"Located in the Marketplace, Baron's has great cuts of fish and meats. They will scale, skin, clean, etc. Caviar and smoked salmon is also available. You can request for your meat and fish to be packed in ice. It's a bit pricey, but the quality of the fish and meats is worth it! My one piece of feedback is to have a clear place to form a line."
"rancho market is on the corner of foothill and fruitvale i remember for many years this was a drug store back in the 80s and early 90s now it,s rancho market it,s a cool market the only thing is it,s always crowded because the bus stop is right in front also it,s very hard to find parking they also have a cool carneceria in the back..."
"I went to this shop yesterday. I thought it was a restaurant but they sell meat for hot pot. We love the meat !!"
"Faisal Market is a small market that specializes in Indian/Pakistani food. wasn't sure till i checked the website. halal meat counter in the rear, small aisles containing condiments, sauces, packaged goods, pre-made pastries, cookies, snacked, all factory made. didn't see any local made goods.not everything was priced. small produce section in front.few middle eastern items seen. items had too much fat content so i passed....."
"We ordered frozen hot pot beef and oxtail. They were really nice and answered all of our questions. And Wow! What a bargain fot quality meat!"
"They offer a lot of different selections for Asian dishes. I enjoyed finding things from all the ethic groups of Asia. They have a decent selection of fresh seafood in the store. We appreciated the customer service we got in the back while choosing out our seafood."
"Halva, canned hummus, and vegan ice cream. I didn't know this store had all this inside, even some kind of vegan burger patty I've never heard of. Really enjoyed coming here, glad i could get my hands on some marbled halva again!"
"Madina Halal Foods is at the backside of the commercial strip. good sized store even though front looks small.offerings: fresh halal meats, groceries, produce, condiments, refrigerated goods. not sure if eatery is open.buys: "Nan Khatai" classic biscuit (1.49)-% of nutrional info not very bad. slight amount of palm oil, sugar-slight sugary taste, fattiness.lots of parking, didn't see ready to eat goods."
"Lookit here. This block is problematic. I'm not sure if it is because this is where the rich folks come down from the hills to be really picky when they shop, or if it because it is adjacent to a cauldron of burgeoning gross preteen hormones.I'm sure it is both. So the customer service at these places can be surly. BUT! If you can have a sense of humor about life, you will be able to remember when you were the annoying screaming teenager, silently look down your nose at the tone deaf rich people, and enjoy the foods and services this block has to offer."
"This little market has what every corner store traditionally carries a meat counter, fresh produce, a decent amount of basic essentials, and of course a litter of conventional spirits. The workers are generally friendly and the front counter accepts everyday tender. My favorite part of the store is the meat market. Bring cash, debit or EBT only. This is not where you go for organic or cage-free or free-range, there's no grass fed or prime cuts, this is chock full of conventional poultry (chicken and turkey), and pork and beef that's generally frozen or nearly frozen. They make low-end sandwiches which have things uncommon to most California delis, like spicy hog head cheese, hot links, liverwurst, and bologna. No frills, but if you need a fix of neck bones, pig feet, or salt pork stop here. They even have meat packages at reduced prices."
"First time here I was looking for some short ribs to make some Asian sticky ribs ...... initially I didn't see any But I was asked what I was looking for and sure enough they did have some available They cut up the short ribs how I wanted them Price is very reasonable Store is clean Customer service is friendly Street parking only Credit card and debit card accepted Just cus is not displayed does not mean it's not available"
"This whole mini-mall is packed with Mexican shops (though that Guadalajara taqueria next door is nothing special IMO). The market/carniceria is good though, because it's not too big, but it's well-stocked. The best thing about it is that I can buy the crumbly white cheese for my refried beans in small quantities, at the deli counter, instead of dropping nearly $4 for an entire slab of the stuff. Also the staff is super nice and helpful in case you have any gringo newbie cooking questions!"

Visited Baron's today for some filet mignon to make shaken beef. Asked for 6oz filet and it was melt in your mouth with no fat. I redeemed my birthday reward and the guy at the register was super nice. will be back for sure

Super cheap for produce but you really gotta dig to find the stuff that's not overly ripe. It's a great place if you're shopping on a budget but remember, you get what you pay for. Don't go here at night and there's a small ass selection. But it's good enough.

Just a warning that I purchased the galbi ribs and asked if it was marinated. The shop clerk said it was pre-marinated, but it totally does not taste like Korean galbi ribs. It is not properly marinated.

Definitely a 5 star meat place for me. I love halal meat and I can say I finally found my number 1 in east bay. Their front desk people are very friendly and no arrogance. Good job y'all.

Hands down the best place in Oakland to get your meats! Me and my bf were trying to figure out where to buy meat to bbq and heard good things about this place. We called in advance to ask about the meats. Unfortunately, they didn't have sliced brisket that we wanted, however the person on the phone (I think was the owner), suggested a meat that wasn't on the menu but would be great for bbqing. I believe he called it the hanger tenderloin, and it's something they were testing before putting it on the menu. It was around ~7.00$ per lb. We ended up getting 3 lbs of it, and wish we gotten more! We also got about a lb of sliced lamb, and 3 lbs of short ribs! The 3 lbs of hanger tenderloin, 1 lb of lamb, and 3lbs of short rib ended up being around 55$, which isn't too bad at all! This place did not disappoint, we'd definitely come back for more! Don't forget to bring cash because I believe its cash only!

Smell of fried fish hits you when you walk in, not unpleasant at all, it smells great and it's cool they'll fry any fish you buy for free.88 has been around for maybe 1-2 years but it feels like it's been there for decades, they have cool packaged and canned goods from all over Asia and some Islander specific goods like Cassava and lamb shoulder. I would come for frozen and packaged stuff. The reason for the rating is I wish their seafood, meat, and produce vendors were better. I would not trust some of the stuff being sold here, especially after coming to grab strawberries for the kids and there was a huge moldy box right in the front row. If something like that is left there what goes un-noticed?They have a hilarious and sad "SHAME" list of shoplifters they printed out with dates and what they stole near checkout.I will continue coming here for sure to support them since they are the closest market to my bros apartment and will update this review if things change over time.

"Quality/Quantity - This is the best Asian supermarket in this area. If you know another that is better, please message me!!Grocery & frozen - this is the main reason we come here. We stock up because in Reno, there are ZERO good Asian supermarkets.Produce is ripe, so it is good if you plan to eat them soon. Otherwise, shop at one of the national chain brands.Meat - Fresh and frozen; also great job having directions for a "line." In the past, it was who can scream the loudest that gets served first.Seafood is FRESH, and many live options.Deli is pretty much closed except for a very small selection of BBQ, see pictures.Atmosphere - Again, the best Asian supermarket in this area. And now with a new remodel of the produce expansion, sheltered outdoor produce area, etc., it made them even better.Well stocked, we can usually get 100% of what we want or need. Not sure if they have sales...? With our current lifestyle, we only buy what we need immediately.Overall clean.Plenty of mall parking.Don't expect a shopping cart in front, so grab one when you park.Usually they have security at the entrance.Open 7 days a week from 8:30am to 7pm.The entire mall is still going through a remodel (for 2+ years now).I believe they are also getting solar...?The entire mall is also going through some turnover; hoping for the best.Service - Do not expect service, similar to Home Depot, it is pretty much self service. It is best to know what you want and need, but you might get lucky and find a good employee every now and then.Price - Reasonable.Owner Suggestion - Not sure if it is the same ownership in Oakland...? If yes, congrats on your 2 locations. Some additions that might better your brand: Full deli? Website? Advertisement? Sales? Basic customer service - Greeting and thanking customers?"
"Hidden gem alert! I discovered Millan salami company in Emeryville purely by accident. I was searching for something else on yelp when I found their yelp page, and had to go to discover this place on my own! When I pulled up, I discovered that they are the epitome of an old hole in the wall business. The rolling gates were locked, and the place actually looked somewhat abandoned. I called the phone number, and was greeted by a very friendly gentleman who assured me that they were open for business, and opened to the public.I told him that I was parked and that the gate was locked. He graciously took my order, and offered to bring everything out to my car. I must say I was blown away by the kindness and willingness to provide excellent customer service. More importantly, we had a really nice conversation about their products, and the difference between The items that they sold that have nitrates versus the ones that do not have nitrates in them. I selected several items that are nitrate free, and he even made suggestions for shelf life. The prices are amazingly reasonable, the quality is superior, and what an amazing place! It's totally understandable that they keep the doors closed during these troubled times. What really impressed me above the excellent customer service and excellent products, is that the gentleman told me that they are happy to ship anywhere, shipping prices are super reasonable, and they even offer local delivery! They are a family owned business that has been around for over 50 years. After tasting the salami, I completely understand why they've been around for so long. Definitely check out their menu! They accept checks and cash. You don't want to miss out on this!"
"Supermercado La raza isn't as super as others. no taqueria, no panadena. they do have a meat/seafood section, a well stock mex/american beer section and some cheap pan mexicano and bakes(4/$1)buys:-modelo especial chelada ( w/ tomato & lime juice, salt)-2.99liked this better than the bud versioneven better than tecate with limes.didn't see microbrews, if any-pan mexicano (4/$1)ok, fresh tasting-helado ice bar, (cookies & cream) (.99)yummynotes:-didn't see parking lot, maybe in back-large store (eden market before), clean, -farmer's coffee available.-ok shopping for the area..."
"Picked up some carne asada meat from here earlier today so i can make some Mexican food. It was priced decently. Tasted pretty good. Had some fat in it every stew bites but I'm not complaining. They have a lot of options for pan, pastries, and croissants. They all looked so delicious. Very good store for a quick pick up. The produce here looked good. Decently priced as well I'm so happy i found this place on yelp so i didn't have to drive further than normal just for a few items. I forgot something on my list so i could t use my card again unless i had spent over $5. The staff inside was actually really nice. Everything was easy to find. Small store. Not too many people which was great."
"New Hop Lun Market is s relaunch of Hop Lung Market with new owners a few years ago with basically the. same goods sold in less place.-freshly killed pig delivered, cut up and sold by weight-fresh beef, lamb meats sold by the piece.-freshly thawed seafood. frozen seafood solld by the pound..-cured dried pork, duck, sausage sold by weight.-dried seafood, animal products.. eggies sold in packages,-fresh vegetables, fruits sold in front of store-preserved vegetables, meat liquors, sold in containers -no dairy products, milk, soft drinks, alcohol, tobacco sold.note: *sometimes people pass bad bills (counterfiet) in minority areas, banks confiscate such bills with no compensation. just a "receipt" given to market/depositer. just facts, not strange that grocery try to avoid accepting "bad" bills."
"This is a store for meat eaters! Next time you're in Oakland, and you have a hankering to eat alligator, goat, rabbit, frog legs, venison, Hog head cheese or pork belly--this is a great place to check-out.I got some Chicken Boudin Sausage that they made fresh. It was delicious, and reasonably priced. Besides unusual meats, they carry the regular types that supermarkets carry. They alsipo have lower prices for bulk buying. However, I didn't notice organic meats or beef that is finished with grass instead of grain (that is my preference). That is why this isn't a place that I would usually shop. But the next time I want fresh Boudin Sausage or if I want something that is not available at a regular market--like alligator--I will definitely remember to go here!"
"El Charro Super Mercado has only been here a few years. it's not "super" like other like named businesses: little produce, no alcohol, no house made pastries, just fresh meats, mex. groceries, spices, dairy products.the missing items can be sourced nearby.small parking lot. 2 food trucks in front.buys: a few "bimbo" pastries: concha...-has the usual bad fats, sugar, salts....not as good as house made."
"I found out about this place just by luck, also being a little hungry may have had something to do with it too. They have good quality cuts of meat here.Depending on your order some items can be a little pricey,I would gladly pay a couple of bucks more for fresh quality especially when your having company over to your house! I can't tell you how many times I've bought items only to bring them right back to the store for a refund or exchange.Great selection of fruits and vegetables, and frozen goods too.But you can get frozen stuff at Costco... meet your new butcher!"
"Allied Pringle is a great place to pick up that nice rib roast for the holidays or pretty much anything you like year round.Beef cuts, pork, links and dogs and much more.Hear they even have halal meat.I have found that some of the prices if not all beat Safeway and Costco (only other spots I buy meat aside from Baron's in Alameda when I wanna splurge on dry aged beef) flat out.Tom is always extremely helpful when I've called in ahead and has the order ready ....can't beat that ! Plus parking around here is easy and just a couple of blocks off 880 making for a quick in and out. Check em' out!"
"Love Weber Meats. So my mom asked Fudruckers where they got their burgers from. They told her Weber Meats in San Leandro . I was also told Foster Freeze gets their burgers here as well. When we have parties we like to pick up a box of 1/3 pound burger patties. Everyone always raves about them . I love their patties! Great quality, fresh and flavorful!"
"Cute grocery section with a decent number of uncommon items. It seemed strange to me that the meat section was so sparse. Service was quick but not terribly friendly - they hung up on me after answering my very brief question without so much as a bye, meat counter service was a bit awkward, check out was clearly not having a great day. And that was just this one visit.Sandwiches are now $18 a piece. Still delicious but still premade so the tomatoes were going a bit soggy, and only three available a day from 11-3. No Soprano on the week's menu... in fact almost the same three every day. I'm glad I went but I'll be going to Lunardi's for my big expensive sandwiches from now on."
"My dad really likes this place. It's across the street from "pill hill" on the telegraph side of the hill. They have been here for hella long but I have only been here a handful of times when giving in to my dad's request. They have a small grocery store side and a deli style cafe side. It is very popular with the EMTs and hospital staff. The staff seem very nice on the occasions that I have been there. The food is quick and healthy and it actually tastes good. So my concerns are that tables are not at clean as one would like matter of fact even the many of the other surfaces are no so clean. So just don't let your imagination wander about the things that the public can not see is all I am going to say. Other than that you can get a decent meal at a good priceOh also one last thing don't try to call ahead they never answer the phone"
"La Loma No. 1 is literally stocked with goodies from the floor to the ceiling. all the shelves are filled! lanes are narrow. all items pricedofferings: fresh meat market, a few mexican bakes, sodas, mex. groceries, ready to eat mixes, condiments, spices, produce, medicines, no booze nor taqueria. eats: "duritos de harina" (fried lime/chili chip snacks, 1.69)-fresh limey, hot fried wheat flour wheelies-made in san jose, ca.take outs:-quick courteous service by single cashier-no parking lot, street parking."
"Paul Bertoli leaves Chez Panisse for Oliveto, which I got to eat at once while he was the chef there. Then he leaves Oliveto to make Salumi and Baslamic? Interesting. Of course you knew whatever he was doing with food was going to be good. I've tried most of the salami, many of the sausages, but none of the prepared, pre packaged foods which I think someone told me you can get at Costco? Id be curious as to see what the Penne Puttanesca would be like, though I doubt it's going to beat it fresh from when he was at Oliveto. Still a solid vendor doing handcrafted foods."
"They deliver! I might never shop for meat at the grocery store again. We have ordered almost everything they offer, and they have not done us wrong so far. The cuts and the quality and the pricing and the people are all excellent. In fact, we just made pozole with the pork butt, and it wad tender and perfect. The charcuterie is to die for. The Spanish chorizo and the fennel salami are our favorites, but we also love that they provide deli sandwich meat in bulk (it keeps in the freezer just fine). Another favorite in our house are the chicken apple sausages and the whole roasting chicken. The was the best find of the pandemic for our house. We are customers for life!"
"Yeyo's Meat Super Carniceria is definitely about the fresh meats sold at the 2 counters in the rear. most of the patrons end up here. Yeyo's is in the lot next to Carnitas El Rincon. Yeyo's is a very small grocery, space wise. no booze, limited prepped foods. aisles packed with Mexican groceries, some produce, some dairy, drinks. -limited parking at side and in front. Cardenas, a hedge fund owned Mexican grocery, isn't far from here. there was more shoppers here than i ever saw in Cardenas.: buys: Fritos: chorizo & chipotle artifically flavored corn chips (3.19)-made in Mexico, has dozens of chemical additives, at least a dozen dyes.-tastes fake, not healthy, labeled as such. owned by Pepsi."
"They are relatively new and fresh.I've been many times since it's local, an alternative to other chain grocery stores and everything is good. They have fresh produce/products and are moderately priced for some things. They have a ready made food are with tamales, ceviche, aguachilles and more. They have a butcher meat section with all the fresh meats. There is also a mexican restaurant with great food. The staff is friendly & helpful, I'm comfortable recommending them as a business and I'm here often.Cheers to good eats."
"This is the only store we can find fresh goat and since it is one of the best meats you can eat we are always looking to buy it fresh. As far as fat content goat is better than chicken and it is more sustainable than any other red meat. The store has so many amazing cultural cuisines and it is fun to look around at everything you think you couldn't get in the US."
"The best egg salad on earth lives in the deli here... made fresh daily and so addicting. I could eat tubs of their egg salad in one sitting. Also delicious tuna melt and all kinds of sandwiches. The ribs roasted in house are also delicious. Worth a visit or many many visits for sure!"
"Had such a pleasant experience here. I looked everywhere around Castro Valley for fenugreek leaves and dried limes, and eventually found this place. It has allll the Sadaf spices, great Afghan and Armenian products-lebne, feta cheese, lavash, grape leaves, teas, olives, sweets! Not only did they have Greta products, but the man who was working was so incredibly kind. I will definitely come back :)"
"AIm is a meat specialist ala the markets in oaktown on san pablo ave. and nearby. u buy in volume and save $$, good quality poultry, meats, and fish.other groceries available too. came here for the beer. not much selection. more than SaveMax.brew: St. Ides Malt liquor (2) 8.2% alc.-probably a little pricey-brew almost smooth, not nasty tasting like King Cobra, etc.-haven't seen this brand in decades...takeouts:-roomy parking lot."
"This is my first time going to this supermarket and my god, I loved everything about it, they were careful with who's going on and coming out, clean, went in there to grab this specific hot link and came out with a lot of vegetables because they have to he freshest vegetables, especially the greens and they got variety of seasonings and everything just looked so good. Couldn't resist coming out with just hot link. Definitely highly recommended. Wish we lived closer. Had to drive from sf to come here but will definitely be back to shop more"
"I am just here for the chicken. Whole, specific portion, or boneless, they have it all. I love bone-in whole chicken but hate the messiness of cutting it up; here they do a fine job of cutting it at pretty much the size I want. They have a huge range of generic spices, and specific dish-ready spice-mixes that spans South Asia all the way to the Middle-east. as well as other goodies like assorted cookies, cake rusks (the Asian counterpart to the cantuccini), dates, and more.I'd be remiss to not mention that they will also grind meat for you on demand. I think that's awesome! More so when it's not all that easy to get ground chicken, like you get the other meats. Chicken kebabs, here I come!In short, this is my go-to for chicken, whenever I want to put in a little more than minimal effort towards cooking a particular/special dish."
