wide variety of Bay area restaurants, and I most admit this one was a lot better that I expected. The food came out piping hot. The butter chicken I got smelled so good i couldn't wait to have a few bites. The sauce was actually spice and creamy while the chicken was really tender. The use of black cardamom is a tell tale sign of good masala and it was there. The rice was fresh and fragrant as well. Server was a cool guy behind the counter. Nothing crazy. And the atmosphere was whatever, just a regular set up. This spot is right next to the oh so popular pakwan so it definitely doesn't get as busy, but I kind of prefer the butter chicken here as it's spicier and more tender. Definitely try this place but eat the food at the restaurant as out is such a different experience when it's fresh out the kitchen."

"I had the lamb biryani last night after eating my own cooking for the last 2 weeks. Just perfect. It had about 3 lamb chops worth of meat. It also served with yogurt sauce and spicy green sauce. I couldn't have asked for more."
"I had such a wonderful experience! I hosted my daughter's 1st birthday here with over 200+ people and Mohammed was so helpful and accommodating throughout the whole process! In the beginning, he helped me answer all my questions and had open communication with me the whole way through. The day of the event he and his team were phenomenal. Everything came out on time. The food was really good and the bartender was great. Mohammed was so generous enough to add a few items on the menu to accommodate my guests. He even threw in some things to make the venue extra special for us. I've never had a venue do that for us. He is a true blessing! I will definitely be booking more events here in the future"
"I've been on the hunt for a go-to Indian spot and I think I've found it in Taava Kitchen. My daughter and I stopped in for takeout on a Saturday night and watched everything being prepared. We ordered widely (I may have gone a touch overboard given we're a family of three):Daal makhaniChicken tikka masalaChicken kormaMomos SamosasKebabNaanAll of it packed a flavor punch and the items I ordered medium spicy for my husband and me were exactly that. He told me the chicken korma was just what he was looking for. There are a few tables inside for very casual dining but be prepared to keep your jackets on if you visit in the winter months (it's cold inside!)."
"Amazing!!! Get their paratha ROLLS. Their parathas are soft and flaky and make the perfect wrap for their rolls. The owner is so sweet, he gave us masala fries to try for free and chatted with us about the menu and what new products they're going to come out with. I got their tofu tikka wrap (which is wrapped in a tortilla rather than a paratha) and it wasn't as good, highly recommend the rolls!! Chicken tikka in particular was a love amongst my family. Great place!"
"Khan Karahi Kabobs opened where Curry Carvings was. Same large parking lot, same inside & outside dining area. Sparse decor. Offerings (Pakistan): BBQ, curries, vegeterian, biryani, breads, desserts, specials, beverages..Serviced quickly at counter, paid, food cooked to order. Ready in 10ish minutes. A patron made suggestions to me as Pakistan food is relatively new to me. Me & server didn't converse well. A difference of India & Pakistan eats-latter is halal. Sips: chai (comped) self service at table.-perfecto! Had the right mix of black tea & milk..no bitterness, skipped sugarBites: Peshawari Namakmansdi Lamb Karahi(16.99) freshly made from scratch in wok-stir fried small pieces of bone in lamb, tomatos, ginger, onions, garlic & ghee? Jalepeno slices and red onions served on side-tossed in all the red onions, 1 jalepenos & mixed. -lamb pieces tasted fresh, tender & juicy. Sauce exquisitely blended. Couldn't handle spiciness so left rest of jalepenos out. *portion is small. Big appetites should order for 2 persons.Whole wheat roti (2.25)-healthier than naan (white flour) since it's whole wheat. Tore off parts to wipe up leftover sauces. Slight char on roti surface added exotic flair..4.5 stars maybe 5. Still a novice with Pakistan eats . All good so far. This may not have traveled well. Reheating roti problematic. Kahari maybe..."
"Like the name implies, House of Curries is a homey place with no frills but good food. You order at the counter, self-serve water, plates, utensils, and the complimentary chai, and someone will soon bring out your delicious order. We got a lamb vibdaloo and a chicken tikka masala, the garlic naan, a side of rice, and a mango lassi. The lamb was tender, the chicken a bit on the dry side, the naan was delicious, and the mango lassi filled to the brim!If you want some solid comfort food, do not skip this place!"
"A true gem -- amazing flavors, good hospitality/service, and great prices. We got the aloo gobi, fried eggplant, chapli kebab, and chicken samosa. Aloo gobi: 8.5/10 delicious, flavorful, loved the chunks of cauliflower. Fried Eggplant: 10/10 super "meaty", unique, easily my new favorite dish. Chapli kebab: 8.25/10 I don't usually like meat dishes but this one tasted great. Would get again. Chicken samosa: 9/10 different from the samosas that I'm used to, but in a good way. Filled with super crumbly, flavorful chicken. Accompanied by a sweet, tart sauce. The staff was also super friendly, made us feel very welcome and checked in regularly to see how we were enjoying the food. Would 1000% come back to try the other dishes."
""Funny nam'e,Top notch gam'e."One of K&C's Michelin Bib Gourmand plaques on the wall says it best -- you come here for the food. Not the service, which can be brusque even if you're a regular. Not the ambience, which is non-existant. You come here for the excellent home style food. Standouts include butter chicken with a hint of BBQ sauce flavour. Tandoori chicken with char to die for. And dum biryani that, excuse the cliché, probably really might be the best in the Bay (get the goat). Kabab and Curry's is the aloof kid / neighbour / coworker who, despite their faults, is just too damn good at what they do to be ignored. You come here for the food. True score: 9.1 / 10. Return: YES"
"I've been coming to Shalimar for years and years. I love this spot - it was my first foray into Indian food when I was young. Anyway, the food is solid. I order Doordash/Uber Eats from here often. My favorite is just the butter chicken or mutton."
"I've always heard this place was good and first time in 4 years living in Fremont I decided to try it.What we ordered: chicken tikka masala curry, butter chicken curry, lamb curry, garlic naan, rice and chai.Food was pretty delicious and I'd definitely be coming again.I was wondering why this place has such a low rating and after reading the reviews, I realized people complaining about food options, service and place itself. Yes, it's not a super fancy place and maybe there is a lack in something, but for its level - definitely deserves 5 stars."
