They didn't have an option for type of crystal boba on the kiosk or I forgot but the main cashier register wasn't work, so I paid again to add boba.Nice ambianceThe taste of my dragon fruit drink was a little flat for sweetness so maybe next time I'll get 100 instead of 50%. Zuri G. "I had high hopes when coming, as I saw this bakery on my Instagram reels. I was met with a line and a bakery that only allows one group at a time. It took awhile until it was my turn, so be prepared to wait. The man that got our items was quite nice. We got the sweet potato, carrot cake, and peach cobbler cheesecake. For the cheesecake, eat it asap or keep it refrigerated, because it WILL melt! We ate our stuff a few hours after purchasing, so it may have affected the original taste but here is what we thought.Note : most of us have a "traditional" Asian palate The carrot cake and sweet potato cake were quite nice, but the sweet potato cake didn't taste like much. The two had quite a lot of frosting which were a little too sweet for us, but the layers of cake were thick which made up for it. The peach cobbler cheesecake was good, and the topping was perfectly seasoned and sweet. The cheesecake crust was also made very nicely.Unfortunately, (with our Asian palates) it was too sweet for us. So if you prefer desserts on the lighter side, I wouldn't recommend. Otherwise, it was a great stop for a reasonable price."

Allan N. "Really great spot for a large selection of classic asian desserts. I wish more of these one-off dessert bistros existed around the bay area. You could argue Meet Fresh fits the bill, but I think there's something special about the vibe of these one-off dessert shops that is hard to replicate in a giant franchise. We ordered four desserts:1. Egg puffs (bubble waffles) with mango ice cream and fruit2. Almond Tofu Pudding3. Mango Pomelo Sago4. Milk Ice with Green Tea and Strawberry Ice CreamDespite have a cheesecake factory sized menu, the quality on every dish was upheld, and the waiter was very attentive when we were ordering individual ice cream flavours. Speaking of the ice cream - it was fantastic; the mango ice cream they have was exceptional with a great flavour and texture.P.S. i love that there's curry fish balls on the menu and it just falls right in the middle of the menu between two types of desserts - if that isn't a sign of a high quality classic asian dessert shop, I don't know what is."

Celine L. "I'm so sad that Marley's Treats is closing their storefront! They'll stay open throughout February (March onwards, TBC) before transitioning to catering only. As a huge Pandan/Ube fan (but also someone who does not have a sweet tooth), this hits hard. These flavors are my absolute favorites! I ordered my wedding cake from Marley's--an 8" UBE CAKE ($135) along with dozens of UBE CUPCAKES ($32/dozen)--and they were a hit! So many guests raved about how moist and yummy they were. Delivery to Walnut Creek ($40) was smooth too. When I visited their store, I also tried the UBE FLANDESAL and UBE OREO CUPCAKE. They were decent, but I definitely preferred the ube cupcakes. The flandesal's leche flan filling was a bit too sweet for me. It was coconutty, and slightly salty which helped balance the sweetness a bit. I also found the Ube Orea cupcake to lack ube flavor in comparison as the oreo cream kind of diluted it.However, the PANDAN ICE CREAM $11 for a pint, took me by surprise. It's super green (probably an extract), but the texture is creamy--not icy at all. The pandan flavor is actually strong, which is rare! Most spots dial down the pandan/ube flavors, so it ends up too subtle, but not Marley's Treats! I personally like this more than other pandan ice creams I've had (like Garden Creamery and Miharu). My husband also tried their UBE PANDAN CRUNCH ICE CREAM and he said it was really good too, but they didn't have it when I was there. That said, the UBE MILKSHAKE was painfully sweet. I had it on an empty stomach and felt sick after a few sips--couldn't even finish it. Also felt that the milk kind of watered the ube flavor down (compared to cupcakes/ice cream). Their milkshakes are only for those with a serious sweet tooth.Btw, I'm on a mission to try all the pandan cakes/ice creams/coffees in the Bay Area. Haven't tried too many yet, but I'll report back. At least I have had Singapore's Bengawan Solo Pandan cake to compare as a gold standard!***Tip: Catering only after February :( think it's street parking only, but there are meters in the downtown.Likes: Ube cake, ube cupcake, pandan ice cream, ube pandan crunch ice creamMeh: Ube Flandesal, Ube MilkshakeLast words: Strong ube and pandan flavors (extracts)"

They have a selection of ice creams as well as italian ices more akin to a sorbet style dessert. I really wanted a salted caramel shake which wasn't available as an ice cream but the gentleman at the back who had been dealing with some tasks piped up that he could make me a killer one and if I didn't like it he'd refund me or make me whatever I wanted.Cue the A-Team music, he set to work and combined what looked like house made caramel, soft serve and a little salt and produced a salted caramel milkshake that slayed. It wasn't horribly expensive either at $8 for a large.I'll be back for more for sure."

I had already been introduced to their blueberry crumble at my friend's house so I knew I would be in for a treat. When I got there on Saturday morning, the only "apple" pie that they had was a 6 inch caramel apple. Since it was a little over a week post Thanksgiving, they were still ramping up their pie production. They did however have a frozen classic apple pie that I could bake at home. In the end, I decided on three 6-inch pies: caramel apple, classic apple, and the blueberry crumble. All three were outstanding...my brother in law who typically does not eat sweets really enjoyed the blueberry crumble. He found it not overly sweet which we all agreed. My dad enjoyed both the caramel and the classic apple but surprisingly the classic was probably mine and my husband's favorite. I wasn't sure how the frozen pie was going to bake off in my humble home oven but it worked out fine. My oven though must run a little low because it did take longer than the instructions. Since it was my first visit, I also got a free cookie. If you are in the area, this is worth the visit. They have other bakery items and empanadas if you are not in the mood for pie. I had the ham and swiss empanada for breakfast and it was delicious. The Niles Pie Company operates under a co-op model. It is clear they take great care and pride in their work and it shows in their baked goods."

Large windows, plenty of tables (some outside), and even booths (you gotta have luck to get one of those). The service here is great. They were so patient with us while we were trying to decide. They have daily specials that you can even buy by the slice. The first time we went, we shared an elote pizza. SO GOOD. I dream about this pizza. I rave about this pizza. The dough is nice with enough chew. The pizza toppings make you not miss meat and the flavors are exquisite! The second time we went, we got half potato pizza and half mushroom. The potato pizza I enjoyed. The rosemary was a nice addition to the pizza. My husband said the mushroom pizza was good, but he was expecting a little more *something*. Daniel B. "I devoured my Bacon Cheesy TrueBurger if that tells you anything. The burgers, fries, onion rings, and milkshakes that we had here were excellent and the service we received was great. If you're craving a burger in Temescal / North Oakland, I recommend this place. We visited on a Saturday around 11:15am. The restaurant wasn't busy at the time of our visit, which worked out for us because we had kids in tow and could spread out and relax a little. There's a decent amount of seating inside. No outdoor seating that I saw. The setup and atmosphere is that of a fast food restaurant, like In-N-Out, but TrueBurger is local to Oakland. The kitchen is open so you can see them make everything. There are only two TrueBurger locations at the time of writing this review: (1) The original location which opened on Grand Ave in Downtown Oakland in January 2010. https://www.yelp.com/biz/trueburger-oakland (2). This second location which opened in Temescal, Oakland in January 2015. This location is significantly bigger than the first location downtown. My niece is a fan of this place and asked us multiple times, "Can we go to TrueBurger?" She got her wish. Her 10-year-old taste buds agree with mine. Everything was delicious (except for maybe the vegetarian Mushroom Burger, but that's not something I'd normally order; my sister got it).The menu here is simple. TrueBurger serves 5-ounce beef burgers, cooked medium, with garlic mayo, lettuce, and tomato by default. Cheese, bacon, onions, pickles, and a portobello mushroom patty are options (onions and pickles at no extra cost). TrueBurger's Mushroom Burger reminded me of Shake Shack's 'Shroom Burger. Both mushroom burgers are made with portobello mushrooms and stuffed with cheese.During our visit, the burgers ranged in price from $8.00 for a plain burger without cheese to $11.00 for either a Double-Up (double beef and double cheese) or a True Deluxe (burger with cheese + a mushroom burger patty on top; again, similar to a Shake Shack item -- the Shack Stack, which I've had on multiple occasions). TrueBurger also serves hot dogs, the aforementioned fries and shakes, onion rings, ice cream, root beer floats, strawberry lemonade, fountain drinks (standard self-serve machine), and bottled and canned beer.I had a Bacon Cheesy TrueBurger ($10.50) with garlic mayo, lettuce, tomato, onions, and pickles. It was fantastic. It tasted fresh, and it was filling and satisfying. TrueBurger serves their burgers in paper wrappers like In-N-Out, Shake Shack, etc. Their burgers are ground daily. The ingredients were good quality, including the bacon which was scrumptious. We got a couple orders of fries for the table, both regular French Fries ($3.75) and Garlic Fries ($4.25), plus Onion Rings ($6.00). The onion rings came with a side of ranch. We also asked for a side of garlic mayo ($0.95), the same garlic mayo they put on the burgers, to dip our fries and onion rings into. Along with ranch and garlic mayo, TrueBurger also offers chipotle and barbecue sauces. The fries were the slimmer, smooth-cut, crispy variety, kind of like the fries served at McDonald's, Burger King, and Wendy's. However, these were better. I saw the staff cutting potatoes by hand. I highly recommend the Garlic Fries. They were incredibly tasty and addictive. The Onion Rings were terrific too. What I liked about them was they weren't too greasy, but were still nice and big with wonderfully appetizing texture. We got Chocolate Milkshakes for dessert and they were outstanding. They really hit the spot. They were thick, smooth, creamy, and gratifying. We watched as one of the employees handspun the shakes. If you've made it this far into my review, then you've probably realized by this point that there is an extra level of personal attention to the food here. I think that helps set TrueBurger apart from the competition. It's a difference in quality that you can taste.Even my Dr. Pepper from the soda fountain tasted good (and you know those machines/drinks aren't all created/prepared equally). The staff was polite, efficient, and well-trained.No wonder why my niece likes this place so much."
